  cory or anyone, where is my book. I waited the first time four months but you let us know with updates what was going on, not this time. Now I go online to findout info and there is nothing here!!!!!!!!!! I wonder why? Please give me some info I would hate to stop ordering Daras books it already isnt easy to do. I told three people to order these books and now I feel bad that there are no books and no one talking

  I recently "discovered" a new author and a great series she's writing: Sherrilyn Kenyon and her "Dark Hunter" series. As I was paging though her website, I stumbled across a listing of her books that've been translated and sold in other countries. My jaw dropped when I saw one cover in particular -- follow this link and go to the lisings for Thailand; 3rd book down, "Night Embrace" ::chuckle:: Now tell me, does this cover look familiar, or what?

  BTW: I really enjoy Kenyon's "Dark Hunter" series. It's para-normal romance laced with a lot of friendly(?) banter between characters and well though out characters. I would recommend the series... After Dara, of course. ::wink::

• Christine Feehan's Dark series -- ~Rita, Thursday, October 13, 09:30:13am [4]
  I've read all of Christine Feehan's Dark series. However, I don't think I'll continue reading the last 2 or 3 that are to complete them series. Why? Well... Quite honestly, I think Christine has fallen into a rut. While the premise of the storyline is a good one and one I did enjoy getting into, I noticed something disturbing within the last few books -- There's nothing new. Just change the names of the main characters and that's it. Certainly, I can understand it's not always easy to keep things fresh, but...oh well... ::shrug:: Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the series and I do think she is a very good author. ::smile::
  
  As for the new Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon... When I read my first book I thought it was going to be a take-off on Christine's ideas. It wasn't. What I like about this new series is the friendly(?) banter between the characters. (Several times, I've nearly spewed my drink all over the book! I like the humor.) Also, each main character has a completely different history. (She's using all of history to pull her characters from.)

  Dear Readers,
  
  
  We wanted to keep you updated on the book. We apologize for the delay;
  we had no idea
  that the printing schedule would be so prolonged. We are going to
  change the entire set
  up the next time we go to press to safeguard against this happening
  again - but for right
  now this project is locked in the middle of this process which,
  unfortunately, has been set
  back by various factors (the larger size of the print run, the heavy
  scheduling at the
  printers, and, of course, the hurricane which had a huge impact down
  the line on supplies
  and fulfillment). There is still a slight back up with the additional
  runs that the printers
  had to squeeze in when some of the other presses went down and the work
  needed to be
  spread out to those presses that could handle this kind of specialized
  printing but they are
  catching up. They have promised that they will get to our job as
  quickly as possible and
  we are guessing that means sometime within the next month. I will
  continue to keep you
  informed.

  Just wanted to say that you should get my nephew for your next book cover. He is into medieval reenacting, but not just the cosmetics of it. He actually taught himself metal smithing (via a forge, not a torch) and produces historically acurate replicas. So when he gets all duded up in his armour or kilt, with his battle axes and swords and his hair in a scottish warrior cut, he really does look like he stepped through a "time dilation device".

  I just wanted to drop a line and say Hello. I had my Baby boy, Scott Preston Hall, on September 20th, and he is an 8 pound, 20 inch little porker!! I hope all is going well with the Book Pam, and that Nikki is loving her new Home and was not harmed from the hurricanes and stormes that are rolling over those areas.I did drop in to see if anyone was in Chat, and found noone.   I just wanted to apologize for sounding so nasty about your good fortune in not getting hurricane rita in your back yard. I guess I was feeling a little bit sorry for myself and I was angry about what was happening here. It has been 8 days and we still do not have power, but the good thing is that I actually had a real conversation with my family without the daily interuptions of life. My father rigged a way for me to charge my laptop by hooking it up to a tractor and using an inverter???. I felt really guilty and wanted to get on line and say I am so sorry. Thanks for your patience with my selfishness. Hopefully FEMA will make it here to inspect the house so we can move. They have been great about bringing in food and ice the last few days.   July 23 - 10 weeks ago we were told:
  UPDATE ON BOOK Just wanted to let everyone know the status of the book. We know you are all anxious to get your copy and that's a good thing as Martha would say. As you know this is an out of the ordinary process but with all of us pulling together, it will come together fine in the end. Right now the printer is heavily backed up because they are printing school books for fall.   6 weeks later we were told:

  Some of you have already written to us asking if the hurricane will affect the release of the book and we want to respond to your concerns. As we mentioned in our last letter the printers were backed up at that time and we were expected to go to press within the next 3-4 weeks. Cory was told yesterday, however, that the schedule now COULD be impacted by the availability of supplies and other factors that may have been affected by the hurricane, including transport issues as well. (Our initial print run turned out to be much larger than what we originally anticipated- this resulted in it being more difficult to squeeze the printing into the shorter schedule we originally hoped for.) We will know more in the days to come and keep you apprised of this situation as soon as we have firm information.
  
