Good luck to all of the recital dancers as well as our competition kids. I would like to be among the first to say how sad I am to see Jenna Branner at her last recital at Weir Dancing. Jenna you have been an inspiration to all of us and we know that you will succeed in all that you do. Your beautiful smile and great attitude has been amazing. You are such an wonderful dancer and even more important a beautiful person in every definition of the word!!! We will miss you and your family more than you can ever know. It is hard to imagine a day at Weir without you. Thank you for all that you have done and wishing to you all the best that life has to offer.

Thanks for inviting us to attend your wonderful dance production at CATA in Monroe. We were so impressed with the overall show and the quality of the dance and of course the incredible technique and style displayed by the dancers. It's obvious that you work hard every day you are at school. You are so lucky to be able to attend a school of this caliber in Union county. The only school we have like this in SC is Governor's School in Greenville and to attend, you must live on campus year round. You girls get all the benefits of a well respected arts school, get to stay home and STILL have the chance to do what you love most, compete for Weir Dancin's competition team! We are so proud of both of you for your commitments to dance, school, your families and friends. If any of you other dancers live in Union county, you need to check this school out for your dancers. Go to just one of their shows and you will be completely impressed.

Hi All!
This gal is a neighbor of ours—Marcie babysits for her on occasion and the girls LOVE her school supplies. They are really fun people, and Jackie’s personality shows through in this interview….and she is doing something great for leukemia. I spoke to her yesterday and told her about my Dad having leukemia, and she said she is amazed about how many people she knows have been touched by leukemia in some way. Look for her stuff next time you need a notebook or stationary—the back will say “Designed by Jacqueline Savage McFee”. You may already have some of it in your house…we did before we even met her.

Allyson & Nina,
We've never met; however, I just wanted to send a little thanks to some of your girls from the studio. We were at WILD this past weekend and your girls in the junior room were wonderful! Not only are they talented, but they were also so sweet and kind... we had a couple younger kids in the same room... while they were all practicing a few last times for the audition/finale, some of our kids asked your girls to help. And they accepted so graciously! It's so nice to see such young kids so generous and willing to help!
So, as a studio owner and teacher, I just wanted to pass along the thanks to those girls and to let you know how sweet they were this weekend! Thanks, congrats, and good luck this dance season!

Date Posted: 14:13:35 11/06/07 Tue

I've had a few requests for directions to Central Academy of Technology and Arts (CATA). You should arrive 10 minutes or more before the 7:30pm performances:

From Monroe Road in Matthews: Straight down Monroe Road thru Downtown Monroe to Lancaster Highway. Turn Right on Lancaster Highway and school is less than 2 miles on right (across from cemetary). This will take you about 30-40 minutes because of traffic.

From the studio- Left out of parking lot onto Sam Newell. Sam Newell to Independence Blvd, turn right. Take Independence Blvd to Monroe Mall. Turn Right at the light just before the mall (Dixon Avenue I think-across the street from K Mart, just a short distance beyond Wal Mart)and take Dixon Avenue to Old Charlotte Highway (about 2 or 3 lights) and turn Left (there is a Citgo gas station on the far corner). Follow Old Charlotte Highway thru downtown Monroe past courthouse to light at Lancaster Highway. Turn right onto Lancaster Highway and the school is less than 2 miles on the right (across the street from cemetary). This way will take about 30 minutes from the studio (if traffic is bad maybe a bit more).

From I-485 to Providence Road Exit: Take Providence (HWY 16) to Weddington.(takes about 7 minutes) Turn left onto Hwy 84 (at Weddington United Methodist Church) and follow until it ends at Franklin Street (just after you cross railroad tracks). Turn left at this light and follow Franklin until Old Charlotte Highway (First Charter Bank on right corner). Turn right onto Old Charlotte Highway and go about 1 or 2 lights to Lancaster Highway and turn right. School is about 2 miles on the right (across the street from cemetary). From the Highway 84 intersection it will take about 20 minutes.

I can be reached on my cell phone until about 7:20 if you get lost. 704-309-6004 Hope to see many of you there.

