Unless Terri is running a herd of cattle ready for market and a crop in the field ready to harvest, an "army" cannot anticipate foraging in the field and must issue rations. A few men in the company may be able to steal enough for a day or so, but not the entire company, not all the companies and not both sides.

And, the guy with the navy bean is just as misguided as the guy with the twinkie. Why? With the schedule we face, there is no time to soak and boil the bean.

My whole point in bringing this up was concern for the guy that has no clue what to expect or what to bring. Suggesting some organization might save a guy from falling out on the march.
