Dianthe, I love your blog! I have a very slow dial-up connection at home and it takes FOREVER to load but it's always worth it.

I understand what you're going through with your weight. I was never really a "thin" person, and I have been pretty chunky in the past (first year of college and first year I was married). But running has saved me from being overweight. I started running when I was about 39 and I am still going strong at 52. I ran 7 miles yesterday and 5 today.I truly wish I had started running when I was younger. I know running isn't for everybody, but it works for me. I say this because I get what you talked about in today's blog all the time - "Oh but you're soooo thin!" But to me, I'm not. I don't need to be really "thin" at my age, because I don't have the same motivation that younger women have. I've been married for 31 years, I'm a grandma, and I just am happy with just being a "healthy" weight. (And that means wearing nothing bigger than a size 8. Size 6 would be nice, and I do get that thin at times, but an 8 is okay with me.) But I struggle with it constantly, mostly because I love to eat! I'm from Louisiana and it's almost hard to miss loving to eat all the great food we make all the time. I am wodering about the Hoodia - does it really help with the sugar cravings? I'd like to try it.

Anyway, just keep those great blogs coming! I know what you mean about kids growing up and not realizing that they have become adults. It's quite a shock to know that the kids I taught in the 3rd grade my first year of teaching are 40 years old now!! Arghhh!!! How old does that make ME feel????

Hope you have a great Fat Tuesday!
Kat
