Mark--

You make a good point. It's important to invest in our community by upgrading facilities and allocating resources toward that. Can't fault you there (though come on, didn't the image of the jumbotron make you laugh?)

Throughout your post, however, you keep asking why you (or the collective "we") should live in Dracut. I think I have a good answer. I've lived in Los Angeles, and until you've been lulled to sleep by gunshots, had your new school facilities defaced by the hate language of the Bloods and the Cryps (sp?), and had a pimp try to recruit you for work at a shopping mall (I'm not lying), you can't appreciate Dracut. I like Small Town America, here. I like not being afraid to walk outside and people I don't know talking to me (without looking at my purse). Hell, I even leave my door unlocked now and then!! Imagine that nowadays! Anyway, I think it's nice to have a bit of Mayberry in a world that grows less and less safe all the time.

I'll digress before launching into my rendition of, "Where Have all the Flowers Gone? . . ."