Weir Family,

Thank you to all who have called to check on J. He is fine and on the mend. For those that have not heard J was in another serious accident last week. Last week was also one full since his last wreck. J was not driving this time but he was sleeping again. J and his brother Brandon were on there way to work at 630am when a young boy fell asleep and crossed the line and hit them head on, they said he was going about 70. Brandon was driving and J was in the passenger side. J suffered a bruised knee and his seat belt caught him in the hip and bruised his kidney. He also cut and briused his elbow. All minor and the seat belt saved a life once again. Brandon, his brother took most of the inpact and sprained his ankle and shoulder and has chest bruises from seat belt and back issues. They both were joking when I arrived at the scene that they had to climb out of my car Nascar style. Brandon will be slow in recovering with full body aches, but will be just fine as well. I would like to ask our Weir family to pray for the boy and his family. His name is Anthony Moyles. We were told although he would recover but, he is serious. Once agin J has been spared any serious injury due to seat belt and I pray that more and more people realize it does save lives. Thanks for all your love.
On a lighter note I can not wait to see the dances for next year and I already miss you all so much. J was planing on coming to some tech. classes soon. He will be in touch. Brenda

Anyone that is interested in getting the K360s for tap there is a store that has them for $115.
With taps and shipping it comes to about $130.
Bakers here in Charlotte can do the New York build up for $50. No sending the shoes to NYC and paying $90 plus shipping.
The website is www.secondskinshop.com.

Peoples! This is a great buy on a fairly new Capezio K360's tap shoe that is a man's size 6 1/2 which should measure to a 7 or 7 1/2 ladies.

Too small for Kenzie (darn) But a great buy for someone. They normally sell $350.00 new and the item is at $127 and expiring at 5:00 p.m. today. The number above is the Ebay number..

Good luck as I have only seen one K360 tap shoe for sale on ebay....they are just not there ....really rare and great buy.

We need volunteers to bring side dishes, fixings, deserts, and drinks. Please sign up on the office window for an item or two. We also need a couple of grills with cooks attached please, coolers filled with ice, and easy-up type tents for shade.

Hello to All!

We are planning on having our annual "Studio Beautification Day" this coming Saturday, and would like to invite you to come on out and join us. (That's our way of asking you to volunteer a few hours to help us to "spruce up" the studio for the coming season:-).)
We had a lot of fun last year (granted it took a few of us several rounds of baths and showers before the paint came off our bodies. Ask Hayley Davis, Maddisson Sheppard, Maggie & Marcie Amos as they are the experts in this field!!
But since everybody did such a fabulous job last year, we only need to do some touch up painting, clean out the rooms and whatever else we encounter on Saturday.
If you are willing to give us a few hours of your time, let someone in the office know that we can count on you.
We will probably start about 10 a.m. and you can join us at any time:-)

Thank you so much!!

Allyson, Nina, Fritz & Annette

Hey all, had a fantastic time yesterday at the big party. I had a brand new pair of rainbows on the dock that were underneath my clothes. They were white with fabric strap and top. Did anyone happen to get them by mistake.

Thanks

It's hard to believe one more year has come and gone in our dancer's lives. There were so many new friends we made this year with so many new dancers joining our studio! We hope you had a wonderful year becoming part of the Weir Dancin' family. I am sure you really do see now that not only are our dancers AWESOME, but the dance families are a LOT OF FUN! The entire competition year and of course nationals in Myrtle Beach was a BLAST. I personally loved our time at Jump and Pulse in Greenville and Atlanta and I especially enjoyed the chance to get to know the new dance parents better. Honestly, I don't know what I will do without all of my dance friends when Taylor graduates high school in two short years. Being a part of Weir Dancin' is so much more than just sending your dancer to class and watching them at a few competitions. Being a part of Weir Dancin' is truly becoming a family member. I have never seen so much love shared between children as I have watching these kids of all ages bond and support one another. Watching our older dancers go crazy cheering for our younger dancers and vice versa was so inspirational to me as a parent. I know I have done the right thing bringing Taylor to Weir at 9 years old. I feel as though the studio has had a strong influence in the character development both of my children demonstrate. Watching Riley support all of the kids and celebrating the Victory Cup wins with his sister was the best.

