Subject: ATVs

It's Spring in Dracut. And rather than looking forward to the beauty of the season, instead we're dreading the warm weather and anticipating the ever-increasing noise and destruction caused by ATVs and dirt bikes.

Our quiet neighborhood is being inundated with these violent machines--one neighbor bought three ATVs for his children and another neighbor has both an ATV and a dirt bike, which are driven incessantly around their house, on private property, and on the street. As 18-year residents, we'd like to know what is being done to curb the use of them. What is town's position on the use of ATVs in residential areas? Can they be restricted to only coming within one mile of a residential area?

We hope that there is something is in process, otherwise this may be our last year in Dracut.
