Just got home and I have to say that we are exhausted. Up since wee hours yesterday morning, waiting in the 106 heat to get inside the convention center for 2 plus hours, racing to reserve our seats for everyone, participating in the pageant, coronation ball, up all night packing 9 suitcases and flying ut this morning from being up at 6:00 a.m. Whew! The show was incredible! There was nothing like it and an experience we will never forget.

Thank you so much to our family, there is no way I can honestly tell you how much it meant to all of us with the constant support. I know she felt it all the way from NC to CA.

Her being called out photogenic was incredible and we thank all of you guys back home that voetd and passed the word around to support her in this event.

I wanted you to all know that she has made history at Teen USA and set a standard for the next class of Teen delegates. Melissa broke the record of how much money was raised for one single item and more than matched what the entire delegation raised collectively. The helmet sold for $5100 and the total amount raised was $10,000.

She worked hard on her helmet and she was a favorite among the general public vote and did a great job.

There is a reason for everything and it was not in the cards for her at this time however, we are really proud of how far she went and all that she accomplished.

Melissa is taking a few days off and staying in LA with a relative for a small vacation. While there she will be attending a celebrity children's charity and getting some much needed sleep.

We love you guys and hope to be back in the swing of things - we'll see you at dance!

Oh boy, we can only imagine the stress you all have been under!!
But like you said, what a wonderful and probably life changing experience it must have been for all of you.
Glad melissa gets to "chill" for a few days. We can't wait to welcome her back!! Annette & Fritz
