Sylvia, my son and baby girl are doing well. They can all expect to be released from the hospital today. I'm leaving it to Beatriz to see that her child is comfortable at home when they first get out of the hospital. My son is taking the day off.
We had them all over for drinks and dinner last night. My oldest son's wife and daughters set things up. Beatriz' youngest daughter is 14. Her birth date is the same as my 15-year-old. They were born on the same day, a year apart.
Beatriz' ex husband went to the hospital to see the baby. Apparently, they have been divorced about 3 years. My oldest step-daughter knows his trophy wife and they sat outside the hospital and smoked during the visit.
Beatriz ran some errands.
The dad got to see all his kids.
When we adjourned to our house, he did not come. My husband passed out cheap cigars before dinner was served in the picnic area at our house.
Beatriz has 3 sons who came rather quickly after Sylvia. She had a 19-year-old daughter who has just completed her first year of college.
My daughter and her youngest were upstairs when cigars were passed out. Beatriz gave the impression she would have nothing to do with a cigar. Then her oldest son took one and gave one to his wife. They are both 26.
Then the college girl produced a Salem Light and smoked it with a professional style. A brother asked what else she learned in college.
Some of my older grandchildren moved to their own area and smoked.
My daughter and Beatriz came down to see the college daughter smoking a cigarette. The grin on the younger daughter's face indicated she was proud of her sister for taking another step forward.
After the visiting family, my 13-year-old granddaughter lit a congratulatory cigar and passed it around. Most agreed with my daughter who said she would stick with cigarettes.
When all left my daughter said Beatriz little daughter smokes. She's been smoking since Christmas and has not been caught. She introduced her sister in college to smoking at spring break.
