I read your blog today and you mentioned that you were doing Weight Watchers. Although you look great and don't need to lose any weight but In the event that you get tired of counting points, you should consider the "Fat Smash Diet" by Dr. Ian Smith. He's known for being on Celebrity Fit Club but I saw him on an episode of Tyra. Anywho, it basically is a progam divided into 4 phases over 90days. The first phase is the hardest but if you like fast results it definately provides that. It's great b/c you don't have to count calories or points or anything. In his book he lists everything out that you can and can't eat during the phases. During Phase 1, which is 9days you basically live on fruits, vegetables, brown rice, yogurt, oatmeal and water. You have to eat 4-5 meals a day every 2-3hours. Your suppossed to weigh yourself on day one and then not weigh yourself again until the end of phase 1. Well I cheated and weighed myself on day 3 and to my amazement I lost 5lbs. I've never had those kind of results with any other diet, so I was pretty impressed. I can't wait to see how much I lost in the 9days. Anywho, if your interested you can check it out on his website at fatsmashdiet.com

You need to find out Kelly's love language and go along those lines. I had such a light bulb moment after reading that book and it helped stop the disappointments I felt toward him. My love language is "Acts of Service" (without knowing this). In an attempt to show him love I cooked a big meal with all his favorite foods. He barely acknowledged it, so then I was mad that he was being rude-not a good cycle. Come to find out his love language is "Quality Time". He doesn't want me in the kitchen cooking. He wants me sitting on the couch with him. ding-ding-ding Once I got this figured out, it's all been good. Same thing with buying him presents. He's gives them a glance and moves on. I'd be mad because I'd spent so much time and energy into finding the perfect present. He could care less about presents. He just wants my time.
Anyway...I think back to all the wasted time and hurt feelings before reading The Five Love Languages. I told my husband mine so there wasn't any question. He knows all he has to do is fill my car up with gas and he's earning brownie points with me! I fell in love with him, because he used to tie my shoes for me!

I just read today's blog. And I have to admit, there's no need for excuses regarding when/if you plan on exercising. Unless those excuses are purely for yourself. Because, I have to tell you, I've got plenty of excuses on why I will start my diet next Monday, or that it's too cold to exercise right now. I could go on and on. You writing is great, I look forward to it daily, and I'm thinking that we probably have just about the exact same thoughts running through our busy minds. We get anxious to see a pic and it takes you three months to post it. You are the first to point out when things are annoying..so you should understand. Good luck on the weight loss...just do what you did last year. Didn't you write in your blog Jan 06' you weighed exactly what you weigh now?

Hi Dianthe,
I am having the exact same problem with my wedding photos. I was so excited to see them but narrowing them down to 90 is impossible. I am at 183 right now. If I could pick just one of me in my gown, I'm sure that would help things but there are so many pretty ones...me in the pretty gown looking back over my shoulder, me in the pretty gown with my veil blowing in the wind, me in the pretty gown in the church....I know you understand. I hope your husband is at least assisting you. I ask mine and he says "I don' t know babe, they all look good." I wish you best of luck in narrowing your images down!!

Then he goes and dumps Heather too. I guess he needs time to be by himself. I'm talking about him like he a real person. I need a life.

Anyway, Love your blog.

I don't know why, but I'm so glad you watch 'Dirt'! Isn't it the best?! (F/X knows drama, I tell ya') I love The Hills too. It's not really entertaining, but I like the "laid back-ness" of the show, how it's directed and stuff. It's a pretty show, you know? In the movies, they call it cinematography - not really sure what it's called on television, but it helps me relax and it's Must See TV for me.

