The delaying or not delaying of a school sometimes is out of the hands of the town. The Mass Department of Education may have tied the town's hands in this. They have certain requirements that the town must follow. A good example of this is the extra half day that the Middle School students had to attend at the end of last year due to the death of Marilyn Reidy. Your best course of action to make yourselves heard is the superintendent. She will be able to give you the reasoning and the plans for these students. While I agree that herding them all into the high school will probably accomplish little, it may be enough to satisfy the dept. of Ed and that may be the reason.
