Anyway I've read Ophiuchus's 'Not in His Image by John Lash suggestion and is instructive on the Gaia/Sophia belief system, some good presentations are made and much analysis of the Cult of Aton patriarchy and zaddikim history twists. I felt somewhat naive critique' of the broad pagan inclusion and matriarchal centered christian religions such as Catholicism. Overall an instructive read despite myoptic christer bashing imo. Also try listening to andy basiagio, may be a letter off on spelling the lastname but informative on likelyhood of mars colony etc, exists on redice podcasts if interested. Also obviously we're amidst change however the psicean age may last hundreds of years yet, speaking of which perhaps it's transdimensional meaning overlapping dimensions as I've previously described vessica pisces symbology as opposed to say sun wheel which could be viewed as a point within a circle suggesting varied directions or paths/doorways as in many worlds theory. Just a brief note recognising you as I do, however many oppose your postings which they can't glean info from me because I really have no idea about you other than your handle, see how well anon works!

MSNBCís Hardball host Chris Matthews has continued to demonstrate ?
graphically and offensively ? the twisted double standard that allows
liberal commentators to defame and insult black conservatives without
fear of retribution or even criticism from other mainstream media
outlets.
He consistently and intentionally refers to grassroots Americans who
have become politically involved in the Tea Party movement as
ìTeabaggersî ? a derogatory term describing a homosexual sex practice
too offensive to describe. Anyone other than a prominent liberal on an
aggressively liberal cable station would be fired for using such an
offensive term, but Matthews and his ilk are given a free pass to defame
honest, God-fearing and concerned conservative Americans whose only
ìcrimeî is a concern for the direction their country is heading.
However, on January 5th, Matthews took his persistent diatribe against
grassroots conservative Americans in a whole new and dangerous
direction: adding race-baiting to his kit-bag of insults, slander and

Interviewing Mark McKinnon of The Daily Beast, Matthews asked, ìSo who
will lead the tea-baggers?î Before his guest could answer, Matthews went
on: ìTheyíre monochromatic, right? Ö every picture I see shows them to
be Ö theyíre all white. All of them, every single one of them is white.î
McKinnon responded, ìI think thatís a fair characterization,
predominantly,î to which Matthew replied, ìYeah, well whatís that
about?î
I happen to be a black American who, along with my wife Selena, have
participated in and spoken at each of the Tea Party Express events. I am
also a publisher and the author of Obama: Why Black America Should Have
Doubts. I am outraged over this obvious racial slur. I can only assume
that Mr. Matthews, in addition to gleefully demeaning grassroots
Americans with his constant references to ìteabaggers,î is intent on
inserting racism into the Tea Party movement.
Matthews has ignored my wife and me though our participation has been
highly visible ? even CNN featured me in their 2009 Year in Review
coverage of the Tea Party movement.
Worse, Matthews has blatantly ignored the participation of all
grassroots black Americans in the Tea Party movement, such as Lloyd
Marcus, the official ìunhyphenated black Americanî and Tea Party Express
patriotic singer/songwriter, as well as attendees and local Tea Party
speakers.
Matthews has no excuse for not knowing about this assault, or the
participation of many other black Americans in grassroots political
events. By pushing conservative black Americans to the back of the media
bus, Matthews has once again exposed his ulterior motives, just as he
did when he repetitively referred to politically active Americans with a
repugnant homosexual slur ? to promote division, hatred and racism.
Chris Matthews is a disgrace to American journalism and to all who
cherish free expression and participation in Americaís democracy.
However, unlike liberals who shout ìoff with their headsî at any
conservative who commits what they consider to be a politically
incorrect offense, I am not asking for what would amount to a lukewarm
apology from MSNBC. Frankly, I believe that MSNBC and Chris Matthews
deserve each other. My only regret is that whenever someone like Mr.
Matthews ? with a microphone and an audience ? stirs racial hatred or
participates in race-baiting, black Americans are the ones who pay the
price.

To hell with pulseaudio use apt-remove command and delete it. further you can always go buy a windows program and load that failing the myriad linux. It's just something that you need to learn by doing like riding a bicycle, sure there will be wrecks learning but just do it, you can and I know you can. Just download another desktop and burn to disc for back-up OS and go from there, get your back-up drive too. Why repeat myself, reinterating just do it.

