Talan, I offer you sympathy, and I do understand that you are smarting right now. But you seem to be doing the same thing to US that your EX did to you, in that you don't seem to see or accept us women as seperate people with our own distinct personalities. You keep stating that "women" do this and "women" do that. But women are every bit as much individuals as men are and we don't ALL think, do or believe ANY one thing.
I for instance, do not care for a tendency that some of Dara's leading men exhibit (though in general I adore her stories) and this is the habit some of them have of committing what the publishing world refers to as "forced seduction" on the female lead. Now, those two words together make an oxymoron, since by definition seduction is not forced. If it is forced it has another name. However many women who visit this website disagree with me vehemently on the subject and find those scenes very sexy. And that's entirely fine, because we're all individuals and don't have to hold the same opinions to be welcome here.
Personally, I haven't the slightest desire to get involved with a man that I then have to set about molding and changing. Just as I haven't the slightest desire to become involved with a man that wants to do it me, since women don't exactly hold a patent on that mentality. If two people have so little in common, why bother? If I wanted a "fixer-upper", I'd buy a house.
