Like Silvana, I had no idea that the "Tom" I replied to was Mr. Yearby. I have never met Mr. Yearby, to my knowledge, and in fact exchanged a couple of pleasant e-mails just last week regarding one of their Hornet friends who is now in seminary I'd like to contact, as well as reenactment stuff. So, Tom, please don't take my response so personally (I was merely commenting on the way you treated another person and "talking in first person" on the Internet). I refuse to respond to the "fan mail" and the angry threads, as I've simply chosen to ignore the opinons of people I disagree with in "a hobby;" I suggest you all learn to do the same...lot less "bloodshed" that way ha ha...

What's with the mob mentality (mess with a Hornet, mess with us all)? The exchange I had with Danny, Phil, ect. is water under the bridge, as far as I'm concerned. I had a nice visit with Danny the Prairie Grove before last. I haven't talked with Danny or Phil really since then, but I sent them copies of a bunch of research stuff I had, and they were gracious to have it (and my files are always open to anyone, as you know; I've never been stingy with my research, unless it's something I plan to publish, and you all know this). Anyway, I've been out of the hobby since Wilson's Creek 2000, with the exception of a visit at said Prairie Grove, until now; I hope any of you "batos" can learn to live and let live (sorry you missed the excitment "Mr. Standing Bear" and "Mr. Negras," if those are your real names...uh, huh).

By the way, I don't hold any of the angry things said against anyone. I understand people say irrational things when they are angry, and so you should likewise cut me some slack (I think we need a lot more people in this hobby with academic experience like Silvana than people who hold bowie knives to peoples' throats when they get angry, hence my strong defense). If you want to hold a grudge, "shed my blood," whatever, that's your business, but I don't expect that your group will be welcome at too many historic sites/parks, reenactments, whatever...