Just back-up your documents on an external disk, scrub your hard drive and reload your OS, you could repartition your drive and load multi op systems. You should have a terra byte handy? Anyway, once you get it working then burn a copy of your OS system so you can reload using a cd tool. It's something that happened enough to me until I learned howto get over it. The Supreme Court’s Attacks on Freedom

The Dirty Dozen: How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom by Robert A. Levy and William Mellor (Sentinel, 2008); 299 pages.
Americans like lists. Most often, we get “Top Ten” lists, but this book is a top dozen list, a list of the most damaging Supreme Court decisions during and since the New Deal era. The authors, two lawyers with strong libertarian philosophies, set out to show which decisions have had the most detrimental impact by expanding the realm of government coercion and depriving people of their liberty. This, they correctly observe, is a target-rich environment. The Supreme Court has been blundering along a statist/collectivist path for many decades and each passing term brings new decisions that make constitutionalists hang their heads in despair. “Seldom,” Levy and Mellor write, “has the ratchet of the Court’s decisions turned toward greater individual liberty. To the contrary, the Court has further and further restricted the freedoms that Americans should enjoy as a birthright.”
Many readers of Freedom Daily will have their own ideas about the worst cases and are eager to see if any of them make the authors’ list. So let’s get right to the Dirty Dozen.
Helvering v. Davis (1937)
This was the case that gave the Court’s stamp of approval on Social Security and it turned on the meaning of the General Welfare Clause in Article I, Section 8, which specifies that Congress has certain powers including powers “to provide for the common defense and general welfare.” Did those words give Congress free rein to enact any law that might be said to advance “the general welfare”? Or were the words meant as a further limitation on the specific powers previously granted, in effect saying, “Congress may do these things, but only so long as they are for the general well-being of the people and not just to make a few better off at the expense of the rest”?
Alexander Hamilton had favored the former, expansive view, but James Madison argued to the contrary, observing that it would make no sense to list particular powers and then add a clause that swallows all of them up in a vague generality.
Madison’s view was the accepted one until Helvering. In 1936, Congress passed the Social Security Act and Roosevelt signed it into law. It was immediately challenged on constitutional grounds that Article I, Section 8, does not give Congress any power to set up a mandatory retirement system. The Court’s precedents would have dictated an easy win for Davis (who was suing the IRS Commissioner to avoid being forced to collect and remit the Social Security “contributions”), but instead it tossed out the precedents. Chief Justice Harlan Fiske Stone, writing for a 7-2 majority, held that the General Welfare Clause was a separate grant of power to Congress and if it thought this new “Social Security” scheme was a good idea, the Court would not stand in the way.
The implications of this case have been staggering. It opened the floodgates to unrestrained federal spending, since almost anything can be claimed to advance “the general welfare.” So long as Congress says that every new law is meant to have a good purpose, that was sufficient for the Court.
Wickard v. Filburn (1942)
This despicable decision involved the efforts of a federal official, Secretary of Agriculture Claude Wickard, to fine an Ohio farmer, Roscoe Filburn, for having grown too much wheat.
In the America of 1787, what a farmer grew on his land was no business of the federal government’s, but in the America of 1942 (and ever since), what someone grows on his land is very much the business of the federal government. If you disobey its orders, you’ll be punished.
In 1941, Filburn had grown more wheat than Department of Agriculture regulations said he could. Those regulations had been promulgated in order to depress the supply of wheat and thereby raise prices. All of Filburn’s wheat was consumed on his own farm, but that didn’t matter to the federal dictators. He had to be fined for his arrogant disregard of the law!
Ah, but where in the Constitution was there anything saying that the government could tell farmers how much they could grow? The government’s argument was that the program to raise the price of wheat was part of a regulation of interstate commerce language that is in the Constitution. If Filburn had not grown those illegal bushels of wheat, he might have purchased that same amount in the national market. By not buying in the national market, Filburn was helping to undermine the federal government’s regulatory scheme. Therefore, in telling farmers how much they could grow, the government was merely regulating interstate commerce.
The Court easily accepted that preposterous argument. By 1942, it was loaded with collectivists who could see no reason that individual liberty should get in the way of bold programs to bring the chaos of the free market under the benevolent guidance of federal bureaucrats.
Following Wickard, there was nothing to stop federal economic meddling, since nearly everything can be said to somehow “affect” interstate commerce. Distressingly, Wickard was recently reaffirmed in the Court’s decision in Gonzalez v. Raich, where the issue was whether Congress could override state laws allowing certain people to use marijuana for medical purposes. Levy and Mellor devastate the feeble logic of that decision.
