Thanksgiving

It's the time of year when we're reminded to give thanks.
Instead of waiting until next year to be reminded,
Let's make every day one of thanksgiving;
After all, each day is a unique gift.
So, give a hug for no reason;
Say I love you, just because;
Share a smile with a stranger;
Take the time to count your blessings;
Don't take anything or anyone for granted;
And end each day with no regrets.
Thank you, my friends and family,
For sharing, caring, laughing and crying with me.
I'm truly blessed to have each and every one of you in my life
And I am thankful you have allowed me
To be a part of yours.
May you and yours have a safe and memorable Thanksgiving.

I love you all, Mrs. Dianne

Several of the other queens loved Laura's Smokey Bear earrings that she was wearing at the Sunbelt Expo. We received our Christmas catelog today in the mail. You can order all sorts of neat Smokey Bear items from www.smokeybeargifts.com. They have pins, patches, notecards, stuffed Smokey Bear dolls, jewelry, framed artwork, metal signs, even pajamas. You can order online and then you'll receive a catelog with your order. This would make great Christmas gifts for our queens!..even for us Moms!:)-----Kim Warren

Laura Warren took the Best Actor Award at the GISA Region 3-A One-Act Play competition today at Darton College. Not only did she win an award, but her school (Westwood) won 1st Place!!!! Their play was "Disco Nights", set in the 70's. The music was awesome...and Laura played a ditsy jewel thief who hid the diamond in the disco ball. It was hilarious! All the kids were great! Next Thursday, Westwood competes at the State level. Keep your fingers crossed that they bring home the State title. A JOB WELL DONE!!!

What a Saturday we all had. My sister queens and I were given a great oppurtunity to travel to FLorida. That morning we were given a nice brunch. Everyone there was so kind to us. I got to meet Mrs. Florida. She was so sweet. Then we got ready for the parade and there were so many people. I think that was the longest parade I have ever been in. People would clap when we rode by. It made us feel special. Also our float was beautiful.We even won a award WOW. It was so neat. Then after that we decided to have some lunch. We got a little seperated from each other. it was so easy to get a little lost in that town. After we ate we traveled to the forestry event. We stood at a booth and greeted people. The rangers were real nice. They gave us a lot of little gifts. I love my pins that they gave us the most. It was so cute to see all the kids face expressions when smokey bear came out for picures. He had a little cabin home he lived in and it was so cute. It was so good to see all my sister queens. They are so precious to me. I enjoyed being with them. I can't wait to see all of you again.I wish we could have more time to spend together. Thanks to all of you who helped me out and for taking pictures. When I see all of you helping your little girls it makes me realize even more how much I miss my mom. I am glad I have all of you as my family there to help me. Mrs. Kim thank you for letting me ride with ya'll. We got lost a few times but we made it. Mrs. D thank you for our shirts I love it. Also for everything that you do. You work so hard to make sure we are well taking care of. You are truly the best and I love you. Oh and Mrs. Connie I love your hair. It looks so good on you. It was a great honor to be apart of a great event such as Saturday. We were apart of something that had to do with Forestry and thats what made it so much better. And they realy go all out for it. Thank you again everyone and I am glad everyone got home safely and I cant wait to see everyone again.

Wow! What an awesome weekend. I want to say thank you to all my sister queens for sharing such a wondefrul experience with me on Saturday. The special invitation to the brunch was such an honor. We got to met Miss Florida and take pictures with her. She was so pleasant. Then, the parade. We had a beautiful float to ride on. And we won the Photogenic award. That is the longest parade I've been in. It was amazing and the queens were stunning. We then had lunch with everyone. After getting our tummies full we moved on to the Florida Forestry Festival. There were so many people there. We met some of the friendliest rangers and collected several souviners. The best was definetly the winged Smokey pin that is worn on all of our banners. I passed out over 75 pictures with autographs. The people there were all so polite and made us all feel welcome. Thank you Florida, the rangers, and spectators for such a wonderful, fun-filled weekend. Thank you Mrs. Dominy for arranging events like this for us to attend. It was truely amazing and well worth every minute. Lots of Love & Hugs, Crystal Mock, Little Miss US National Forestry Queen

As you all know the National Forestry Queens, Mrs. Connie and myself traveled out of state for the National Forestry Festival. This was one of the largest Forestry events that we have ever attended. There were 20,000 plus people in attendance. All the motels around a two hour radius were completely booked for this event. The US National Forestry Queens were honored at this event.

Saturday morning at 8:30 they were special guests at a brunch at the Womens Club.

10:00 A.M. They road on a professional built float that was built for the National Queens.

We had lunch

1:00 P.M. We attended the National Forestry Festival, wow at the people that attended. The girls were recognized at the Forestry Commission booth where they signed autographed pictures, greeted guests, and had their pictures taken with guests. The Forestry Commission presented the National Queens with pins of Smokey Bear with wings. The girls also got to meet Smokey Bear and have their picture taken with him. They also got to see and visit Smokey Bear's official home.

We finished up and the girls had the opportunity to stroll the festival.

The girls were featured in a huge National Forestry newspaper on Wednesday being recognized as VIP guests of the event.

The special treat of the Festival: The festival had a special photographer taking pictures of all the events and guess what, do you want to know, sure you want to know. THE US NATIONAL FORESTRY PAGEANT AND QUEENS WON MOST PHOTOGENIC OF THE PARADE!!! We are so proud, we won a huge plaque!! What an honor. The US National Forestry Queens really did a great job promoting the National Forestry Industry.

It was really amazing traveling to another state and learning about the Forestry Industry in another state.

We can't wait for our next adventure! Lauren Etchells-Tiny Miss US National Forestry, Crystal Mock-Little Miss Us National Forestry, Taylor Stanfield-Junior Miss US National Forestry, Laura Warren-Teen Miss US National Forestry, Crystal Haralson-Miss US National Forestry, and Ejaye Craig-Miss US National Forestry Hospitality Queen attended the National Forestry Festival.

Way to go National Forestry Queens! Forestry rocked this weekend!

This past week has been so busy for me and my sister queens.
Wednesday we spent the day at the Sunbelt Expo and it was like a reunion of forestry queens. It was wonderful seeing everyone. We passed out Firewise pins to Expo visitors and had tons of pictures taken. It was also fun meeting all the rangers and talking with Ranger Diane. By the time I rested up from the Expo appearance, it was time to travel to our next appearance. Perry, FL rolled out the red carpet for us. Everyone was so nice. The ladies at the Women's Club treated us to a wonderful brunch. There we met Miss Florida, Mari Wilensky, and had our pictures made with her. She is so sweet! The parade was the biggest I had ever been to...1-1/4 hours long!!! The float was beautiful! Then to learn we had won the "Most Photogenic" was an added BONUS. The festival was huge...with everything forestry related. The Florida rangers were wonderful hosts and we received several treats...one of which was a winged Smokey pin. We received them when we had our pictures made at the forestry helicopter. I'm now displaying mine on my sash. Thanks Crystal for being my "sister" for the day. People actually thought we were sisters...we explained we were "sister queens"! You can travel with us any time you want. It was fun! Thanks Mrs. Diane for scheduling such fun events. I can't wait until the next venture. And I look forward to seeing Crystal, Taylor, Crystal M., Lauren & Ejaye again. Love & hugs to all---
