As if we didn't have enough questions without answers. LOL

If Ash is Immortal and a god-killer, how come he's vulnerable to certain substances and why can't he heal himself? Is he only unable to heal the wounds he suffers when Artemis whips him?

[> I have wondered about that since there have been several instances where glimpses of Ash's whip scarred back are seen. I almost think that Ash has to just wait for the lash marks to heal. If you recall Talon was able to heal others, but not himself because he absorbed the pain into himself. I wonder it it is the same with Ash. It seems that even the gods are susceptible to certain things that can kill them. Look at what the Destroyer did to all of the Atlantean gods. She flat out wiped all of them out in a rage. Hmm, I was thinking.... There is a spot in SOTN after Ash has been dosed with that stuff that turns him grey (don't have the book right here) that he is trying to get everyone to get their minds off of what just happened to him. It says something like he was as close to death as his kind could get. His kind? What kind? And -could get- seems a little fuzzy as well. If I'm getting this wrong let me know b/c the book is hiding and I'm only going from memory: ) -- ~Sarah R.~, 09:07:08 11/27/05 Sun [1]

[> I think all Gods have to be able to feel pain in some kind of way. They're immortal but that doesn't mean that they're immune to pain. It just takes a lot more for him to feel it. Things that would kill a human will still hurt him and it'll take time to heal, not as long as it would take a human but I think if any God was tortured they would feel it in some kind of way. As for the substance that froze him or turned him to stone (can't remember), everyone has an achilles heel. -- Leiha, 12:18:12 11/27/05 Sun [1]

[> Between pages 185-186 in Seize, the resurrected Desi causes Ash to turn that freaky stone color-between 194-198 this happensKATRA HEALS ACHERON WITH THREE LEAVES FROM THE TREE OF LIFE.IT ONLY BLOOMS IN THE GARDEN OF THE DESTROYER(HA! IN KISS OF THE NIGHT,IT SAYS THAT ONLY BLACK ROSES GROW,IN HONOR OF STRYKER'S DEAD BROTHER-PAGE 112 TO 115) IN KALOSIS,AND IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAN BREAK THE ypnsi,THE SACRED SLEEP THAT ORASIA ONCE DISPENSED FROM THE SACRED HALLS OF KATOTEROS(ATLANTEAN WORD FOR"HEAVEN") BACK IN THE DAYS WHEN THE ATLANTEAN GODS HAD RULED THE EARTH....THIS ALONE COULD RESTORE ACHERON TO HIS FULL STRENGTH...SHE DRIPS NINE DROPS INTO HIS MOUTH....I love my notes...*VBG*- -- Boadicea, 13:23:27 11/27/05 Sun [1]

[> [> What I want to know is,what is this Orasia? It might be another god, possibly Atlantean,I think.I am thinking, too, that Ash not being able to heal himself has something to do with the reason he can't see his future or those he loves and/or is very close to. -- Boadicea, 13:26:10 11/27/05 Sun [1]

[> [> [> Muy interesante. Do you remember the passage online where Ash creates a black rose for Cherise Gautier's burial plot. It was called a mayvello and it says that it had been created by his mother. That there clenches it for me that Ash is Apollymi's lost son. Your mention of the black rose reminded me of that particular bit. BTW when are you going to relaease your Cliff's Notes for Dark-Hunter fans? I figured you and Mrs. E were collaborating on it. -- ~Sarah R.~, 18:37:42 11/27/05 Sun [1]

[> simple observation regarding Ash and seeing his own future and those of his loved ones. How hard would it be to sit back and let destiny have it's way if you had the power to change it. Take for instance when Amanda and Kyrian were attacked and he saved them. Thus, making them immortal. Can't go around making folk immortal. Hard to keep something like that hidden *G* As for his inability to heal himself, personally I think he can (at least the whip marks) but I think he allows them to linger as a reminder of what & who he is to the DH. -- MsE, 19:47:55 11/28/05 Mon [1]

[> I think we sometimes take the title "god-killer" out of context. IMHO it does not mean that he is above human foibles. I believe it simply means that he has the "power" to kill someone of "god" status. Which is not such a rare quality now that Savitar has made his appearance into the mix. Remember Savvy is older, more powerful and is a mentor of sorts to Ash. I point this out ONLY because there have been a couple of occasions when SK made statements like "The only last Atlantean" Or "Simi is the last Charonte Demon" only to have Styxx show up. Not to mention the Charonte Demons who appeared to kill Alexion in SOTN. So I have learned to take statements like that with a grain of salt. -- MsE, 19:57:14 11/28/05 Mon [1]

[> [> Darn got to rambling and forgot to make my point. In my opinion, had Atlantis (sp?) survived, Ash would not be such a rare commodity. He is amazing superiority is in that he is the only one of his particular kind (that we now know of). Therefore, wouldn't it make sense that in a world where most people had "god" or a minor deity status there would be weapons, herbs and poisons available to kill them. Think of it this way, On Kryton Superman would be Average Joe. -- MsE, 20:03:57 11/28/05 Mon [1]

[> I love how we come up with all these theories. LOLOL Okay, I disagree that Ash can heal himself of those whip wounds. Remember the squire who makes the awesome weapons-dolls, Liza, tells him in an early book that his wounds need tending. As to everything else with the "oh, we thought Simi was the last Charonte, but apparently she isn't, etc." -- well, I think the ebil Author Goddess Sherri is keeping things from her characters, too. Just because Sherri knew about Xirena, doesn't mean she told Ash. Hehehehehe. Of course, maybe Simi isn't a full blooded Charonte. Aha -- new theory alert. Maybe she's half-Charonte, half-something else. -- Mary Stella, 18:07:14 11/30/05 Wed [1]