Home Building and Loan v. Blaisdell (1934)
Should people be free to contract as they see fit? A contract, of course, is a mutually enforceable agreement and if politicians can intervene to stop contracts from being enforced because they feel sorry for one of the parties, then contractual freedom not to mention the concept of equality under the law has been gravely undermined.
The Constitution provides that state governments may not “impair the obligation of contracts,” but in this case the Supreme Court decided that state governments could do precisely that if they felt that they needed to. Minnesota’s legislature had passed a law preventing mortgage holders from foreclosing when borrowers failed to make their payments, thus rewriting the contracts for the benefit of the borrowers. When the Blaisdells did not pay, Home Building and Loan sued, contending that the law protecting borrowers was unconstitutional.
Clearly, it was, but the justices tortured both logic and the language of the Constitution to arrive at a contrary (but politically expedient) result. Emergencies do not create new governmental powers, wrote Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes, but he then proceeded to conclude that, in the authors’ words, “financial hardships associated with the Great Depression allowed Minnesota to do exactly what the Constitution forbids.”
Ever since Blaisdell, freedom of contract has been dying the death of a thousand cuts.
Whitman v. American Trucking Association (2001)
Bad as it is for elected politicians to pass unjust, authoritarian laws, at least they might be voted out of office if enough people get upset. When the politicians turn the lawmaking over to unelected bureaucrats, things are worse. Bureaucrats can’t be voted out. The distressing fact is that lawmaking by bureaucrats dwarfs the lawmaking by elected “representatives.”
The Constitution does not say that Congress is allowed to turn its lawmaking authority over to bureaucrats, but it has been doing so for many years. Naturally, the Supreme Court has been willing to acquiesce in that, believing that Congress needs to rely on administrative experts to make lots of regulations to control our lives. Whitman was an opportunity for the Court to apply the brakes on bureaucratic lawmaking, but it went the other way, tearing up what remained of the nondelegation principle. The justices ruled that delegation of lawmaking authority is permissible even if the standards set forth for the agency to follow are extremely vague.
After Whitman, Mellor and Levy say, “the best we can wish for is that administrative agencies will use their unconstitutional powers ‘reasonably.’ That unlikely outcome would be the triumph of hope over experience.”
McConnell v. Federal Election Commission (2003)
McConnell was the decision that proclaimed constitutional a shocking assault on the First Amendment, namely the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA, aka the McCain-Feingold Act). The First Amendment clearly states that Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech or of the press. The BCRA places severe limits on those freedoms in political campaigns, yet when the law was challenged the Supreme Court held that it is so important to prevent “the appearance of corruption” in elections that the First Amendment would just have to be set aside. Of the decision, the authors say, “In effect, the Court rewrote the first Amendment so that it mandated fair speech, as perceived by nine justices, instead of ensuring free speech, as intended by the framers.”
This astounding decision will do nothing to stop political corruption, and may actually increase it because, as Levy and Mellor point out, one of the law’s consequences is to make it harder to successfully challenge incumbents. It is all too typical of the Court to allow wishful thinking to trump the unambiguous words of the Constitution.
United States v. Miller (1939)
This is the case that led to the idea that the Second Amendment does not protect the individual citizen’s right to keep and bear arms, but says only that governments are entitled to arm their militias. That bizarre decision led to many draconian anti-gun laws around the country and lower court decisions upholding them.
Fortunately, the recent decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, in which the Court rejected the “collective right” theory of the Second Amendment, takes Miller off the list of the worst cases. Even though the Court did not expressly overrule Miller, Heller rebukes the strange interpretation of the Second Amendment in that case as pertaining only to “militias.”
Korematsu v. United States (1944)
Political “liberals” are forever prattling away that “we” are guilty of sins against various groups, but you don’t often hear them talking about one of the ugliest occurrences in American history the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II. It was ordered by the sainted Franklin D. Roosevelt to appease public opinion that had been inflamed by race-baiters on the West Coast. The rights of 120,000 people, most of whom were American citizens, were flagrantly violated and yet when the validity of Roosevelt’s executive order was challenged, the Supreme Court meekly upheld it on the grounds that during emergencies, political authorities must have a free hand to protect the nation. Therefore, due process of law can be ignored.
Decades later (in 1983), a congressional commission reported that the internment was not justified by any military necessity, but rather was the product of “race prejudice, war hysteria and a failure of political leadership.” Nevertheless, Korematsu remains good law, a Supreme Court precedent for other “emergency” measures that deprive people of their rights without due process of law.
