The Dracut Police are very often near the area while the school traffic is coming and going. However, very often they do not leave their vehicles unless there is a problem. My thought is that they should be there every day directing the traffic instead of the crossing guard. The crossing guard is wonderful with the children but they do not help out with the traffic. Vehicles waiting to make a left hand turn into the complex driveway can wait a very long time before making a turn. Unfortunately, what may happen is that an impatient driver may try to go and then an accident may occur. I can only imagine the mess that would create in an already intense traffic situation. How can we get the police to be there everyday doing the directing as oppose to just watching?