  Dara stated "we will know more in the days to come and keep you apprised of the situation..." 22 days later and still no information on what is happing with the books.
  
  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Dara's books and want to see her continue writing them for many many years to come. I know this is a HUGE undertaking and I'm sure it's getting bigger by the day. I have no problem waiting 2 more months for the book if that's how long it's going to take. The only thing I have a problem with is not being kept informed of the progress.
  
  I own a small business myself, and if I missed deadlines and did not keep my customers informed (weekly and sometimes daily) on what was happing with product they ordered, I would not keep those customers. I don't think a quick post in Fanspeak Gardens once a week with updates would be too much to ask, and I know I would not be the only big Fan of Dara's that would appreciate the status reports.

• RE:Hurricane Rita and Red Cross Shelters -- JoAnn, Tuesday, September 27, 08:04:35pm [1]
  Hi Ladies, Just wanted to share a little with all of you. The little town I live in opened a shelter for the vitcims of Hurricane Rita. This is the first time I have voluteered so it was a new experience for me as well as the people that were seeking shelter. I had 149 people on my hall. There was one large family consisting of both grandmothers, the fathers, mothers, and children ranging in ages from about 1yr. to 17 yrs. This family was on the road 27 1/2 hours getting to us in what should have been a 7 hour drive. They had no food or water because every place they could get off the road was closed, they could not use their air conditioners for 2 reasons-not enough gas and the traffic was moving so slowly the cars would overheat. The children didn't know what to expect form a shelter, all they knew was what they have seen and heard on the news (which is not good) they were frightned from the storm,not knowing where they where going if their homes would still be there. Every member of this family that could write from children to grandmothers wrote a daily journal of their feeling and emotions. They were with us for 5 days and nights, when they left they made copies of their journals and wrote me a letter ( each one of them) I wish that I could share those with you all, but since I can't let me just say their is no more humbling experience than making a child feel safe and secure enough that for a little while they can be children again. God Bless and Pray for all the hurricane vitcims whether they or from Rita or Katrina.

  I am so sorry that you only received a little wind from hurricane Rita. I wish I was as lucky. I am now homeless. The wind took out our power lines, moved my whole house forward, and dumped three trees in the middle of it. To add injury to insult, the trees busted our water line. We have no electricity (I am on a laptop with two hours remaining in order to register for FEMA assistance...Ugh)it is 100 plus degrees here and people are dying of heat stroke. We finally got water...not me, I have to borrow from the neighbors...but it will be greater than 3 weeks before anyone will even come to our town to even look at restoring our electricity. For two days I didn't even have access to a toilet. Just about everything I own is wet. Wanna trade with me?

  Well, THAT was a big disapointment! Granted, at the time I wrote my message, Rita was a strong Cat 4 going into a Cat 5, and was headed streight for Houston. Then at the last minute she takes a right hand turn -(Boy I'm glas she doesn't drive a car!) And what did we get for all the worry and stress and preparations we went through??? A breeze. Thats it! Not even any rain, which we despretly need!AND we are still in the triple digets! So to all of you, Thank you for well wishes. I don't know how the rest of the MOD Squaders faired down here but I am fine and just a little disapointed.

  Hi there everyone,
  I just thought I'd say hello before we might not have any more electricity. Rita is going to hit the coast on Friday and it looks like we're in for a long weekend! Yes it is going to come up as far as Austin and even further before it turns into a Tropical Depression again....so, we have done what we can, filled up on water, flashlights and batteries. We have plenty of food. We have tied down our camper as much as we can and filled up our cars before the gas goes up! so I am hoping everything won't be needed but with this, you never know.