That’s why Korematsu is still worrisome. As Mellor and Levy write, “Today, suspensions of constitutional protections are defended on the same grounds that the Japanese internment was justified: national security.” The door is open to heavy-handed abuse of individuals during “emergencies” (which may well become the rule rather than the exception) if officials merely suspect them to be somehow associated with terrorism.
Bennis v. Michigan (1996)
This case gave Supreme Court approval to the odious practice of civil-asset forfeiture. Under civil-asset forfeiture laws, government officials are entitled to seize a person’s assets because he was either somehow involved in criminal behavior, or his property was. The theory that “guilty property” can be taken by government goes back centuries, but in recent years it has been expanded to the point where officials look to asset seizures as a means of padding their budgets. It encourages predatory behavior by law-enforcement agents. In Bennis, the Supreme Court could have blown the whistle but did not.
The facts: John and Tina Bennis were married and jointly owned a car. In October 1998 Detroit police officers saw a woman they believed to be a prostitute “flagging cars.” One vehicle stopped, the driver allowing her to get in. The police followed the car at a distance. When it stopped, they approached and found the driver and the woman engaged in sexual activity. John Bennis, the driver, was arrested for indecency and the police confiscated the car under Michigan law.
But what about Tina Bennis? The car was half hers and she had committed no violation of law. Could the government seize property owned by an innocent person? The Court said yes, relying solely on precedent. Chief Justice William Rehnquist wrote, “The cases authorizing actions of the kind at issue are too firmly fixed in the punitive and remedial jurisprudence of the country now to be displaced.” Four justices strongly dissented, but the damage was done.
Bennis has very disturbing implications, among them that people who have done nothing illegal not having committed so much as a victimless crime can lose their property because of the illegal conduct of someone else. Also, the case gives the green light to rogue government officials to target nondangerous activities such as prostitution, where the chance to hit the jackpot by seizing high-value property is good.
United States v. Carolene Products (1938)
For 70 years the Supreme Court has adhered to a doctrine that places some rights on a pedestal and others on the floor where government officials may trample upon them as much as they please. In general, “economic” rights are in the latter class. If politicians want to create monopolies, ban the sale of products, impose absurd licensing requirements, or do other things that obstruct commerce, the Court has said, “That’s no concern of ours let them do it.”
Carolene Products was a New Deal case that put on clear display the Supreme Court’s indifference to economic liberty. Congress had passed a statute called the Filled Milk Act, which prohibited interstate shipment of “filled milk” an evaporated-milk product made from skim milk and coconut oil. It had the same taste, odor, color, and cooking properties as regular evaporated milk but cost less. Responding to complaints from the dairy industry, Congress wiped out interstate competition, declaring that filled milk was injurious to the public health. That was just political window-dressing for the blatant act of destroying competition from a product that consumers had safely used for many years. It was nothing but special-interest legislation.
Counsel for Carolene Products showed that there was absolutely no evidence of any harm to consumers from filled milk. Too bad, but the Supreme Court was not interested in such facts. Chief Justice Harland Stone wrote that while some cases call for “strict scrutiny” of legislation, others call upon the Court only to ascertain whether there might be a “rational basis” for it. The mere freedom to sell a product was not important enough to demand “strict scrutiny.” This meant that Congress and state legislatures would not be impeded in passing even the most egregiously anti-competitive laws. The result of the Court’s “rational basis” jurisprudence that is, its declared indifference to economic meddling has been, Mellor and Levy write, “an avalanche of special interest legislation.”
Kelo v. City of New London (2005)
The Fifth Amendment states that private property may be taken by government only for public use, and then only if just compensation is paid to the owner. That language, allowing the camel of statist greed to get its nose under the private-property tent, was never very clear, and over the years, what was intended as a bulwark against the abuse of eminent domain has eroded to almost nothing. We have the Supreme Court to thank for that.
In Kelo, the Court might have repaired the defenses but instead weakened them. The City of New London, Connecticut, wanted to seize a lot of riverfront property so that a private development with offices, a hotel, shops, and upscale condos could go in. It was a classic case of government officials drooling for increased tax revenue and taking land away from homeowners who paid relatively little in taxes so that businesses that would pay much more in taxes could have it instead. Suzette Kelo complained that the taking was unconstitutional because it was not for a public use. Unfortunately, a majority of the justices disagreed, holding that the taking was permissible because it was supposed to have a public purpose.
