this is from pennlive and discusses some interesting things, at least i think so. if you don't agree go fuck yourself. the post is from a usc fan who usually is pretty accurate with his info. his mention to green signing his letter is correct, but he misses the fact that his parents have not signed. with that said, here you go.
"I thought you might like to hear some news on a few things that took place yesterday. And the fallout.
Green commiting to SC was a surprise here. Everyone in the SC community had been hearing that he had aready told JoePa he was coming. And today there are rumors that he is now second guessing his choice. But they are only rumors. But unlike Hazleton, Green signed his LOI yesterday, so really if he wants to leave, Carroll doesn't have to let him go, at least for a while. And if he leaves on his own, he can't accept a scholarship from any DI school right away. He would have to pay his entire way....and he cannot be given work-study since he will be on scholarship later. Again, these are just rumors; others out here are saying his heart was always here. Who really knows with 18-year old kids?
Also, since you are Big 10 members, you might be interested in knowing that the fallout between ILL. and ND over recruits is not really about ND. Yes, they split some commitments, but the story that ND was the school accusing ILL of wrongdoing/improper recruiting is incorrect. The school that has been badmouthing ILL is Michigan. And here's the scoop. Last fall, Mich. sent word to the Big 10's Delaney accusing ILL of improper/illegal recruiting, including enticements. An investigation was launched and is ongoing, but it has been kept very quiet. Everyone assumed yesterday that the ILL AD's reference to a midwestern school meant ND; it didn't. ILL doesn't want to rock the conf. boat while the investigation continues, and didn't want to publically call Mich. out for fear of conf. backlash and unveiling the ongoing inv. This is about Mich. guys, not ND. And as I said, this has been underway since last fall, and will become public by the summer.
To add to all of this drama, yesterday on Chicago radio, a sports radio guy was interviewing Chicago HS players who signed LOIs. He asked Martez Wilson a general question about the process he went through in choosing ILL over other schools. The first words that came out of the kid's mouth were, and I quote, "This wasn't about the money," and mentioned this twice more over a minute and a half. Afterwards, the radio guy was astounded and couldn't believe the reference to $ since he never asked anything about $, just what the kid was thinking."
