That sucks about your hotel situation!! My moms side of the family has a "girls weekend" in december in SA, and we always stay at a place called "The Menger". It's right off the river, and an entrance to the mall is right outside. It's also maybe a block (if that) to the Alamo. It's a gorgeous and very historic hotel. Kelley would like that. You can look up the info on their website. You have to book about a year in advance, this place is always booked. We had to stay somewhere else a few years back b/c we waited too long to book. They also have an AWESOME breakfast (I think it's about 10 bucks a person) But it's a huge buffet, with a chef to make your own omelet or belgian waffle too. Sweet!!!! Of course everything is just beautiful down there in December.