Justice John Paul Stevens declared that “economic development” was a key government function and thus if some people had to give up their property for the supposed “greater good” of the community, the Fifth Amendment did not stand in the way. New London therefore could take Kelo’s home for its “revitalization” project (which, incidentally, is languishing). Even Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, usually one to defer to the supposed expertise of government planners, couldn’t go along, writing, “Nothing is to prevent the state from replacing any Motel 6 with a Ritz-Carlton, any home with a shopping center, or any farm with a factory.”
Kelo means that so long as they follow certain formalities, politicians can take any property they want. The Founders certainly did not intend government to have such power, but the Court is more concerned with the illusory benefits of government coercion than with the rights of individual property owners.
Penn Central v. New York (1978)
Penn Central is another property-rights case, but involving a “regulatory taking” rather than eminent domain. Governments can and often do regulate a property in such a way as to greatly lower its value sometimes to virtually nothing. When it does so, must it compensate the owner? How far can government go before it has gone “too far” and must pay?
Following a merger in 1968 with the New York Central Railroad, Penn Central became the owner of Grand Central Terminal in New York City. The company wanted to construct an office building over the terminal. Another 50-story structure in New York: What could be the problem with that? New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Law, that’s what. A commission had been given the task of identifying buildings that were “landmarks,” and once a building was so designated, the owners could not alter it in any way without the approval of the commission. Penn Central’s plans for the new structure were submitted to the commission, but it rejected them, costing the company around $150 million in annual revenues. It sued.
When the case reached the Supreme Court, the justices had to decide whether New York had to compensate the company if it enforced its “landmark” regulation. Justice William Brennan’s majority opinion ruled in favor of the city. Mellor and Levy comment, Brennan’s characterization makes compensation depend on the elusive notion of what is just and fair. But the language of the Fifth Amendment presupposes that compensation is required unless the government can demonstrate otherwise.
Worse still, Brennan’s opinion pivoted on the idea that in cases of this sort, the focus should be on the value that still remains after the regulation rather than on the value that has been lost.
As a result of Penn Central, governments around the nation have been given almost unfettered discretion to regulate away the value of private property. One favored technique is to impose moratoria on permission to develop land where one “temporary” restriction follows another and the owner never gets to build.
Grutter v. Bollinger (2003)
Should governmental institutions be allowed to establish classes of citizens and treat some differently than others? For instance, under the “Jim Crow” laws, governments in the South used to require that whites and blacks be treated differently in many respects. Those laws were declared invalid under the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause years ago, but what if governments choose to adopt “affirmative action” programs that set different admission standards for applicants to state universities depending on their race? Is it acceptable to replace the “bad” discrimination of Jim Crow with the “good” discrimination of programs that aim to increase “diversity”?
That was the issue in two cases involving the University of Michigan. Gratz v. Bollinger involved the admissions standards for undergraduates and Grutter v. Bollinger involved the admission standards used by the university’s law school. Both gave preferences based on the race of the applicant (for blacks, Hispanics, and American Indians), but the undergraduate system was very mechanical, automatically assigning a certain number of points simply on the basis of ethnicity. The law school’s system, however, was designed to look more “holistic” that is, its preferences were adroitly masked by professed interest in vague qualities such as “leadership.”
The Supreme Court ruled that the undergraduate admission policy was unconstitutional, since it focused too much on race, while the law school’s policy was permissible. The Court uncritically accepted the law school’s assertion that it needed a “diverse” student body in order to reap the alleged educational benefits of having differing views expressed in class. Whereas the Court had traditionally required “strict scrutiny” of any law that classified people by race, in Grutter it didn’t bother with any scrutiny at all, merely taking the university’s word that racial preferences to achieve “diversity” were good.
This decision has the potential for weakening constitutional rights in an array of settings. For example, freedom of speech may be undermined. What if, the authors write, “a university determines that some purported educational benefit might be derived from its suppression?” The Court has already undermined the First Amendment with the notion that the “compelling governmental interest” in “fair” elections trumps free speech and now we have the “compelling governmental interest” in diversity on the loose, threatening other rights.
There you have them the dirty dozen: Twelve cases (now only eleven, but there are many contenders for inclusion; my own favorite is Jones & Laughlin Steel v. NLRB, the 1937 case that okayed the horribly authoritarian National Labor Relations Act) that have done tremendous damage to our freedom by expanding the power of government.
