After a moment he got his bearing, mostly because Mairah had shouted at Gavin, and his eyes swung to the Prince.) Are ye bluidy insane, Roderick? (He had gotten to his feet during these words and had himself firmly placed between the couple and the members of his clan. If he had had his sword it would have been pointed at Griogair's heart.) (He actually rolled his eyes at Dageus' outburst, moving his hand over Mairah's stomach in a soothing manner now that his arms were around her. He liked the way she felt pressed against his chest.. it was a protective gesture and it soothed the anger in him. He lowered his head a little and whispered for her benefit only.) I told ye we should have ran off.. (He said with a slight smile evident in his tone, seeing the humor once again in the situation.. they were all acting like children and he had a feeling after looking at the lass sitting next to the Prince that they would have an unbiased, if not sympathetic, ear to hear them out.)
