[> Happy turkey day everyone! How about a cyber menu of your favorites? I'll start with the turkey and stuffing. My special stuffing is one of DaxGram's recipes that I've "doctored" up a bit. It's a sausage-walnut dressing with dried cranberries mixed in. Really good! OK, your turn. What's the next item in our cyber menu for Thanksgiving? -- Lynn, 23:08:11 11/22/06 Wed [1]

[> [> I love my homemade cranberry sauce and homemade pumpkin pie. Since I'm not flying home for Thanksgiving, I get to eat all the cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie myself. Wishing you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving. -- Mandevilla, 10:15:17 11/23/06 Thu [1]

[> I'd be happy if the whole meal was just my grandpa's stuffing. The stuff is to die for! But since we've already got that covered, I'll skip right to dessert of pumkin pie. Have a great holiday, everyone! -- Janelle, 01:26:25 11/23/06 Thu [1]

[> Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you have a great holiday. Since everyone mentioned stuffing I'm going for my other favorite starch, grands biscuits. Hot from the oven and dripping with butter. Mmm...And I can't wait for the dutch apple pie and Blue Bunny french vanilla ice cream. -- Malia, 12:34:24 11/23/06 Thu [1]

[> [> Busta, just out of curiosity what are Hawaiian rolls? Some sort of sweet bread? And the chicken sounds yummy. I'm turkeyed out after only one day. Chicken sounds like a great alternative for next year. Yeah right, but it's nice to think. :) -- Malia, 13:16:55 11/24/06 Fri [1]

[> [> [> Malia, you haven't heard of Hawaiian rolls? You mean there's no Hawaiian rolls in Hawaii? :-) Yes, they are kind of a sweet bread--I think it's sort of like challah bread if you're familiar with that. I'm actually making a turkey & stuffing today. I already had the turkey when we were invited to have Thanksgiving dinner at Melissa's parents home--and since we're not going to be home for Christmas either, I decided to go ahead and cook it rather than freezing it for later. So, we'll be having turkey two nights in a row, and turkey sandwiches for the next few days too! Hope everyone had a nice day yesterday--we sure did. -- Lynn, 13:34:46 11/24/06 Fri [1]

[> [> [> [> Turkey is always good. We've got enough leftovers for another meal today AND turkey sandwiches. I'm not familiar with Hawaiian rolls. I'm guessing it might be another name for what we call sweet bread. It's a Portuguese thing. I'm drooling thinking of the sweet bread I used to get on New Year's from my mom's hanai (adopted) family before the grandmother passed away. I think I might have to call them to get the recipe. It's been way, way too long since I've had really good sweetbread! The only professionally baked one that even comes close is on Moloka'i. I get that once a year when Dad sails over and brings it back. Oh and as an interesting fact good sweet bread is made using potatoes. -- Malia, 16:37:52 11/24/06 Fri [1]

[> [> [> Yeah, its kinda of sweet rolls. I looked at the back of package, The Taira Family came up with "Hawaiian Sweet Rolls" which was inspired by Portuguese. I went out on Black Friday to Target to grab all DVDs and a griddle! :D -- Busta, 20:03:53 11/24/06 Fri [1]
