Dude, don't hate just because I don't want to drive 5+ hours on Friday night after working an 8 hour day to hang out in Gettysburg. Don't get me wrong, Harrisburg + strange + Hafer + Heaves is a good time, but is it worth 11 hours of driving knowing that next weekend I may have to drive home and then the weekend after that is our PSU weekend which involved extra driving for me as I have to depart from PSU for a few hours on Saturday and then return, adding 2 more hours of driving? I obviously say it's not worth it. Not to mention gas being $9.32/gallon and me being poor.

In wholly unrelated news, apparently there are rumors floating around the office involving this guy. Tomorrow, an big re-organizational announcement is going to be made, in the process creating some career opportunities for me. I've heard none of these opportunities, but other people have heard my name being thrown around for various positions. This is good news, obviously.

Also, as you know, I spotted the Vegas opening and then found out that there are 2 openings, both with similar responsibilites, both in Vegas (1 of which is a supervisor for our "special circuits" division, which means I could potentially be in charge of the special circuits in our area, i.e. all of the shit the casinos/hotels use. Clue.) Anyway, in an attempt to see if I could get anything out of my director regarding these rumors, I went in to bounce the Vegas job idea off of him to get a reaction. He agrees that it'd be a great experience, but then casually mentioned that I should hold off on bidding on it for 2 reasons:
(1) That bidding on it would be less beneficial than having him call the VP in Vegas, mention my name (thus sparking the VP's interest b/c we had just met in Texas), and then simply get "slotted" into the position, instead of going through the hoops all by myself.
(2) More importantly, he said there might be better opportunites coming up after this big announcement and I'd fit snugly into some of the openings. (pretty much validating the rumor shit)

So, I could be telling you some job-related news in the coming days/weeks. The suspense related to where I'll end up is breath taking! Aren't you excited?!?!

Back to work. I was all set to judge the hell out of a middle school science fair this morning (community involvement- they always pick me for these things, probably because I'm the best looking engineer), then the school went on a 2 hour delay so now it's been moved to tomorrow.