Dianthe,
My husband is EXACTLY the same way but the extra annoying part is that he is ALWAYS late. We have been married for 13 years (this coming Sunday) and I have tried unsuccessfully for years to try and make him understand how frustrating this is for me. He just does not get it. Our 7 year old son even understands that this is how his dad is now. The other day, on the way to karate class, my son asked if we were running late. I told him no and he said that he didn't want to be late because this he would be frustrated with me for making him late. I asked why he doesn't get frustrated with his dad when he makes him late, and he said "because that' just dad." I told my husband that it is pretty sad when your 7 year old already knows that you are always late.
Also, I completely agree about the gift cards. I think they are an awesome gift. It is all the fun of shopping or eating out but it feels like you get to do it for free. What could be a better gift? :)

I can totally relate to having a husband who never gets in a hurry. It drives me nuts!! I am always three or four steps ahead of my husband when we are shopping or, I look back and he's gone! I am the first to get out of the car but just end up standing in the parking lot tapping my foot. I am always the first one in the car and again I just end up waiting. We will be married 20 years in August. There is nothing I will ever be able to do to change his pace. He's pretty great in every other way and will probably out live me by ten years. Just move all of your clocks up 10 minutes.

Have a great week and good luck on the espresso brownie.

I could not agree with you more about Marjorie! She should have stayed gone as far as I'm concerned. The show developed better story lines without her. She just deserted her so-called best friends, not to mention her fiance at the alter, & now they are supposed to accept her back with open arms? Whatev! Dave was so right telling her off, but then he whimped out & invited her right back in to the circle of trust! I really think Summer/Heather & Adam will overcome their obstacles. Thanks for letting me vent! :=D

Slow down girl! I know you are excited about being married but enjoy your time with your new husband awhile first. You are so young and you have plenty of time to spit out kiddos.

Learn to enjoy each other because you won't get these days back. Once a baby comes it becomes all about the child. You don't want to lose each other in child rearing before you enjoy the whole honeymoon.

Trust me I'm 32 and am loving single life and am in no hurry to get married. It's all about being happy in the NOW.
Remember you won't get this married time together alone again. Think about it.

Dianthe,
I completely understand what you mean about baby fever. I am trying to wait until October to begin trying, because we're going to Paris, and you can only fly that far at certain stages. But, geez!!!! It's hard and you start to get obsessed... If you haven't already, go to www.babycenter.com/preconception. There are so many great articles, quizzes, worksheets, etc... There are even some funny articles on how to have a boy or girl...

For What About Brian, I am with you! I was really starting to root for Adam and Heather, especially after she quit for him. But, I don't know how much longer I can stick in there. Also, why did they get rid of Angelo and then made him a cheater... I don't see the point in making Angelo a bad guy (he was so loveable). The drama with Adam vs. Brian over Majorie was enough, now this... I'm glad they resolved the Brian vs. Adam quarrel, but they need to let her move on to someone else. If she was truthful in the restaurant and didn't want to see any of them, why was she at the party? Then again, I guess ratings aren't high when everyone is happy ;-)

Keep blogging... I love to read what you have to say!

Hi Dianthe,
I love the haircut on you, but I am of the opinion that beautiful people can have horrible hair cuts and still look fabulous!!! Your short cut is great and I can only imagine how much time it saves you. But being older, and sort of being "forced" to wear my hair short (I have a large nose, which is bad, but also small eyes, which is WORSE) I sort of like longer hair on young women like you because you can pull it off so well. But you are lucky - you look fabulous in both, so I suppose that means it's a choice that YOU get to make!
Where do you read Tracey G's writing? She used to post on the Kiddlive website but I haven't seen her postings there in quite a while. I enjoyed her writing too, and miss what she had to say. Could you let me know if she has a site that she posts on?

It took me weeks to figure this out (you know I was convinced that I had some type of bone disease or like you - was running in my sleep =)

Maybe it's how your body is positioned when you sit at your computer. You've gotta be spending oodles of time there (b/c of the Carpal Tunnel) right?

My husband and I have 2 silky terriers, a male (15)and a female (13). The female was waking us up at least 3-5 times each night. No reason, just wanted to go outside and look around. She slept with us, so we were always exhausted. Our male was also losing his eyesight and hearing and would bump into things if it was dark. Before our son was born in 2003, we discussed it with our vet and after scolding us for letting the dog sleep in our bed, he suggested crate training them. With a new baby coming, he said it would give the dogs a place of their own and help them to feel safe. We did not like the idea at first, but gave it a try. Seems to have worked as both dogs sleep through the night now. Still working on the 3-year-old son though.

