Gentleman and Good Ladies,
Back to the question at hand. I suggest after you have marched around the block of your suburban homes a few times and have a good fit for your kit, you take it to a new height. Throw your kit within your vehicle and find a semi-hilly unpaved trail and start hiking that.
There is a HUGE diffrence between marching on your cul de sac streets and a muddy uphill (and downhill trail) with a pack.
Next drink alot of water, get in the habit of chugging the stuff down.
Lastly get a medical check up before you come out. If you have known medical problems do not try to be MR Macho. These howling wilderness trails are not forgiving.
Off the soap box now,,,,,Dusty Lind
