(He frowned as he listened to Skeeter fight back at his opinion. It didn't really surprise him, most people look at him and Shay and see what was a perfect situation.. but they didn't know that he had deserted her instead of trusting her.. he had done what Gia had done and run off in search of himself.. so he supposed that was why he had a bit of a soft spot for her. He knew what it was like to feel like you had fucked everything up so badly that there might be a chance nothing would work out. He arched a brow a little.) Well, if you feel that way about it, why don't you just sit down and ask her why she doesn't trust you. Find out what made her go and judge for yourself if she will do it again. Trust has to be earned both ways, and an independant heart requires time to realize that it can be held without being penned in. (He shrugged, as though his opinions didn't matter much either, he was just hoping that Skeeter might realize a few things that Remy had observed about her. He caught her looking at Skeeter and pursed his lips.) It's quite obvious from the way she looks at you that she's not thinking of giving up. (He said softly, but then his eyes moved to Chase as Skeeter mentioned him and he frowned.) He never used to.. he's done this since she came home from the hospital.. refuses to give up his post watching over her until I can do it for him. (He said and shook his head, bringing his hand up and pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger. Speaking of letting things get fucked up.. his wife had nearly died and his boy thought he had to protect her at littel over a year old.) (She kept watching Skeeter as Shay spoke, her eyes taking on that distant thoughtful look as she pondered the woman's advice. It was true that relationships took work.. she just didn't know if Skeeter was willing to let her work at it.) He doesn't trust me. I can feel it when I am near him. He thinks I am going to run off again when something bad happens. (The corner of her mouth twitched and her eyes glittered for a moment withh emotion that she quickly hid away. She smiled to hide it and looked over at Shay.) You're a lucky woman, Shay.. to have what you have.. (She said softly, her hand moving over her stomach, where her son was driving her nuts. She wondered if Shay was right.. would they work through their problems the way that Remy and Shay had? She felt like there was so much she wanted to explain to Skeeter.. she'd never accepted comfort from him, never allowed the discussion to happen before she'd left.. she'd just.. freaked out. After everything she had been through, turning to a man, any man.. had scared her. And when he'd tried to make love to her and she'd gotten scared and seen the hurt in his eyes.. naked and raw hurt.. it had shattered her. She realized as she sat there, thinking about it all, that she still felt indignant.. like she was standing at the gate to a massive estate and screaming for him.. but that he was too walled up in his own lavish home to hear her. And that.. above all.. hurt her.)
