I am also 5'6 and I have had a number of people tell me that the best I ever looked was when I weighed 140. Of course I felt fat and hated it, but I just wanted to mention that for perspective.

My experience with exercise is that its main benefit is making you feel good and speeding your metabolism a little. It doesn't burn that many calories, so don't worry too much if you're not that dedicated to it.

Vegetables, fruits and whole grains are the best key to weight loss. If you can stick mostly with those and some lean protein each day, you'll never be overweight. If you do slip into eating junk, try to limit the quantity so mia has less hold on you. My experience is that I don't get tempted to binge very much if I have already put something healthy into my stomach.