To other parents considering Weir Dancin' as a potential studio for your dancer, as a parent you will never make a better choice. Not only will your child become an amazing dancer. He or she will become friends with some of the best and brightest children in the Carolinas. Our dancers at Weir are not only great dancers, they are exceptional students (most are honor roll students in honors classes) and leaders and are involved in community service, school activities and church activities. At WD, you are surrounding your children with positive role models that have excellent time managements skills and are NOT prone to peer pressure. These kids are good kids on the right track to be successful not only in dance, but in life. Personally, I am grateful to have discovered Weir Dancin' and I am thankful to everyone at the studio for your dedication to helping me raise my daughter.

Good luck to all of you during auditions! I hope to see all of you back again and hope you will bring your friends to dance at our studio.

SOOO... IT'S MONDAY AND I AM STILL TIRED!!!!! HAHA BUT IT FEELS AMAZING TO HAVE COME HOME WINNING EVERYTHING WE DID!!! I DO NOT THINK IT HAS HIT ME QUITE YET... BUT AS ALLYSON SAID THE "TWINS" WILL BE LOVELY TO LOOK AT EVERY TIME WE WALK INTO THE STUDIO :O)

I was extremely impressed with how everyone did. We laughed we cried... I think every emotion was felt this week. It was just simply amazing!!!

SENIOR company- you all ARE RIDICULOUSLY SICK ON STAGE!! You guys rocked it out!!! I cannot believe at how grown you all are. It makes me feel so old. I have watched you all grow up and I really could not be prouder. For the ones who are graduates and moving on... you all know I am always and forever here for you. I wish you the absolute best of luck in your futures, even though you all will not be far we better see you all atleast once a week- haha!!

TEEN company- ummm yeah let me try not to tear up here. YOU ALL ARE MY LIFE!! Never have I felt such love from a group of people than I do you all. You all have been there for me through my ups and downs. Honestly you all have taught ME to "believe in something". From the sisterly like fights we have, to the sprint runs because you all cant listen on certain nights, through the laughs and tears - you guys know how much you mean to me!!! It scares me how amazingly talented you all are... or maybe its just because ya'll are SWOOP NASTY! and no one can come close!! haha I am so extremely proud of you guys... beyond what words can say.

JUNIOR company- WHAT CAN I SAY!!!!!!!!? ahhhhhhhhhhh you guys ROCKED MY LYRICAL WORLD!!!!!! haha. you all have grown so much in such a short amount of time I cannot wait to see what happens in the next year!! You all know I LOVE ya'll more than life too!!!! Through everything, you guys always put a smile on my face. With the constant hugs I get from you all, it always make my days brighter. Your performances at the battle were unreal. I was beyond elated!!!

MINI company- HOT LITTLE MAMAS with BIG ATTITUDE is all I can say. You guys rocked it out this week!!!! You all are our future and I cannot wait to see what happens. All I know is its will be a big bright future- filled with big bright trophies like the ONE YOU WON AT BATTLE OF THE STARS- FIRST PLACE!!! SO AWESOME!!!!!!

TINY company- can you guys get any CUTER!!!!? You guys rocked it out this week with everyone else and being the youngest out of all our companies. WEIR so proud of how wonderful you all performed!!

PARENTS- you all cracked me up!!! You guys were awesome and if any studio were to win a BATTLE OF PARENTAL SUPPORT you all would take it hands down!!!!! I know the kids loved every minute of it while being on stage. Keep it going for the seasons and years ahead!!!! We are the cowbell studio!!!!

ALLYSON, ERICA & JESS- Thanks for everything... you know what I mean by that. I am so lucky to have people like you in my life. I could'nt imagine working day to day with any other people.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR SUCH AN AWESOME YEAR!! ENJOY YOUR TIME OFF AS WE HEAD INTO THE NEXT AUDITION AND 2007- 2008 SEASON!!!

MUCH LOVE,
NINA~*

NEVER have we won more and looked better-I say this with a confidence because of the enormous group effort that went into our nationals at StarPower this past week-the dancers were at their very best yet(ever to be exact), the teachers worked hard to prepare the kids before performing-Prop PARENTS worked hard staying on top of the schedule and getting things on stage on time and our PARENTS CHEERED like never before, and the results speak for themselves! This kind of FAMILY SUPPORT lends itself to the sweetest of successes-namely the two beautilful TWINS we brought to the studio today (THE 2 VICTORY CUPS!!!)

