hooray for one thing today, the fact that i get to leave this icy shithole known as gettysburg tomorrow for the warm tropical beaches of puerto rico. i just checked the weather and the forecast calls for 85 and partly cloudy every day i'm there. this beats the 20 and cloudy predicted for central pa.

so digging my car out yesterday was a true joy. as we all know, the precipitation that fell yesterday was an odd mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. at least here, the snow fell first, then we got a nice thick layer of ice, followed by one last layer of snow. essentially what this means is that any attempt to dig a car out sucks balls. hard. i found this out the hard way. the plow that clears the little alley that runs by my house decided to pile snow up right beside all our cars, thus making our task even more fun. to make matters worse, the only shovel available to us was a dinky plastic thing owned by my neighbor ron. usually, if the crap was just snow it would have been fine, but the added ice made the shovel bend and pretty much bitch out. so what should have been a 10 minute job turned into an hour and a half long task. not cool. by the time i was done, my fingers were frozen, my draws were soaked, and i was not in good spirits. however, my temprement changed when i realized i was getting paid for my digging skills, as well as for my sitting on the coach trying to find a job while playing halo skills. thank you county paid snow days!

on the job front, i have a bite with a firm in san fran named fernandez and associates (http://www.iploft.com/). the managing partner dude (fernandez, but i'm totally going to call him fernando as a tribute to the gta radio personality) called me yesterday and said he wanted to get me started on a distance internship type thing with an eye toward getting me out there, possibly, within a few months. hooray! heaves, tell your bosses i'm coming for them.

jono, i'm so pleased you got to spend a v-day without spending a dime for once. i'm also glad to hear you loved it. i hope this opens your eyes to glory that is singledom and playing the field.

i call mt's big couch if not already taken. if not i call floor by the closet. dibs.
