WELL SAID BELOW ALLYSON!!!

THIS SEASON HAS DEFINITELY BEEN AN INTERESTING ONE FOR EVERYONE, I AM SURE. HOWEVER, EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS RISEN ABOVE AND BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS WITH CLASS, DETERMINATION ALONG WITH A LITTLE BIT OF HUMOR TO MAKE THE ABSOLUTE BEST YEAR AND A SUCCESSFUL ONE IN MY EYES.
TO OUR DANCERS- YOU HAVE DONE AN ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFUL JOB ON THOSE STAGES AND OVERCAME PERSONAL CHALLENGES AND REACHED THE GOALS SET OUT SINCE THE BEGINING OF THE YEAR. THOSE SUCCESSES MAKE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU A WINNER!!

PARENTS- THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AT THE STUDIO. WE APPRECIATE SO MUCH YOU TRUSTING US AND ALLOWING US TO GIVE YOUR KIDS THE BEST TRAINING POSSIBLE. YOU ALL HAVE BEEN A RIOT THIS YEAR COMING OUT WITH THOSE COW BELLS. (THANK YOU MIKI!!) THEY ARE AN INTERESTING NOISE MAKER, BUT BY FAR THE BEST ONE EVER! YOU KNOW I HAVE ONE OF MY OWN AND WILL BE RIGHT THERE WITH YOU ALL RINGING IT LIKE CRAZY!!!

TO THE SENIORS- WOW!- AM I REALLY SO OLD THAT YOU ALL ARE GRADUATING!? IT FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY THAT I WAS JUST LEAVING THE STAGE AND STUDIO VENTURING OUT TO UNCOMMON TERRITORIES OF MY LIFE- [ALTHOUGH LOOK WHERE IT BROUGHT ME BACK TO! - :O)] EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT "THAT" MUCH OLDER, I HAVE SEEN EACH OF YOU GROW FROM LITTLE BABIES TO THE AMAZING ADULTS YOU ARE NOW. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS YOUR TIME TO SEE WHAT IS IN STORE FOR YOUR LIVES. JUST KNOW THE STUDIO WILL ALWAYS HAVE ITS DOORS OPEN TO YOU AS A PLACE OF COMFORT FILLED WITH FAMILY WHO LOVE YOU. I WISH EACH OF YOU THE BEST OF LUCK AND WILL ALWAYS BE A FRIEND FOR YOU TO CALL TO IF IN NEED!! LOVE YOU ALL~

MRS ALLYSON- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE GUIDENCE YOU HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN ME. YOU HAVE BEEN LIKE AN OLDER SISTER/ SECOND MOM TO ME WHENEVER I NEEDED ANYTHING. YOU HAVE IMPACTED MY LIFE MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW AND I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR SUCH A PERSON BEING IN MY LIFE.

MOM AND DAD- THIS IS SHORT- BUT WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT YOU BOTH? THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!!! WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS THE GRATTITUDE.

NOW THAT I HAVE WRITTEN MY MINI NOVEL- I FEEL THIS WEEKEND IS GOING TO BE AN AMAZING SHOW- QUITE POSSIBLY THE BEST SHOW THE STUDIO HAS EVER HAD. SO BRING THE EXCITMENT, BRING THE ENERGY, BRING THE CHEERS AND TEARS AS WE CELEBRATE YET ANOTHER YEAR! TO ALL THE NEW FACES THAT HAVE JOINED US, WE LOVE HAVING YOU AS A PART OF THE STUDIO, THANKS FOR SHARING A GREAT YEAR WITH US!!! LET'S DANCE HARD ON THAT STAGE AND GIVE THE CROWD WHAT THEY ARE ALL WANTING TO SEE- ALL OF YOUR WONDERFUL TALENTS YOU ALL POSSESS. YOU ARE ALL WONDERFUL AND I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK IN THIS WEEKENDS PERFORMANCE!!!

MUCH LOVE TO EVERYONE-

I wish to tell ALL of you how proud you make me-you all represent the studio so beautifully. Each of you is a product of what we believe in-family, passion for your art, hard work, dedication and a willingness to push yourselves to surpass any goals.
The recital is an opportunity to showcase YOU and what we have worked so diligently to attain-beautiful dancing! Enjoy this opportunity to perform for your families and friends in an environment full of love and respect!
Listen as the seniors give their farewell speeches-learn from them as they pass their passion, leadership and heart on to those of you dancing into their footsteps.
Parents-watch those smiling faces on the stage yet one year older and stronger-but full of life and excitement, your children.
Remember all those on the stage this weekend share in the studio name and embrace their efforts as well-encouraging them.
Let's make it a recital to remember, For everyone involved:-)
Good luck to you all-