DANCERS-remember how it felt to perform as you did-you were the most fabulous performers we've had and danced with such passion I was speechless at each performance-from the very youngest to the graduating seniors-you were what we as teachers/directors have dreamed you would be all along.

PROP PARENTS-YOU earned those twins as much as the rest of us-YOU made it all come together with your unselfish devotion to our studio as a whole-we thank u!

STAFF-Nina, Jessica, and Erica I have never been more proud of every effort and display of dance in our studio as with what you all have produced this year-BAR NONE-YOU HAVE OUT DONE YOURSELVES with an also unselfish devotion to our cause and why we do all we do-wanting the best for the kids. The WEIR kids are so blessed, as i am, to share the studio with you all!

THE SCHULTES-Your efforts in the studio day in and out have contributed more than words can say to mold the studio into a solid foundation that we can all enjoy and do what we do best-THANK YOU for your undying love and devotion to our passion!

GRADUATING SENIORS-there are no more words-i hope u you all know how much you mean to me and always will-YOU have left an impression on all of us that we will continue to carry for years to come-May God bless you in your futures ahead-WE LOVE U

To Those Moving Toward The Season Ahead: May God continue to bless us all with the ability to share our love for dance and May we take the successes of the week past to teach us that as many-we are strong and can attain even the most unimaginable goals-we as a Family can conquer it all!

Looking forward to the banquet and starting it all again August 8th-
CONGRATS TO ALL!!!!
Much Love-
Allyson

Weir Family,

Well we are about two weeks from an ending I have been dreading all year. As most of you know all three of my kids have come thru this studio since 1988. I have watched Mrs Allyson go from dancing her heart out in class and on stage to putting all that same heart into teaching, and running a truly wonderful family studio. I watched Nina in the same respect. Just two of many wonderful teachers that have played a big part in the direction my children have gone. Each and every teacher that my children have had the blessing of being influenced by says it all. Brandon had Carla, Pat, Janet. And through them he grew up with the confidence to perform in front of people and the funniest comedian I seen in a long time. Now to just get him back on stage. Nena went thru them all I think...Carla, Pat, Janet, Veronica, Kim, Casey, Tracy plus all the amazing choreographers Weir brought in. Now Nena has become a wife and mother with more maturity than most young ladies her age and the best mommy ever. Thanks to the influence of her dance mommies. Then there is "J" my baby boy, my little man since he could walk. He has gone thru... Janet, Pat, Alyson, Lisa, Tracy, Susanne, Nina, as well as the special choregraphers. I can say that he has trully put his entire heart and soul into dance and into Weir Dancin. I remember the first time I caught him trying to flip over on his head on our concrete drive way. I think Nena was trying to be Mrs Janet and using "J" as her student. It was then I took him right to the studio and put him in gymnastics. It is so hard for me / us to say goodbye to all of this. "J" came to the studio in 1992 with his little mulet and the heart of performer. I think he has changed hairstyles more in 15 years than any girl at the studio including all the crazy wigs used over the years. I still can not believe that "J" never ever put on a tap shoe in his life. O... Tracy tried but J stood strong. "Not for me" he said just not in my heart. That is one thing about "J" if he could not put all in had in something then he stayed away from it. Just like high school wanting him to be the mascot and a cheerleader, he tried but his heart was here at Weir. He has taken some major ribbing in the social world with losing many friends because he chose to dance instead of the traditional sports life. Weir family and friends were more than enough for him.
I watched "J" walk away from a wreck last year that should have been the end of his dream. The doctors did reply that the strength he had physically, played a huge role in surviving and recovering from this wreck. I owe Weir Dancin for this as well. I have watched my son grow into a very happy, responsible young man. No doubt this too came from all the wonderful people he grew up with at Weir.
My family and I have traveled to nationals for over 10 years now and this will be our last one. Our family vacation every sinlge year has been where the nationals were. I can not thank everyone at Weir enough for the memories. It is really funny how alot of this years songs are about goodbyes, endings, break ups, etc. The production is based on the 80's when we first came to the studio and now it is all about to end. Although "J" says he will have Tre' dancing here in about 2 years. I think he better talk that one over with Nena and Jamie first. We will see!
Well as you all watch your little angels on stage nationals this year just remember how much we are all blessed with a amazing studio and staff and just how much that they have sacrificed to bring our children where they are today. Lets not forget our wonderful children and ourselves as well... as a family we all deserve credit for what we see on that stage. I will be watching all the performers from Weir and remember the first time I saw each and everyone of them the first time. I know as I watch "J" this one last time performing with his one true family I will need a whole box on kleenex for the tears and sadness. I will be thinking of all the times he needed help to just do a simple head roll to watching him sour thru the air in amazing flips. But I will also feel all the blessings this dance family has provided over the years... Thank You, Allyson, Nina, Suzanne,Annette, Fritz, and all the staff at Weir. To all the remaining dancers may God Bless you all and keep you dancing. Remember no dream is too big and no star is too far out of reach. To all the Weir parents that helped each of my kids over the years in one way or another thank you as well.I will never forget the countless nights we sat in the lobby and at long never ending competition weekends all for one common goal....to see our children build and have their own dreams. I will miss you all next year. I will keep the whole Weir Dancin Family in my prayers for years to come. Who knows maybe we will be back in a few years with grandbabies and / or "J" coming back home to teach.
God Bless,
Brenda

