Subject: M.L.Shaw

Today I was going to have breakfast at M.L.Shaws when I saw a sign in their window that upset me. It said (and I’m quoting from memory here so I may not get it exactly):

“This establishment supports the use of peaceful means to bring to justice those responsible for the Sept.11 atrocities.
No more racist killings.
Honor them with peace.”

I have two problems with this. The first is I find it hard to believe that any sane adult believes that these terrorists can be brought to justice peacefully. So if you know they can not be brought to justice peacefully than what would be the reason for opposing the use of force? So they can do this again? And again?
But the larger problem I have with this sign was the statement “no more racist killings”. They slaughter 6000 innocent people and if we retaliate we are doing so out of racial motivation? I don’t give a damn what ethnic origin, religion or political beliefs these terrorists have, they must pay for what they did in order to save all their future victims from suffering the same fate as the Sept. 11 victims. Retaliation in this case is justified and necessary and calling me and everyone else who supports retaliation 'racist' is inflammatory and ignorant.
After seeing that sign I walked away from M.L.Shaws and ate my breakfast elsewhere. M.L.Shaws has a right to their opinion and a right to state it, but I have a right to take my business elsewhere and I think I will continue to do so in the future.
