(She had gone quite still save for the slow shift of her body as she breathed, it was just that he made it damn easy to feel relaxed and comfortable. To think she had gone from feeling nervous, to aroused, to nervous and now to relaxed.. what was this male's power? She smiled at that thought, knowing that it was just the dream's ability to change and adapt to how she was feeling on the other side. It was odd to her, however, that she was dreaming so deeply on the night of her change.. when she typically didn't dream at all. Typically she would sleep for a little bit and wake to shift into dragon form. She would spend the night that way before changing back in the morning to sleep for the remainder of the day. But tonight, it seemed, she was going to sleep through the night. How odd. She sighed as he rested his head against hers, thinking about what he had said and musing quietly about what it would be like to have a drakon mate. What she wouldn't give to have a strong alpha male protector.. so she would never feel afraid of the other male drakon again. Then she could truly be a part of a clan. Oh, to be around other drakon again.. where they would accept her.. where she could - no. She could never bring whelps into the world that might bear her disability.. that might be ostracized for being only half-formed. That was a selfish thought to have. She thought about Durgan's brother and sighed a little.) It must be hard to have fate decide who you are supposed to be with. Imagine having to learn to like or possibly love someone after your body has already told you you must have them. (She frowned, unconsciously squeezing his hand a little.) It's a scary thought. What if you were mated to someone you couldn't get along with? Doomed to be aroused by someone that you couldn't stand? If you want to know more about it I can tell you how to find my parents.. perhaps you could visit their dreams and know the pain and torture they put each other through. No, I don't think it's a very fair system, this drakon mating thing. Why should we have to trust the gods to pick a mate for us, how can they know the deepest desires of our hearts.?
