Subject: Do you hear it callin' in the air tonight?

He had watched over Bree and his brother all night and a good majority of the morning before Dane finally stirred. Only then had he left to go do his daily things that needed to be done, check on some tenants, so some hunting, that sort of thing. He hated being Laird with a passion because it just drew him in the spotlight even more and he knew people whispered about him enough as it was. The last thing he needed was to amplify that by being in the spotlight constantly. It didn't do well for his self esteem or his lack of desire to be around the other drakon in his clan. With a sigh, he looked up from where he was working on a field, noticing that the sun was starting to set. He hadn't slept in over twenty four hours so he figured he should probably give a try seeing as how exhaustion and flying didn't mix so well. With a wave, he headed away from the farmer who he was helping out, not caring if the man said anything because he couldn't hear him anyways and that particular crofter had not mastered telepathic speech well enough to communicate with him. With a tired yawn, he shifted and soared up to his secret cave in the hills, padding into the middle chamber and shifting back to his human form once again after lighting a fire in the corner. He gazed around for a moment before he pulled out a book from a makeshift shelf along the wall, opening it up to page 120. He was getting quite fluid in ASL, though he knew none of the Drakon's would understand why he felt compelled to learn it, especially not his brother - Zidane would never understand. Once his eyes were burning from the need for sleep, he finally closed the book and crossed over to the bed in the corner. There was also a large padded area in the middle of the huge cavern in case he felt like sleeping in dragon form but that night he stripped down naked and climbed between the sheets - the sounds of the night filling the cavern and lulling him to sleep.
