i'm so sorry to hear you are so sad. as everyone has said, it is early days and although it feels like it never will, it does get better. whitewolf you say "Perhaps growing a plant / shrub / tree special to them and tending it and watching it grow will help you" and i think that is a really good idea. it may help you feel connected to them still.
