Subject: Savitar

OK, it's obvious that Savitar is being groomed to sort of replace Ash once he gets his HEA (in 2007, one more year, yay). How do you feel about this? It just seems like he popped up all of a sudden. This bad ass that almost no one knows about. I don't know how I feel about this. How do you guys feel?

[> You really think he'll replace Ash after thousands of years on the job? Savitar must at least be that old, if not older. Ash has the Simi to temper his "aloofness" and sense of ..endless time like the ocean. Savitar has no one. Well, right now he has Nick... but....I think it would be nice to see him evolve as we've been priveledged to see Ash evolve. Thanks goodness we didn't have to read through 10,000 years!! I guess it depends on how Sherrilyn writes him. Could be a great boost to the dynamics in the series. . He's tortured. He qualifies. I'm open. [> [> The thing is, once Ash gets his HEA he won't be able to be in the same capacity he is with the DH. They're pretty much his life right now. While I don't think he'll go off into the sunset never to be seen again his role will definitely have to be redefined and that seems to be where Savitar comes in. -- Leiha, 18:27:13 12/31/05 Sat [1]

[> It does seem like he's going to replace him,but I am torn now-I feel that way about Alexion, too! He lives in Katoteros,he's got his own demon(Xirena) now,I think MsE said something about him basically having the powers of a God(Ash) so i can't see him just fading into the background. It's so hard to say what might happen! *G* I don't know if I want to see her dangle him in front of us and drag his story out ,though-hasn't SK tortured US enough?!?!? *VBG* I do agree with you about the Dark-Hunter stories being stronger,I think the question of the soul,on top of the tortures and betrayals they endured thousands of years ago, makes them so compelling. -- Boadicea, 00:17:33 01/01/06 Sun [1]

[> I don't agree that Savitar is going to take over for Ash once Ash gets his books. Unlike the Hunters who get their souls back and become mortal -- Ash is first and foremost a god. So, that whole immortality thing isn't an issue for him. Plus, just because he finds his soulmate doesn't mean that there's an end to all the strife. I think it's entirely probable that he and his-as-yet-confirmed-heroine will be in the thick of things for many books to come. Just because Alexion has Danger doesn't mean that he's any less the defender for Ash. On the other hand, I think Savitar is one heck of an interesting man..er..god...um..being? It will be terrific to see him over several books. -- Mary Stella, 18:01:00 01/01/06 Sun [1]

[> I thought that it was interesting that Savitar was presiding over the Omegrion and is a mentor of sorts to Ash. He holds a great deal of power from what we have seen so far. I brought up the question of Savitar taking Ash's place earlier, but I'm not sure that he doesn't already do a lot of "behind the scenes" work. I wonder about a connection between Archon (Ash's father) and Savitar. I have to look up the info, but there was a bit where he says he makes chaos from order and order from chaos etc....and that sounds like Archon's bio on the Katoteros website. I may just be grasping straws by trying to connect the two of them. -- ~Sarah R.~, 23:15:44 01/01/06 Sun [1]

[> There's so much yet to find out about Savitar - he's thousands of years old with major powers, but according to the Katagaria, he smells like a human. And there's a definite issue for him about being around to raise your own children. I don't know what he is or will be, but I'm intrigued. -- Beth, 23:23:16 01/13/06 Fri [1]