I don't know if this has been suggested, but I battled foreign ankle pain, and it even extended down to make my heel hurt. I read that if you are wearing backless, mule-type shoes with any sort of heel, your calf will become exhausted with having to steer your foot after a time and something will ache. My pains were sometimes a calf ache, then the back of my ankle and heel, and even my arch, all at different times. There are gel insoles that adhere to the sole of backless shoes which may help. This might not be your case, but not wearing backless shoes 5 days a week did the trick for me.

I didn't even realize it was the new year until 12:15am. Talk about a let-down... Counting down the new year is one of the highlights of my life. Seriously.

Now, I've lost that moment forever.

My fam and I played Scattergories on New Year's Day too.

Yay!

I fancy myself a Scattergories Connoisseur, thank you very much.

Congratulations on finally putting up your tree! I normally put up 2 trees, but I also just put up my tree this week and I just put up my small 4' tree ... still no presents under the tree. Guess that means it's going to be a busy weekend!

Have a Merry Christmas!!!

P.S. Krause Studios is taking my engagement pictures! I am so STOKED! I just wish they would have been available on our wedding day ... now I am thinking that we probably should have picked a date they were available!

P.S.S. I am CRAZY jealous that you are getting a 42" Plasma HD TV. But have you checked out how much the HD Tivo will cost? They are EXPENSIVE!

OMG Dianthe ... Hi I am a long time reader, first time comment poster :)

When I read what your #1 thing of your 50 things You Don't Know About Me list was, I just had to comment! That is something I also do every day of my life for as long as I can remember ... I know I am crazy but hearing someone else admit to doing the same thing calms my fears just a bit! I love reading your blog and I love you as an addition to the show ... I sure wish you got more air time though since your talents are not being put to good use just answering the phone!

Congrats on your marraige and I hope you have a wonderful first Christmas as a newlywed!

Noticed the comment about Beyonce's name, and while I really am not a big Beyonce fan, I have read that her name, though spelled a little differently, is made up, but it is her mother's maiden name, so I guess it does have some meaning. But why you, with a made up name like Dianthe, would question the meaning of someone's name or make comments about the name being made up, is beyond me.

Along with all the other crazies, I too run through conversations before I have them. I may not even actually have the converation but I like to be prepared I guess. What's really bad is that on several occasions, I've found myself running through a conversation in my head in the ladies room at work unsure if I was talking out loud or not. I think that makes me crazy.

Dianthe,

I swear we must be some kind of kindred spirits. I read your blog every day and it cracks me up because some days it is as if I wrote it. I just had to comment after reading your Top 10 things.

I too have to have ice in my cup...even if I am drinking milk.

Spiritual songs make me cry a river.

I always do a run through of conversations before I talk to people...(I always thought that meant I was nuts lol).

I do the deja vu thing all the time. I have weird experiences with my Mom all the time to. For instance I was washing dishes on Monday night and thought "when I am done I am going to call Mom"...as soon as that thought left my mind the phone rings and it was my Mom. We do that ALL the time.

I am a Scrooge this year too and my Mom is the same way. We think it is because we are all basically wearing shorts to do our Christmas shopping.

Anyway just wanted to say I enjoy reading your blog. It cracks me up.

dianthe,

I am so totally with you on Christmas tree and shopping thing! I can't believe it's less than 1 week until Christmas! YIKES! Luckily for me our family drew names this year, so instead of having to buy for a lot of people I only have to buy for the kids and 1 other person ... which makes things somewhat easier.

Except for the fact that tomorrow is my son's birthday and I have yet to buy him 1 present!!! 1 or 2 presents is enough for a 14-year old boy ... isn't it :-| (I know, I know ... I am a bad mom, BUT i was SICK, SICK, SICK all last week)

Saturday is my fiance's birthday and I haven't bought him anything yet either ... I totally suck! we aren't exchanging gifts for Christmas this year (due to the HIGH cost of our wedding that we are virtually paying for ourselves!) .. our wedding is our present to each other.

