Thank you, MrE for pointing out that sign to our attention. There are so many businesses using their marques to promote American patriotism, especially since the national tragedy, that we just seem to take most of them for granted without reading what they're really saying.

But the sign at M.L. Shaw's looks as if it were composed by somebody who was more concerned about being politically-correct and possibly not offending anybody of Arabic ancestery or maybe the bleeding heart liberals of the ACLU, than they were about stating publicly how Americans truly feel right now about the tragedy of Sept. 11th.

But as you mentioned, M.L. Shaw's does have the right to put whatever they want on their sign as they wish. I would join MrE in eating elsewhere if M.L. Shaw's chooses to make such a public statement. The war against terrorism is going to a long, tedious experience for the United States and I'm sure it's very simple to snub the leadership running this country on this issue.

I don't think by choosing not to patronize M.L. Shaw's restaurant is a gesture about any of service or food at this establishment. But the way I figure it, if you're not with us, you might as well be against us!

God Bless America,

Horizontal Harry
