Denise,
You definatley have grounds for divorce. Biblical! It is because he committed adultery. He has belittle you long enough. I am not sure if you said he was or wasn't a christian? He has messed with your mind emotionally long enough. You need to go on. Healing takes time, though! Don't jump into another relationship ,too, soon. Healing needs to be in your life from the LOrd. I had an ex husband that went out and had a girlfriend for 2 years before and during our separation. he was the ex head deacon of our church. He sort of forgot the "thou shalt nots". I was emotionally abused behind closed doors for at least 18 of my 22 years married. Well, I guess I am healing too. But, I didn't realize how terrible and unloving a man my husband was until I met other people and they treated me so respectfully and wanted to talk to me and not "down" to me! Don't let yours do what mine did to me for so many years. My self esteem is about 3 inches tall right now. (it is healing slowly) I wasn't worth standing next to or holding hands with and the critisizm he did to me.....etc. Well, you get the point. Hello! That is NOT how a loving husband treats his wife if he is a Christian. I guess I could go on. I will pray for you. I suggest strongly for you to read your Bible daily and keep in Prayer to the Lord. FOCUS on the Lord and HIS love for you. Read the Psalms of David. David knows the hurting heart.
Don't get fooled by your husbands lies and trickery. Until that man gets some help he should be off limits!!!!!!! I can't stress that enough! HE needs councelling and you should get Godly councelling from a Godly Christian LADY! I will pray for you!
God be with you!