Just wanted to drop a quick line to say first what a great job everybody did at Nexstar!! Watching our teens and seniors on sunday was nothing short of amazing. The energy that you gave in each performance was incredible!! As tired as you must have been, never saw it show in any of the dances. Mercedes Bolden would have to receive the "trooper" award as she danced thru the pain till nearly the end. Our younger dancers shined as well and it was so much fun watching you guys leave it all on stage. Finally I want to wish you guys good luck this weekend. I'm so bummed that I won't be there for the final regional and especially hate missing seeing our seniors last regional. It has been so much fun watching you dance over the last several years and the studio won't be the same next year. I feel so lucky to be involved with such an outstanding group of both children and parents. While lugging props around can be hard work it is SOOOO worth it when I get to see you perform and see the hard work pay off. Can't wait for recital and nationals.

Again Good luck this weekend

Mark

ps thanks to EVERYONE who helped with props, you know who you are, as they say the more the merrier!

Hey Parents
I just recently purchased some dance paws for $28.00 locally from Busy Bodies in Mooresville.

If anyone is wanting to get a new pair for their dancer - I would suggest giving them a call. It's not too awfully far from my house and can call an order in.

Let me know if you would like some and we'll pick up some more for everyone.

I priced them at Discount Dance and it is cheaper than what I can purchase there which would also include shipping.

Hey there! I had so much fun watching all of the dancers in Spartanburg this weekend! There was so much outstanding talent from throughout both Carolinas on stage and it was such a pleasure to watch these kids perform. Every single dancer from every studio puts so much effort into their performances and they all deserve our appreciation! From a mom's standpoint, the best thing about the whole weekend was the friendships and support shared by all dancers from all studios to one another! What a non-competitive environment this weekend! All Taylor talked about on the way home were the new friends she had made from other studios. Now...that is the way dance is supposed to be!

I just wanted to mention to all of you that Nexstar had incredible photographs available the last time we competed there. While I can do a decent job on large groups of kids, I am lacking when it comes to great technical, individual shots. The folks at Nexstar are awesome at this! You will have so much fun looking at all of their pictures!

Thanks to all the greaat help we had on Thursday night unloading and then reloading the prop truck. It went so much faster with multiple hands and backs!

A major thank you to all the parents and Jonathan Matthews for the help backstage Sunday. Again, with your help in loading, moving props, setting up prior to numbers and then reloading the truck we gave our kids the opportunity to dance and not worry about their props. The reloading of props took much less time and wasn't a hardship on any one person. If we could have this much great help each time, it would be a great weight off many shoulders (pun intended)! If you did it once, please consider keeping up the good work and helping out again.

Again, thanks prop folks!

I personally have never enjoyed the art of dance as much as I did last night while celebrating the efforts of so many Carolina dancers for such a good cause. It was a privilege to watch dancers from all dance studios perform with such emotion. The talent on that stage last night was simply amazing. Jenna, you should be proud of accomplishing such a remarkable goal...dancers united for a "chance to dance". A big thank you to all of the dancers, teachers, parents and guest who participated and raised over $11,000 for the Allegro Foundation! The Carolinas are blessed to have so many talented, considerate and giving dancers.

Wow! I was so impressed with the performance and all the organization that went along with putting the production together. What an incredible program. Cat brought tears to my eyes and I know I am not the only one that was wiping the tears off my face. It was a true joy to be a witness to all of transpired from the event and I sincerely hope that it is something that re-occurs each year. Fantastic job, cause and participation by everyone. Fantastic numbers and I loved the performances with the Piedmont Conservatory - great group of people - just amazing!

Raising nearly $12,000 is not a simple feat. I know the Foundation will use that to better and grow the program.
Thank you all for making my night - it was a blessing.

Let me be among the first to congratulate Jenna Branner and her family on an amazing night of dance!!! What a pleasure it was to watch so many different styles of dance and all of the talent from around the greater Charlotte area. I am very proud to have been a part in this wonderful event. Congratulations on the over 11 thousand dollars for such a worthy cause!! I hope to soon have some photographs published and will let you know when they are up. Thanks again to all of the prop folks (you know who you are) it was nice having all of the help. Thanks again Jenna for giving us all a great way to spend a sunday with our families and provide much needed funds to such great kids

Congrats

This year we have had to condense the amount of competition numbers in the show as we have added Ballet numbers for each level-there will be no petite/jr/teen/sr small groups in the show. Tiny and Mini company members will be performing all of their numbers. We have also omitted 3 additional specialty numbers-ALL usual LARGE GROUPS will perform. This to is allow time to change and perform without feeling so rushed. The recital order will be posted in the lobby this week for your review.

