If my promotion is here in my current office, it will simply be a year-long endeavor and then I will be off to bigger and better things.

I cannot stress enough how much potential there is for me to move all over the country in the coming 5 years if I remain with this company. The prevailing theme among the executives I've met is that a huge part of them being where they are now is because of mobility. Even if I do go to Vegas (or wherever I end up with this next step- unless it's KC, then I could be there for a while b/c it's the headquarters and many different types of jobs are available there), I'd be out there for a year or 2 max, then be moved along to another, higher-level position when it became available (pending any fuck ups on my end, of course).

I know this sounds cocky or whatever, but I'm only reiterating what I have been told both at the leadership retreat and from my current boss and boss's boss.

As an aside, I could easily take another year in Medina (after that though, all bets are off), especially if it's while I'm doing something different that entails more responsibility and a higher wage. I've met cool people, I have a home and Cleveland and Columbus aren't horrible cities to be, respectively, 35 minutes and 1.5 hours away from.
