Subject: Idol thoughts anyone...

Who's next to leave? I'm afraid it might a "boys club" after tonight. I really like Katharine, but I think nerves (and the pressure) are getting to her, and at this stage, that's perfectly understandable. Last night's Elvis theme was not her best. Chris and Taylor seem to be thriving on the pressure, and Elliot is stepping it up too. My guess is that Katharine goes tonight, and Elliot next week, with Chris and Taylor the last two standing. I still think Chris will be the winner, but at this point, any one of the last four could pull it off.

OK, your turn...

[> I am pulling for Elliott to win it all. He could truly be an American Idol, having battled diabetes and hearing loss, plus he's not the tallest and probably not the prettiest of the remaining four. I feel that the other three will get recording contracts, anyway. Based on last night's performances, Katharine should be the one to leave tonight. -- Jules, 10:18:30 05/10/06 Wed [1]

[> Well, I just found out that Chris was the one kicked off tonight. Well, that's the end of the road for me. I'm off the AI bus as of now. Chris was the one I wanted to win, so now I just really have no interest in who wins. I don't like any of the others well enough to buy a CD or go see them in concert or anything. So, I think I'm done for the season. I'm very disappointed that Chris got booted. I like Elliott, too, but I just don't see myself buying a CD. I may end up watching the show a little bit, but I won't be as dedicated as I have been.... -- Brooke, 21:43:00 05/10/06 Wed [1]

[> [> I definitely echo everything about your post! So disappointed! The oneeee plus I get out of this is that I wouldn't have been able to watch the remaining AI shows when they air "live". So, I would have been wondering what was going on and who won and probably have the surprise spoiled for me before I got home to watch. But major BUMMER! They just lost a lot of viewers. -- Janelle, 21:53:31 05/10/06 Wed [1]

[> [> [> Ok, another plus. He's supposedly not under 19 Entertainment contract. He's going to be swept up by some other label. -- Janelle, 22:01:08 05/10/06 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> That's GREAT news, Janelle--but how is that possible? I thought all the top contenders had to sign that 19 Entertainment had first contract rights or they couldn't participate. I hope he isn't signed with them--that would be fantastic! Chris is actually probably better off career-wise than if he'd won. But, I'm still shocked. What an incredible voice. I think he'll be around for a long time. -- Lynn, 23:05:08 05/10/06 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> [> Hmm, not sure about them having first dibs. They've never signed anybody besides the top 2 in the past. However, from what I've read/heard reported (and again, nothing official), I don't think any of the idols can sign until a few months after the finale. And then they can't release albums around the Idol's release. I doubt, but I wonder, if anybody would be interested in his original band. From the clips I've heard, their music isn't that bad. Could be like Rockstar: INXS Marty Casey and the Lovehammers. -- Janelle, 01:05:18 05/11/06 Thu [1]

[> Not sure how many of you know this, I'm sure you all probably do, but when Chris did that song Hemorage, by Fuel, the band actually called him up and said they were looking for a new singer and asked him if he wanted the gig. Chris was my favorite, closely followed by Taylor. I was very sad to learn that Chris was booted. Shame on America! But I know that Chris will land a deal, it's only a matter of time. -- Carrie Jo, 09:39:50 05/11/06 Thu [1]

[> [> Yeah, I remember that Fuel was interested in him. I think he is under AI's control at least until the Tour is over. I'm pretty sure about that. I don't know if he can sign with another label before then. I would be very happy if we went with Fuel. I have 2 of their CDs and like them a lot. So that would be so cool. I will be supporting Chris in whatever he chooses to do. I have no doubt that he will have a great career. As it's been said many times, he could've recorded a CD and it do well on the charts before even making the top 12. He's great. -- Brooke, 19:27:46 05/11/06 Thu [1]

[> I didn't see the show last night, but was shocked this morning when I heard Chris got the boot!! I'm still rooting for Kat now, but I'm skeptical she'll go all the way. I really don't know, now...I'd rather see Elliott win than Taylor. He just doesn't appeal to me. I guess I'm kind of like Brooke...it doen't much matter to me, now :( -- Josh, 10:47:37 05/11/06 Thu [1]

[> Aside from the probability that Elliott and Taylor had the strongest performances Tuesday, I am guessing that Paris' votes may have gone to Elliott and Taylor and even Katharine, as well. I wonder who Chris' voters will support next week - if they are still watching and voting? -- Jules, 18:54:01 05/11/06 Thu [1]