At the next confirmation hearing for a Supreme Court justice, I hope to see senators thumbing through The Dirty Dozen hunting for tough questions to ask the nominee. There is an abundance of material in it to help sort the libertarian, pro-individual-rights wheat from the statist, pro-government chaff. And if you are one who wants to understand how so much of our liberty has been whittled away, this book goes a long way toward answering that question.

That doesn't reconcile. You should know howto clone drives using linux and back-up your OS to an external drive image. Since your machine is working the problem isolates to either drivers or codecs or player, perhaps VLC player offers an easy solution to your problem? Further you could use a usb stick OS or say portable apps for instance; so there's really no good reason you're being impeded. Let's get up to speed here please.)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Since I was talking to someone on the phone I suspect faloffal is a handle of theirs, maybe I'm wrong about that? I always thought faloffal was a canadian poster however the other person I was talking to is american. I have little contact with other posters beyond the etheric text boards and that is my objection is that the internet is unreal substantively in relation to the real? world, however unreal it is. Anyway that's why I didn't respond to faloffal and it may be coincidental that faloffal posted while I was talking to another poster and if so I apologize.

Now consider the stars are mapped and if something is there it would be obvious so they would black it out, also I suspect the blacked out area is moving with the object. Now you have recent vatican interest in astronomy and as you know they controlled history and would know cc hunab ka and nb alta 1309. Perhaps look further before dismissing or by 5au everybody knows and everybody knows there's seed vaults and deep underground bases

What I've thought about doing is changing my handle so that I could post anon aside from being identified as dan, however it appears there are now dan plural given others using that handle. What is bad is being targeted for what you have to say with browsers like flock for instance that can monitor sites for handle activity. So maybe another handle is in order. I think I've given up chasing illusive wealth in this fleet-ing life and re-consider riches as health, friends, satisfaction and enjoyment of life and minimise the value of financial wealth relatively. Give me true wealth instead of pursuit of illusory wealth and I think you'd concur and agree with me on that. It's all too easy to obsess on negative pursuits when instead we should sieze upon realising what positive things we can and enjoy them. The bible will tell you how to know if your bible teacher is "wise," and if he understands what he teaches.

catch that: the teacher (preacher) will teach the people knowledge (of God), give good heed (wisdom from above), set out (reveal), and set in order may proverbs (parables).
The apostle gives the clue on how to read scripture. The wise man will compare scripture with scripture, or to put it another way, compare spiritual with spiritual.

The estimable Saint-Simon noted, with extraordinary shrewdness, that such a "System," a state bank with the ability to issue fiat money and float bonds, could only work
in a republic or in a monarchy like England, whose finances are controlled by those alone who furnish them, and who only furnish as much as they please. But in a State which is weak, changeable, and absolute, like France, stability must necessarily be wanting to it; since the King, or in his name a mistress, a minister or favorites ... may overthrow the Bank — the temptation to which would be too great, and at the same time too easy.
The comparison (emphasis added) is arresting - the republic of merchants, self-controlling from self-interest alone the issuance of debt and paper money by the sovereign, as against absolutist France, "absolute" and therefore "weak." And later the Duc goes on to remark that absolutist France must lose wars to parliamentary England, because the absolute Louis must borrow for his wars at interest rates far exceeding those of England, whose war bonds are sufficiently largely purchased voluntarily by its own population as to be trusted by foreign investors as well. The English can conduct many more campaigns over many more years than the French.
I draw this from the marvelous book by James Macdonald, A Free Nation Deep in Debt: The Financial Roots of Democracy (FSG 2003), which is even better on these topics of financial-political history than Niall Ferguson's early, then-still academic work on the bond markets and war.
But the lesson is not precisely what one might first have thought - that excessive government debt is the road to ruin. It is. The lesson of Macdonald's book is a determinedly libertarian one. Provided that the bond financing is provided voluntarily by those who will have to service and pay it through their taxes, and who will have to bear the risks of the bonds losing value if the money supply is inflated to void the debt, and who will bear the risk of default by the state (enough among the citizenry so that foreign investors do not dilute those conditions and re-align those interests), then debt is a mechanism that chains government.
