It was failry uneventful, sorry to disappoint. He called me into his office, told me about the job, said that his boss, my current VP, recommended me for it & all those involved in making the decision agreed. It was my director's job to then come back, tell me this, make sure I was still mobile ("if you said you wanted to stay in Ohio b/c you were getting married or something, then we'd take you out of consideration") and then tell me when it will go down.

"More information will follow" was how the meeting ended.

He did tell me how much promise I had and that those making the decisions immediately remembered me and agreed that I'd be a good fit, etc. So, it has nothing to do with needing to get me out of my current position. He said "we've taught you all you can learn here, so it's time for you to move on."

Cool note: Also, one of the other Directors under the VP I'll be working for is going to be my new "mentor," kind of replacing the role my current director is in right now in that he will look for opportunites and take me under his wing. Get this- He's from Altoona, PA and is a PSU grad, so I'm fucking golden :)

Also, my actual boss doesn't know I'll be leaving her group very soon. And I'm not at liberty to tell her yet...