  Hello Everyone ((((((((Everyone))))))))
  
  As many of you know...I'm leaving for Egypt soon. Egypt has always been a deep passion of mine...instilled into my heart by my Grandfather(((((((((((Grandpa))))))))))...and after two previous failed attempts to visit there...I am finally on my way. For me...this is not just a trip...or a vacation...but more of a "search for the Holy Grail" in my life so to speak...starting from my Grandfather's Grandfather...and his Grandfather before him...hundreds of years of a secret devotion...a love of the Ancient Secrets...being passed along to me. It has been a fundamental elemnet in our lives for many generations. And I am beside myself with excitement and anticipation. Unless something major happens there (which it could and has) I leave in early November. I am starting my trip by flying to Milan/Italy...and from Italy...I'll be flying to Cairo to see the Great Pyramids, and the enigmatic Sphinx...built with the Secret Strength, Beauty, and Wisdom of the Ancients...along with taking a drive to the beautiful city of Alexandria...then I'll be flying 500 miles up the Nile Valley to the lovely town of Aswan...where I will be catching a smaller plane to fly to the huge sandstone temples of Abu Simbel...from there I will board a boat hotel to begin a cruise on the Nile...where I will be stopping to visit the Temple Of Isis...which was transplanted from the now submerged island of Philae...and I will be docking at Kom Ombo, to walk to its bluff top temple deticated to the Gods...then I will climb into a carrige for a drive through Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, built in Cleopatra's time...about 2,000 years ago...stopping afterwards in Esna...to visit the markets there...and do some shopping...then boarding the Hotel Boat once more...I will end my cruise...docking in Luxor...where I will visit the remarkable Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens on the west bank of the Nile...Deir El-Bahari, Queen Hatshepsut's monumental rock temple...the two Collossi of Memnon gaurding the valleys...the Luxor Temple...and last but not least...I will end my stay in Egypt...by visiting the beautiful monuments of Karnak...to walk among the pillars of the Temple of Amon Ra...and along the Avenue of the Sphinxes...then I will be coming back to America...this is just the basics...but there is so much more...there are still so many things to do before my trip...so between work and studying I will not have time to come here anymore before I go...so I am here now to say goodbye...and I'll miss you all...I will admit that there is definately an element of danger involved by me going...especially since I am going alone...but I will do my best to come back to all of you safe and sound...please know that no matter how far away I am *puts hand on heart* you will all always be right here with me...I love you guys...I'll miss you soooo much!...*Hugs and Kisses*...see you soon.

Get an empty frame and put it around the stain and set your 4 yr old down next to it and get a picture...something to story tell with when their older and their friends come over. LOL My 18 yr old son hates it when I tell people the 911 story, & my daughter cringes when I tell the suppository story! Me, I finally quit giving my mom the look when she tells the playpen story.   Rainy day cure for dog odor
  Next time your dog comes in from the
  rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer
  sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.
  
  Eliminate ear mites
  All it takes is a few drops of Wesson corn oil in your cat's ear.
  Massage it in, then clean with
  a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat's

  Dear Readers,
  
  Some of you have already written to us asking if the hurricane will affect the release of the book and we want to respond to your concerns. As we mentioned in our last letter the printers were backed up at that time and we were expected to go to press within the next 3-4 weeks. Cory was told yesterday, however, that the schedule now could be impacted by the availability of supplies and other factors that may have been affected by the hurricane, including transport issues as well. (Our initial print run turned out to be much larger than what we originally anticipated- this resulted in it being more difficult to squeeze the printing into the shorter schedule we originally hoped for.) We will know more in the days to come and keep you apprised of this situation as soon as we have firm information. Just know that your books are in process and on the road to getting to you. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
  
  In the wake of the terrible tragedy that has hit the Gulf Coast region, many of us are still waiting for any word of news from loved ones. As we pray for the well being for those hit by this horrific storm let us join in sending aid to our friends and neighbors who need our help. Please consider contributing to the victims of Katrina at one of the many reputable charitable organizations. You can reach the Salvation Army at 1-800-SAL-ARMY or

  Since your dog is allergic, I would check not only check with the health food stores, but your vet. They sometimes have remedies they use...like the one they suggested when my dogs faced down a skunk. LOL Frontline is excellent if your dog isn't allergic to that. It wasn't working for me but the vet told me to use it every month instead of every 3 months...no more fleas on the dogs.
  