I can't say I agree with you about sleeping by yourself! I hate sleeping by myself!

anyways, love your blog & have a Merry Christmas!

Blog what ever you want- it is your blog- but can I make a suggestion? Get some new topics to write about. I started reading your blog because I thought it was interesting but now I have come to expect a minute by minute detail of your day and all of the clumsy moments you have. No one really cares- it is only funny when brought up every now and then and when it is a moment actually worth talking about. And the weight loss thing, either do it or don't and move on. There is nothing worse than listening to someone complain and then have them do nothing about it. It just makes you appear weak. I want to keep reading your blog but it is no fun when I know exactly what it's going to be about everyday before I even read it. I know you have something more to talk about- you have more depth, right? I hope to see some new topics so I can continue to enjoy your blogs. Oh, and don't worry about defending yourself like you normally do in posts....I don't care....just get new topics, but if you choose not to that is fine, I can accept and stop reading the blog. Not a big deal...

I completely agree about the whole Sam and Jason scenario they have going on! It is definitely more interesting if Jason and Elizabeth hook up! Sam just seems to be this cry baby, dependent, unsuccessful tramp and it seems like they cant get her out of this role into something better. I mean when you think about it, every whore or hooker or low life ends up hitting the jackpot somehow and rises up to become something, a hotel owner-Carly, doctor-Bobby Spencer, get my drift? Agree or disagree D? Let me know whats up.

Eggnog, RUM (lots haha), Bailey's Irish Cream, and vanilla ice cream blended together. Top it off with some whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy! Hey Dianthe,

Love your blog! About 14 years ago I became kinda clutsy. I kept falling. Walking out of the house, walking across the parking lot to work, standing by my truck, this bothered me because I am NOT a clumsy person, it was winter and a very snowy year but I do Not fall on ice or snow. All through school I was a dancer. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for roughly two years. I had also been going through the joy of a root canal. And on one of my visits they asked if I was pregnant because I wanted laughing gas, I said no but I thought about it and ended up going in for a blood test and found out about 3 hours later I was pregnant. And that explained my clumsyness. After we found out everyone made me hold on to them so I wouldn't fall anymore! Are you hiding something from us? I know you are trying to diet and working on a baby. Anyway hope this doesn't start any rumors, its just that everytime you mention how clumsy you are I think back 14 years ago. Thanks for making me laugh!

Dianthe,
I had to crack up about your mommy kissing santa claus comment in your blog. I went through phases with the song. When I was a kid, it was a funny song. When I was a late teen, early adult, I was upset with it... Mommy is a hoochie! LOL... Then about a year or so ago in my pre-30 stage, I realized the song is actually sweet and not about what I thought. I think Santa Claus is actually daddy, which is why the song is supposed to be funny. So, Santa is not a home-wrecker after all. We can go back to christmas caroling ;-) LOL...

Just wanted to let y'all know, there is no such thing as a "courtesy honk". Okay, sometimes we feel dumb for not having noticed the light, and may wonder why the person behind us didn't give a "courtesy honk" to let us know. Honestly though when someone honks at us at a light, we assume they're impatient a-holes. I know in the Dallas area everyone likes to honk even if the light has been green for a milisecond. I live in California now, and nobody honks...ever. Maybe because they don't want to get shot, or maybe because they realize that honking is never assumed to be courteous.
The only time anyone should ever honk is out of emergency to prevent an accident or something.

My co-workers might think I'm snooty for constantly asking, "Who made this?", but I will never accidentally eat from the lady who scratches underneath her wig and keeps a damp towel at her desk; I know for a fact that she has a cat, too.

I feel the exact same way about Beyonce - she's beautiful and has a great voice, but there seems to be nothing else to her. In all seriousness, when listening to her in interviews, I often wonder if she's a little on the "slow" side.

