"The only thing that I can come up with is that their are people who are wanting this base for more reasons then we are being privy too and there was was minimal opposition to it before Shay started her petitions against it. Maybe they think if they get rid of her then they will lessen the number of people fighting against the building of it." She sighed deeply, running her hand through her hair as she shifted to get comfortable in the seat, her eyes on him to make sure he was doing ok before she focused on the road again. "I don't know..I just.." She sighed softly, shaking her head. "Damn you, Kyrian, life was so much easier when I didn't care about myself." Her voice was half joking as she sighed. "I think you'll like Shay if you give her a chance, Haylie." She quoted his words. "Now, I actually have a friend of course, people want her dead." She turned to look at him, sticking out her tongue. It was the same for him too, if she didn't care about him, his pain wouldn't effect her so deeply.

(He sighed, rolling his eyes a bit and laughing humorlessly.) Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to be able to do this sort of thing without an issue.. but now I have you and Shay besides. (He tipped his head a bit as he watched the road signs slip by.) And I am not so sure this is politically motivated anymore.. it just doesn't fit that someone inside the agency would focus so much time and energy coming after me when they could have simply killed Shay by putting something in her drink at the restaurant that night. I think there is a lot more to this than meets the eye. (He tensed as his muscles complained, but ignored it to keep his mind focused.)
