In reply to: Dara 's message, "Rescue efforts in Lousiana, Mississippi, and Alabama need our help. If you would like to contribute to the effort, please consider making a donation to one of the relief organizations, You can reach the Salvation Army at 1-800-SAL-ARMY to make a donation." on Tuesday, August 30, 01:53:32pm

please allow me to voice my oppinion on this tragedy:

i, and many other people that i know, are absolutly disgusted in how these people have been neglected in this disaster. people are dieing on the streets over there...and all we hear is excuses...and serious disorganization. though it may not bring much comfort...there is some hope. and there are so many people who do care. a friend of mine at work is a volunteer paramedic/fireman. him and around 50 other volunteer fireman/paramedics from all around the ChicagoLand area have gotten a hold of 4 large buses, which they are loading up with all that they can for the victims...and are driving there over the long weekend. myself, and many other people from my office donated money to buy supplies, and are taking time off of work, to spend the day tomarrow loading up these buses with food, water, and other supplies before they leave. we have also had the honor of being asked to accompany them if we should decide to. though many outside rescue efforts have been ridiculously denied...these truly compasionate people...are not taking no for answer.

we know it isnt much...as much as we would like it to be...but one small effort could go along way.

we'll be praying for them.