Thank you kids for the most exciting time of my life! You rocked my world and I will forever have so many awesome memories of this past week with you incredible kids.

Thank you parents for working extra hard at the props and making the effort to watch the kids perform~and~cheering as if you were at the SuperBowl! Way to go!

Seniors---you are amazing! "Stop Believing" has just been added to my ipod so that when I listen to it again...I can reflect on you and the most amazing performance I have ever seen in my life! The song has such a new meaning now thanks to you kids.

All of our crazy kids in Production...You make it look so fun! You worked hard this year, loved one another and truly kept it real. The image of 70+ kids running toward the center of the stage when MTV was called as Victory Cup winners will forever be cemented in my brain!

Mini's -WOW first time ever you guys took first in the cup catagory placement since I've been here. Vogue looked amazing as did Baby I'm a Star. You all did a FABULOUS job! Great work.

WOW.... what an end to an amazing year!!! WEIR bringing back to Charlotte the award and banner for overall high score, and not one but TWO Victory Cups!!! A true triple crown. Congratulations to all of our dancers for an entire week of numbers that were just rockin it. I remember being in Ocean City a few years ago and thinking that nothing would ever top that, well I was wrong. What you young ladies and gentleman achieved is nothing short of amazing. Not only did you clean up on stage with your performances, you also were complemented by the staff of Starpower on how polite and well behaved you were and how you were always so supportive of the other studios. To Allyson, Nina, Jessica and Erica we say thank you for putting together such amazing choreography that not only challenges our kids but also showcases their talent. It was a long tiring week but one that I will never forget. I have to say thanks to all of the prop guys and gals...it has been so much fun this year hanging out backstage and watching things from behind the scenes with you all. One of the most amazing things that happened for me this week was when the dancers came up to us and hugged each of us and thanked us for working the props for them. I don't think they realized how much that meant to each and everyone of us. To our graduating seniors, what more can be said. You made each of us smile watching you perform for your last time and to go out a with a double victory cup...as Allison Spantgos said to me afterwards, you can't do better than that and I must agree. Look forward to seeing you all at the banquet next month and again Congrats

All I can say is WOW! I watched the Battle today on the internet and I was so proud to call myself a WD Alum. Congratulations on your Victory Cups! You guys looked great and you definitely deserved it.

Allyson and Nina - Such amazing and innovative choreography from both of you! I was very impressed not only by the dancing, but the professionalism of all the dancers win or lose. Like I said, and I think I speak for all of us alum out there, you make us proud to have called Weir home.

PS: That MTV dance was pretty much the most awesome dance I have seen in a long time, and I wish we had done it when I was still dancing!
