Stephanie, your someone with foresight!! I agree with you 100%. Speeding and an inadequate infastructure are a town-wide problem. If more people are willing to find this unacceptable, then maybe, just maybe "WE" could all benefit. Isn't if funny, that you met with the same reception as we did when addressing your concerns with the Police. A couple of signs, but no major changes. So in effect you still have the same problem. Personally, I wouldn't be slighting other residents in this community for taking a stand on this matter. I'm going to fight like heck to try to affect change in my neighborhood. If people would stop complaining about "Marsh Hill" trying to obtain all the services and changes, and expressed overall concern for our community, then maybe we could see real committies, who could affect real changes in our community. Yup, thats right, lets knock Marsh Hill Residents for trying to improve the quality of their neighborhood only! Well, I'm one woman who can't move a mountain. If I can't obtain enough support in even my own neighborhood to make some changes happen, how the heck could I fix the problems of this entire town. I'm not a politician, selectman, town employee, or relative to a town offical. In fact, I'm a blow-in who came to a little rural town call Dracut 15 years ago. Who's watched the town lose most of it's open land to residential development, one new school be buit, two firestations, and a memorial park (attempted) to be created. I'm slowing watching the Sewer Program expand through out the town, but see no major road improvements to safely accommodate the residents of our towns. I'd be extremely please to hear from others to establish an ad hoc committee of some sort to exchange ideas and potentially help this community. If more people like you and me, stood up for their beliefs and stopped point fingers at those who were trying to make changes for the positive, then maybe this town could take a step forward instead of going nowhere. Please e-mail me so we can exchange some thoughts. Until then, regardless of all the other neighborhoods that have the same problems as mine, I will try to be a voice, maybe a single voice, but a voice!