The title, A Free Nation Deep in Debt, comes from an anonymous eighteenth century pamphlet, expressing a common view of the philosophes, that sovereign debt owed to a state's own citizen-creditors, was a bulwark against absolutism, despotism and tyranny. Much of the rest of Macdonald's book goes on to show historically how the relationship between citizenry and creditor/bondholder was gradually broken both from 'within' parliamentary republican society as class interests within society increasingly diverged along with the political power attached to them, and from 'without' through increasing amounts of foreign investment that gradually re-aligned incentives of state, citizens, and foreign creditors alike from what they were when foreign creditors rode along with the citizen-creditors.
So a question is, given two admittedly highly stylized conditions — 'citizen-creditors' or, alternatively, the separation of the economic bondholders from the political citizens, which is to say, the separation of economic ownership from political control — which better characterizes where we are headed today. The existence of high levels of state debt as such, for the very particular purposes of this question, does not answer things. The question asks the relationship between economic ownership and political control. A 'republic of merchants' or a state that is absolutist, weak, and changeable?

The Oil Connection

A recent piece of news has shed new light on what could be another storm for both the Clintons. Like an old shipwreck, the crashing waves are slowly revealing more from beneath the sand. Recently, we were treated to the revelation that an agent of Saddam Hussein's essentially financed a junket to visit Iraq before the war and complain about the sanctions' effect on the poor Iraqi children.
(Let's forget for a moment that it turned out that Saddam was actually engaged in a vast criminal enterprise through the oil-for-food program, and was essentially starving his "poor Iraqi children" for PR reasons.) Matt Apuzzo of the AP writes:
Saddam Hussein's intelligence agency secretly financed a trip to Iraq for three U.S. lawmakers during the run-up to the U.S.-led invasion, federal prosecutors said Wednesday.
The three anti-war Democrats made the trip in October 2002, while the Bush administration was trying to persuade Congress to authorize military action against Iraq. While traveling, they called for a diplomatic solution.
Prosecutors say that trip was arranged by Muthanna Al-Hanooti, a Michigan charity official, who was charged Wednesday with setting up the junket at the behest of Saddam's regime. Iraqi intelligence officials allegedly paid for the trip through an intermediary and rewarded Al-Hanooti with 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil. [emphasis added]
The lawmakers are not named in the indictment but the dates correspond to a trip by Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott of Washington, David Bonior of Michigan and Mike Thompson of California. None was charged and Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd said investigators "have no information whatsoever" any of them knew the trip was underwritten by Saddam.
The one thing that stuck out to me most when I read that was the method of payment for Al-Hanooti: 2 million barrels of Iraqi oil. During the grand old days of sanctions, this was a common method of the Hussein regime to do business.
Then, we learn this week that Hillary Clinton also received a visit from Al-Hanooti while at the White House in 1997. Ira Stoll of the New York Sun writes:
In a 1997 interview with this reporter, Hanooti said that at the meeting, Mrs. Clinton was "very receptive" to his request for an easing of the American sanctions on Iraq that were in place at the time. He said Mrs. Clinton "passed a message to the State Department" about the need to implement the oil-for-food deal, which was intended to allow Saddam to sell billions of dollars' worth of oil to pay for food for Iraqi citizens.
It's interesting that Hillary Clinton not only was behind the formation of the oil-for-food program, but that it was a direct contact with an agent of Saddam that accomplished the task.
So, fast forward a few years. Baghdad has fallen, the doors have been kicked open, and the oil-for-food program has become the oil-for-food scandal. What seems amazing now is not only the extent of the corruption, but how little most Americans even know about it.
The left is often proud of its hatred for Enron and the $1.5 billion in corruption it represents. Rightly so -- but they so easily excuse nearly 40 billion in corruption in a single UN program. And while Enron resulted in lost pensions and some ordinary folk getting hurt financially, UN corruption lead to people dying. It leads to looking the other way while genocide rages. It leads to rigged elections. It leads to dictators oppressing their people to use them as PR items for our nightly news. Americans are largely unaware of the fallout of the oil-for-food scandal because it was kept out of most of the world media, and virtually all of the American media.
Contracts through oil-for-food largely went to Russian and French companies. All the oil-for-food money was kept in French banks. (Until 2001, curiously enough.) The U.N. collected a 2.2 percent commission on every barrel of oil sold, generating more than $1 billion in revenue. The Hussein regime also used the contracts to extort money from Iraqi businesses. Literally everyone had their hands in the pot. The response from the French banks to the Volker report is notable.
The report cited Banque Nationale de Paris, which held the escrow account for the $64 billion program and provided the letters of credit needed for the financing, saying it "was in a position to have firsthand knowledge" of what was going on but "did not recognize a particular responsibility to adequately inform the U.N."
