Author: Anonymous [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 08:44:18 03/24/06 Fri Laura was 1 of 23 nominees (11 schools) competing for 2 positions to a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. Laura was nominated by her headmaster to represent her school in the Washington Youth Leadership Tour competition sponsored by Mitchell EMC. On Wednesday, Laura went through a 2-hour interview process and yesterday she was notified that she would be representing Mitchell County in Washington on June 8-15. Her itinerary will include leadership training, a riverboat cruise on the Potomac, a play at the Kennedy Arts Center, breakfast with her Senator and hopefully a visit to the White HOuse. I still talk to about 12 of the people I went on that trip with on a weekly basis. It is so much fun and if I could do it again, I would. Have a great time and TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!