I have had the hardest time taking Jamie Foxx seriously. Whenever he's making a sincere comment or giving an acceptance speech -I'm always smirking for some reason. I keep waiting for the punchline I guess.

I LOVE Eddie Murphy's singing voice. I don't think I ever saw the vid you're talking about, but I bet that he and Michael Jackson "played doctor" on the set of that 'Whatzupwitu' video.

bye!

Hey Dianthe. No there wasn't any updating of the Charlie Brown Christmas special. It was the same as it was in 1964. How do I know? I have an old VHS copy of the show, so I acutally watch it frequently b/c it's my favorite Chrismtas special ever so, if there would have been some changes, I definitely would have noticed. I would have been griping right along side you too.

Sorry, I can't side with you on the carols. I love Rudolph and Frosty and all those songs. They were made back in a more innocent time where commercialization wasn't really the point anyway. Also, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. Please tell me you realize the kid in the song is seeing mommy kissing daddy dressed up like Santa? The kid just doesn't realize it's daddy. That was always the implication of the song.

Anyways, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

When you have books that you know you're never going to read again, post them at www.paperbackswap.com. They match up your unwanted books with people who would like to have them, and you are awarded credits that you can use to request books later. (Even if you don't want any books for yourself, you can always use them to build a child's library!)

Dianthe~~

I agree that Jennifer was indeed phenomenal this morning. I was sitting in my car with my hand on the mute button in case things didn't go well, but I was pleasantly surprised. Seems like she even over-powered the microphones.

However...

On Idol, Jennifer didn't display the vocal control that she has apparently grown into. She's always had a big voice and lots of depth (read: gut), but from what I remember her performances were like baby giraffes being born--long legs, but struggling to find their footing. Fantasia displayed control, range, and personality. (Neither were too easy on the eyes if you ask me)

I think they both found their life paths.

Just my two cents.

Hope all is well.

Not sure if you were going to say you love it or you hate it, but if you love it Barnes and Noble has this great puzzle of the movie. Thought it might be fun to do with all the kiddos in your life over the holidays :-)

Although I agree that it is none of our business as to what caused kellie and freddies breakup, I also understand the natural curiosity of listeners, because you guys are celebrities to us and even more than that we LIKE you and CARE about you. So when something like this happens the natural thing to ask is What Happened? It's weird, because I had the sense that something was terribly wrong probably a week or two before kellie delivered, and I got this overwhelming sense of sadness. I've never met you guys, don't know you from "Adam" as they say, but it really affected me. go figure....

Yes it OK to be rude to people when they ask you about Kellie and Freddie. It is none of thier business. And you are her friend. You want to protect her. Very understandable to take up for her. I would take up for my friends too! Your just a good friend.

Hello Dianthe,

I have three beautiful children; all girls! If you asked them if there was one thing their mother preaches (and does her best to practice) is not to pass judgement on someone's personal choices or preferences; it dulls our insight into the true character of that individual and what they have to offer. Each one of us has a gift or experience to share that could inspire or influence the choices we make in life. My ex-husband (of almost five years now)and father of my children is an attorney and partner in a law firm. This exact personality trait that he has acquired through the years is what caused our friendship and mutual respect for eachother to dissolve. You know, there's a reason why God blessed us with the ability to see "in color" and not just "in black and white". And I pray that I can continue to teach my children to view life's experiences and the individuals they meet along the way...IN COLOR! God Bless You, Kelly, and the rest of the "Morning Show"...because you've certainly been an added blessing in my life.

Dianthe,
I listen to the show every morning and used to listen online but for whatever reason when i moved locations, i can't get you guys on line anymore. Anyways, I went back all the way to when you started your blog to see more about you. What i found was a picture of your wedding and there i saw Sandra and Cory ....I have been friends with them forever ! I knew them both before they knew each other. I am not sure if you talk to them on a regular basis but if you could pass on my email to her, i would owe you (not that you know me or anything)... .
You look amazing in your pic's and the dress is beautiful!
Guess it's a small world here in Dallas .....
