Subject: Finished UTN yesterday...

What a great read! I liked it better in some ways than Night Play,it seemed more intense somehow.I have to tell you guys, the most memorable secondary character for me this time was Mama Lo-she was almost scary! I think we are being set up for what to expect in Fang and Aimee's book-it should be really good.Savitar was funny (Don't worry,I've seen the claim below and I acknowledge it.Stay away from Adam Black and Zarek and we'll get along fine...*G*)and quirky, like he was bored with everyone at the Omegrion Council. He reminds me of Ash in some ways but he's also very different.Sort of detached,I think.
What did you all like best about UTN,what made it memorable for you?

[> On a Sherri Kenyon scale of 1to 10, I thought it was about 6, I liked it a lot, but it did not live up to my expectations... I'll be back tomorrow to explain... -- Lina, 15:15:56 12/30/05 Fri [1]

[> Tis glad I am Bo that you found my claim*G* I'll stay away from Z and Amadan Dubh. The eternal optimist that I am.....My most memorable moment was when Wren found out his father was still alive. My heart just went *SQUISH* Re Momma Lo: YIKES not what I was expecting! I'm worried about poor Fang at this point. He's going to end up a warm winter muff if he doesn't watch out. Savitar was great wasn't he? He has that whole mystery being thing going on that I just love*WG*
When did you finally get the book and from where?

[> [> That crappy place I call work(K*ma*rt*) believe it or not! I got it on 12-28.I was about to go on break when I was struck by the thought that'Hey,maybe UTN will be in our latest book shipment, since that's what happened when Seize came out! Sure enough,I started digging and found 4 copies in like the 5th box I was searching through-Hallellujah!!! I grabbed mine and took the other three out to the shelf at eye-level.*G* But there's three girls at work that I loaned my DHbooks and hooked on the series,so there was just enough for all of us....*VBG* -- Boadicea, 19:10:26 12/30/05 Fri [1]

[> I agree, It was when Wren saw his Dad was alive. But, really, when they first, his Dad recognized his scent., but when they hugged for the first time... That was so sentimental and beautiful. The healing began. How many of us wish to have a second chance like that! And to see Nick again ... oh..I squeezed the heart to realize that he didn't reallly want to die .... He's suffering double. ..And Savitar...great guy/being that he can be ...did that favor for him.... So many emotional harp strings were played in this story. *sigh* -- Michele N, 06:04:30 12/31/05 Sat [1]

[> I have to agree with Lina on this. I can't wait to find out why for her. For me I just think her dark hunter stories are stronger. I always think it's tough to write time travel well. I loved the fact that his dad was alive but it's hard to make that time/space continuum (sp) work for me. -- Leiha, 11:42:23 12/31/05 Sat [1]

[> I liked UTN a lot, but it isn't my favorite of Sherri's books. For me, I think I had to absorb too much with the time travel and the issue of Wren's parents. Plus, I don't feel like I had a pre-set connection and anticipation for Wren. I did with Vane because we saw him in Talon/Sunshine's book, including when he first met Bride. On the other hand, I LOVED Maggie's connection to Nick and really empathized with her missing him. Loved Savitar, too. Loved the set-up for future books at Sanctuary.
