I borrowed a GPS my dad have for his boat n raced with it in my pocket in the summer. Aparently they work on the baisis of "way points" that they put out and record the speed in a straight line between those waypoints, and I dont know how often they are put out... So on a very curvy road it might not be totally accurate, but it should give you an idea about the speed... I have heard that there are some TINY things u can have with you (size of a small mobile phone) and then dump all the information into your computer and get loads of cool graphs and shit there...

Good luck,
cheers, anders