COMPETITION GROUP PICS will be held Monday-Wednesday May 14-16. The schedule will also be available this week in the lobby-and emailed out. Competition classes will be cancelled those dates-

Get pumped up about dance camp 2007!!!!
Confirmed guests include Dee Caspary, Mandy Moore, Joey Dowling, JC and Sam Renzetti, Nick Lazzarini (all back by popular demand) and (new to us) MARK MEISMER!!!!! Mark will be at our studio for the first time and is a BRILLIANT choreographer/dancer. Those who have traveled to the 2 Days in OC event will attest-his class is AWESOME!!! There are more being confirmed........this staff is shaping into one that's TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!! What an amazing opportunity to have teachers at this caliber in your OWN STUDIO!!!

on Thursday, 4/5 at 7:30 you can see the advanced dance academy students (Central Academy of Technology and Arts) perform their self choreographed pieces and two class pieces. THis is the new Union County arts school that Hayley Davis, Ashley Armstrong, and Michelle Reps attend. The program titled "Pieces of Me" is at Central Academy and tickets cost $6.00 at the door. Directions to the school are simple- straight down Hwy.74 into Monroe, right at the MOnroe Mall, left at Old Monroe Road/Charlotte Highway, right on highway 200, school is about 1 mile on the right.
Subject: Thanks for the support and the compliments! I do this for the kids! They LOVE seeing themselves in action! It is a lot of work and time consuming, but it's worth it when I know the kids appreciate the pictures.

On a quick note, we are going to leave new albums on line for 30 days with no changes. Afterwards, we will minimize each photo album in the gallery limiting the number of photos to one per solo, one or two per duo trio and a few per group. In addition, we will be eliminating and consolidating old albums, The photo gallery is just too large (and dated). Please go in and save any photos that you may wish by right clicking and saving to your computer. We will begin the elimination of old albums in the very near future. This way, I will be able to manage the site more effectively and YOU will be able to navigate the site with ease. Right now it is a monster with over 8500 pictures and who knows how many megabytes! Thanks!!

So take the time to look for your shining star! Save it to you computer! And the next time you see the "WEIR" paparazzi smile for the camera!!! and give a huge thanks!! Just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to Linda Hoverman Oneil for her work on getting the pictures up on the photo site. I'm not sure if everyone understands the amount of time it takes to do this. I have my own photosite that I have published pictures in the past year when I wasn't doing props and I can tell you that uploading photos takes like what seems Forever! So the next time you see her either at the studio or at a competition, be sure to give a big thank you. I know that I always look forward to the pictures from each event and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So Linda

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH

HEY EVERYONE!!! I'm so excited that everyone is participating in the concert in a couple weeks! It's going to be a great show with 11 studios participating including North Carolina Dance Theatre, The Southern Strutt, and many other local studios!! Soloists include Cat Spantgos, Caroline Lewis, Courtney Connor (a professional ballerina from the Cinncinatti Ballet), and our very own Nina Shulte! Many people have asked me what they can do to help... the most IMPORTANT thing you can do is to sell as many tickets as possible. Invite all of your friends and teachers and family members! THE MORE TICKETS WE SELL THE BIGGER AUDIENCE WE PERFORM FOR AND THE MORE MONEY WE RAISE FOR THE ALLEGRO CHILDREN! A ticket order form has been emailed to you. You can have all the people you invite pay you, and then you can order all the tickets at one time with the ticket order form. The tickets can either be given directly to you or picked up at will call the night of the show. Whoever sells the most tickets (from each participating studio) gets called up onstage to recieve a gift the night of the performance! Let me know if you want any official invitations to hand out or mail and I will get them to you ASAP. THANK YOU so much for your support!!

Be sure to visit the website www.achancetodance.us!!

I will be happy to answer any other questions about the night! Email me at JennaLee423@aol.com Thanks again!

A quick FYI, I took over 1000 pictures but have no way of updating our photo gallery as of this moment. I haven't been able to make any changes to it in almost 2 months. I don't know what is going to happen, but we may lose everything I have worked so hard to create. Will keep you posted, but our only choice may be to create a brand new gallery and I am so sorry, I won't have the time to do this until fall. It takes unbelievable time to create even one gallery. I am sick to think we might lose the costume corner. Again, will keep all of you posted. I will try my best to figure it out!

Happy 18th Bithday Taylor!!!! Since you were 4 years old most of your birthday's have been spent in dance class. This year is no different except it is for the last time. Let's not be sad because look at what gifts you have there. The most treasured gifts of friendship and love. Who knew when we moved to Charlotte, little 18 year old Allyson Brake and (eventually) her studio, who knew how incredibly special they would become. I know that whatever direction you take in your adult life...you will carry the love, the friendships and the gift of dance with you.
Thank you Allyson for helping to raise my precious little girl. And thank you Taylor for the privilege of being your mother. Loves, Mom

To all of the dancers and moms that helped Kianna and Kendell this past weekend at the Showstopper competition in Lenior, we truly appreciate all your help in getting Kianna dressed and together in my absence. All of your kindness, love and support over the past three competition seasons have been amazing! Kianna's old studio competed this weekend with us and I had an opportunity to speak with her first dance teacher while you all were in Lenior... needless to say, she was disappointed about not having Kianna competing with them, but was proud of what she has done (and cheering for OUR Minis).

