 We were not around, but the attack on Pearl Harbor was certainly a top event in our parent's and grandparent's lives. On December 8, 1941, President Roosevelt addressed a joint session of Congress, and asked for a Declaration of War because of the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan the previous day. You may have never heard the entire speech...but the words echo through history.

"Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan."