  If you also have them in the house, I would suggest a flea bomb from the vet, while your dog is boarded for a few days. Fleas lay eggs constantly one after the other and never stop, and since they can jump so high they are everywhere. Set off your flea bomb, vacume floors, curtains, furniture wash all the bedding...etc. An exterminator can also spray your yard.

If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If you are receiving this it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go to this site and vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same.
  
  There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy", where women are forced to go home hours after surgery against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.
  
  Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.

  OK ...I too am a Dara fan but I didnt know of the 4th MOD book! I have waited forever it seems and somehow while staying busy,my favorite past time,reading books,waiting for more Dara Joy books to be released I missed "That Familiar Touch" !! I have looked it up and its selling on ebay starting bid $50.! How can I get a copy?? Are they on sell through this site?? Geez..I cant believe I missed my chance..Do you wanna know how many times I have reread all your available books..??? I have also recruited more fans by passing the books to friends they are also now addicted and await more MOD books..Geez I love Rejar,Traed..OK I love them all...   Hello everyone, (((((((((Everyone)))))))))
  
  I have a story for you while you wait...
  
  I work with a man who survived a commercial airline crash in the early 1980's. His plane was carrying over 200 passengers. The reason why he surrvived was because he was sitting in the very back row of the plane, which is reinforced in order to protect the "black box" underneath his seat from being destroyed in a crash. (The black box is the voice recorder which is what authorities listen to in the event of a plane crash.) I'm not trying to creep anyone out here...but I found that he told me something I never knew, and I thought I would pass it on.
  
  Have you ever seen movies where a plane is about to crash, the oxygen masks drop down, and every one is panicking, screaming, crying ect? And reasonably so? Well he said that that's not what really happens. He said that the oxygen masks do drop down, and do provide oxygen...but only for a short while. If the pilot believes that the crash is going to be fatel, without a chance of survivors, he cuts the oxygen to the passenger cabin, not only to reduce the explosion...but mainly so that the passengers pass out from lack of O2, or "fall asleep"...so they do not experience the horror and pain of hitting on impact.
  
  After the crash, he was taken into a briefing room where authorities asked him questions about what happened. One of the questions that they asked him was "Were you tired...did you feel like you were going to pass out?" And he replied that yes he was so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes open or his head up. Which would be unusual considering how much adrenalin would be running threw some ones body in such an event. Indicating to them that the pilot knew the crash would be fatel, and none the less, cut the oxygen...as a last attempt for humanity...to ease his passengers...knowing he was going to die.
  
  I truly appologize if this post bothers anyone. I found it too heroic, not to share with everyone.

  I'm on the beach, at the base of a cluster of palm trees, its about 85 with a gentle breeze, I've spread out blankets and have cushioned beach chair on the ground. At the side is a low table with a large strawberry daquari and fresh fruits to nibble on...first I lean back and shut my eyes, take a deep breath and slowly let it out, open my eyes and enjoy the scenery for a few, sip my daquari, and let the reading begin. : )

  Have there been any updates on the lawsuit? Are things still in discussion, or have they completely expired? Any chance of it ever getting resolved?

  I was wondering if Dara might be writing tons of books and when this messy law suit is over she might be ready to unleash lots of books for us to all catch up on?? I love the MOD books and would love to see more but I also fell for the characters in "tonight or never" and could see quite a few more books wrote with them in mind. Then there is Tyber and Zanita,I cant wait to see their new adventures,(is Tyber really a familiar??) All the books are sexy,romantic and filled with a sense of humor,I want more... :)

• UPDATE ON BOOK Just wanted to let everyone know the status of the book. We know you are all anxious to get your copy and that's a good thing as Martha would say. As you know this is an out of the ordinary process but with all of us pulling together, it will come together fine in the end. Right now the printer is heavily backed up because they are printing school books for fall. (at least the back-up is for a good cause) We are probably looking at shipment in the later weeks of August but I will keep you updated. I hope that everyone will be patient and understand that your books are in the process of getting to you. In the meantime I am putting up an excerpt. Enjoy!   Walking into the room, I notice a huge party has been thown.Looking around there are streamers and confetti all over the place. Ballons and every where too, from the celeing to haning in mid air to laying on the floor. Champange bottles and glasses are also littering the tables and floors. And speaking of floors, that is where the bodies are. Well most of them. Some are sitting on the couch or chairs groaning and and holding their heads. I see Chris standing over M and poking her with something as M mutters something and turns over. Hmmm, I missed a great party it looks like.
