Fedup, I can only suspect we are in contact with one another informally? Please e-mail me directly if you prefer some privacy. However, I believe this forum is a good exchange of information for all those internet fans! You'd be surprise who scans these postings regularly. However, you know I'm behind your concerns 100%. And it is true, that the Police dumped most of the responsibility for trying to slow this road down on us. It was their own recommendation to us to speak directly to the neighborhood (aka, the speeders?). I personally, feel it could be a matter of personal safety for me to flag cars down, or go door to door knocking. So this won't be happening from this squeaky wheel on Marsh Hill. They also indicated it should be our responsibility to call the DPW regarding the safety of pedestrian who try walking around all the overgrown brush. I have to admit, I haven't made the call, but intend to as I was almost hit the other afternoon taking a walk. The poision ivy and brush forced me to walk upwards to two feet into the road. Not a good thing up here as people routinely speed upward to 10+ miles over the posted speed limit. It was also suggested to me personally, to form an informal group of concerned citizens and residents from all over the town who have concerns regarding speeding. Such as residents on Rt. 38, Mammoth, Broadway etc. It was suggested that if we all complained just a little too loud, maybe we could get a couple of additional officers put on the force for vehicle patroling exclusively. Ah?! Sounds like their hoping we'll do a little of the dirty work for them. Please respond again.