A special "Thank You" to Ms. Linda, Taylor H., Mercedes, Ms. Amy, Jordan T., Ms. Shannon, Hannah H. and the Minis for celebrating Kianna's 9th birthday on Saturday. It was hard for me not to be there for competition, but especially difficult because it was Kianna's birthday. Thank you for being her "other" mommies and sisters...

We love you all!!!

Someone started a fan site for Melissa that is growing everyday and I would love for you guys to go and check it out the link is: http://melissa.gleaming-sky.net/

I don't know the person that is doing it but they seem to be a fan and it is an incredible amount of work they are putting into the site.

She misses everyone but loves her new life and eager to be on a big screen. Thanks for inquiring about her and please go and send some love on her message board :o)

I echo Mark Sheppard's request for more prop helpers! Hey, if this old woman can do it, so can you! This is a chance for you to get a different perspective of dance competitions. You should see the energy and comraderie from backstage just seconds before they dance. It is a real eye opener into our children and their passion for dance. If we want to continue using cutting edge choreography (and that will include props!) then we have to have some help getting those props on and off the stage. Do it for your kids, your dance teachers, the studio and if nothing else please, please, please do it for my aching back!

Just a quick request for assistance in the area of props. This season is using several large props and was hoping that there might be a dad who would be willing to give a hand, even if only for 1 or 2 numbers to assist in moving some of the larger props on and off stage. In years past there have been 4 or 5 persons doing this and it makes it go much smoother and helps those moving props to be able to see their childs number that involves props from the audience. Hope there might be a volunteer or two to lend a hand at the upcoming events. Also an extra set of hands ( thanks Dr Billy Branner) is helpful in loading up the trailer after the event is over and makes it go much smoother.

Thanks

What an awesome weekend we had!! It was great to see the excitement and enthusiasm in all the WEIR dancers!!! I would like to thank all of the “older girls” and parents for coming to the solo room and cheering for our Junior soloist on Sunday morning. It really meant a lot to have such a large crowd from Weir Dancin in that small room. Also, thanks to Ms. Jessica for getting the Weir Dancin chant going before the Production number. I think it gave the dancers that extra boost of WEIR Power because everyone in Production ROCKED!!! It was great!! I believe the entire auditorium was WOWED!!

A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all of the teachers, costume designers and seamstresses that have worked so hard for the past several months. The chorography is the best and our costumes are beautiful. I had several compliments on our costumes over the weekend.

Let’s keep this excitement and enthusiasm going!!! The competition season is just getting started and as you all know, as the year goes by – our dancers continue to improve. Let’s make this our best year ever!!!

The costumes are absolutely gorgeous and I just wanted especially to say a HUGE THANK YOU to our instructors, etc. for all of the time and effort that went into the beautiful crystalling!! Believe me, I know what a tremendous job that was, coming from a studio where we had to do all of our own crystalling, frequently last minute! I spoke to Sam regarding the fact that we are having trouble locating the Nike Cortez shoe in ALL sizes and in most cases we are finding that the shoe has been discontinued. Sam has changed the shoe, therefore recommends the shoe listed below:
PUMA Romas, ALL White.
I hope this is not a big problem and not too many of you have found the Cortez shoe yet-I apologize for the inconvenience, I was not aware that the shoe would be this hard to find.
Our pants for these two Hip Hop numbers will be in this week when Sam arrives-so we will be able to fit everyone in their pants!!!!
Thanks

After hearing several concerns regarding exams next week-the following schedule changes have been made:
January 17th:
Class 5:15-7:00 MASTER CLASS FOR ALL AGED STUDENTS with Sam and JC
7:00-9:30 Sr Hip Hop clean up
7:00-9:30 Jr Small Hip Hop clean up
*All other competition classes & private lessons cancelled

Thursday January 18th-All sr and teen students can attend Jr leaps and turns at the usual time Sr large hip hop will be cleaning during Sr leaps and turns time. Nina will cancel ALL teen small group rehearsals afterwards.

We are hopeful with the holiday Monday and the kids getting out of school each day early will allow some time to prepare for their exams too. We have scaled things down and cut the normal Thursday schedule short to accommodate these students taking exams. Sam and JC will be aware that we are on a TIGHT time schedule and hope to keep the schedule as to the minute as possible!
