New Hampshire rules and the hospitality from Race organizer Tim Cayer and the entire Cayer Family was unprecedented. Our gear never arrived and Immediately when we got to the course phone calls where made to guys like Eric who showed up to the event with a full suspension G-Bike on the spot. Tim had also built bikes on the spot for us to ride. Leathers where found helmets fitted and we had the choice of bikes to ride. I was thrilled with every thing GSI did to make it an event to remember. Food was served Hot there was more Gatorade than any one could drink and the race was run smooth and efficient. We got more practice runs than I can count. And my beautifully engraved Trophy arrived at my house three days after the event. Wow you guys missed it. And the entire trip cost me less than $600.00 for the entire trip and that includes the beautiful hip length Wilson's leather jacket I bought out there for $25.00 if you can believe that price. The Country was amazing. And the people couldn't have been nicer.
Thanks Tim Neil Bob Mackenzie Tom Toms Mom, Eric and every one else at the event. For taking such good care of us from the West.
And then a week later Bainbridge Ohio which cost even less to go to than New Hampshire which cost me less than $500.00 for Plane Hotel Rental Car Food and Race Fee's. I can't vacation in California where I live for less than that.
Thanks F-G Racing and every one at the Bainbrige Grand Prix
For those who missed it. You should be crying right now, because you missed out on a really fun event. Guys where entering turn two at 48mph and braking it down to 23mph to make the tight steep corner. 60 Meters later they where back up to 50mph hitting top speeds in excess of 65mph before tapping the skids to ripe through the turn five chicane, like there where jet engines strapped to there luges.
The local crowd was thrilled and lined many parts of the course.
The Red Bull was overflowing. The Hot-Dogs where hot on the Grill, and the Sun was bright for a fairly dry road on race day.
Heck we even had the boy scouts out as course workers for the entire event.
I haven't even mentioned how drop dead gorgeous that part of the country is. And the people, wow. We show up to the restaurant Five minutes before closing, and they took care of us like it was still the middle of dinnertime.
I want to thank Mrs McLemore, Fermin Rodriguez, Marcus, Bob, Rusty, Wild Bill, Eric, Erika the Photo Journalist, Blue Smoke, Neil, Kevin Hahn, All the inliners, Fritz, Andy for the course walk, every one in Bainbridge, Crash Pads Red Bull Dietz & Watson, and all the rest of you who showed just so I could have a good time.
See you all next year.