The two auditors investigating the oil-for-food program during the "Volker period" left their posts before completing their work. They cited interference, obstruction, and complicity of Kofi Annan's office, just for starters. They spoke of corruption that was of a depth and a breadth they'd never seen before. They had come to the conclusion that whoever set it up not only knew what they were doing, but had done it many times before. They were leaving because they felt that it was impossible for them to complete their investigation fully.
The interesting thing about this (to bring it all full circle) is that the payment Al-Hanooti (and many others) accepted, was oil. Raw crude is not something that you can just bring down to the Exxon station on the corner and "cash in". Especially when said crude comes from a brutal dictatorship that is currently under UN sanctions prohibiting its sale. The oil has to be laundered, so to speak; filtered through a series of shell companies and its source disguised. The people who did this were very specialized, and had to have a background in international finance as well as diplomatic connections.
One of these men was Marc Rich.
The report said Marc Rich & Co. financed 4 million barrels of oil under a 9.5-million-barrel contract awarded to the European Oil and Trading Co., a French-based shell company.
"Surcharges were imposed on the oil," the report said, and "Marc Rich & Co. directed BNP Paris not to disclose its identity to BNP NY in connection with its financing of the U.N. contract."
What I would really like to know now -- and I doubt anyone will ever ask or answer these questions -- are three things:
1. What, exactly, is the relationship between Marc Rich and the Clintons - especially from 1997-2001?
2. Were the Clintons complicit in the founding of the corrupt oil-for-food program or did they just have their hands in the cookie jar like everyone else?
3. Why was the Clinton administration (presumably) completely unaware of the corruption... especially while considering Marc Rich's pardon application?
Enquiring minds do want to know.

The times during which the finality of conflicts expressing that issue may come immediately to the fore, may be rarely recognized by a particular government, or a set of governments, or a people generally. Nonetheless, that higher power of laws is there still, and will manifest itself and its power to crush its adversaries, as in the current moment in present world history.
To wit:
Certain financial powers in today's world have taken over the systems of some among the world's leading governments, and have sought to enforce their own predatory financial and related interest at the expense of the natural and constitutional rights of what had been once considered sovereign nation-states' governments. These asserted rights of such usurping, essentially predatory, financier powers, have been employed as the pretext for an implicitly murderous looting of the greater number of the population, and the plundering of the natural rights of people which had been duly established under relevant actions by and among governments.
When such usurping powers as those go too far, they must be crushed by sovereign governments, or, should sovereign governments fail, tragically, to act to crush those usurping powers, the fabled, terrible spirits of legendary ancient Greece will take a hand in teaching the negligent authorities the true law and its penalties.
Such were the efficient hand of the fabled "unwritten law." As the current global developments should have forewarned you, it had been better that that law had been written, that its terrible powers might have been foreseen with awe, and the price of the terrible, self-inflicted folly, threatening to consume arrogant, presently erring, authorities, thus avoided.
That gentle hand of reason which inspired the Preamble of our U.S. Federal Constitution, can become an apparent reflection of the terrible hand of the Creator for those who continue to be accomplices of financier predators in the looting of our own, and other nations and their people. Those who abuse law to steal the welfare of nations and their peoples, will be punished all the more severely because they have used a terrible corruption of the idea of law to perpetrate such crimes against humanity as our "hedge funds" and kindred predators continue to do even still today.
There are powers inherent in this Created universe which will assert themselves in the due course of events. The world at large now sits on the crumbling brink of an occasion in which the Creator's just hand will intervene to demonstrate afresh exactly who actually writes the law of this universe.
There is no power in this universe which can override the rights inherent in that innate nature of the creative intellectual powers of the individual person, which sets mankind above all other particular forms of existence in this universe.
Let the corrupt judges, legislators, and others, and their accomplices, tremble at that thought. You wish to claim that you know the law? That, and just that, is the law.

I supplement with 400mcg of Selenium most days. IMO you can safely take 600 mcg per day at least for a few weeks if you have had a deficient diet. Once again we are warned about getting too MUCH of a vital substance when 90% of us are getting too LITTLE. Why do you suppose this constantly happens? You would think the law of averages would apply SOMETIME would you not.
IMO you must take a Selenium supplement most days, as you cannot be assured of getting any, unless you eat Brazil nuts. A few good-sized Brazil nuts should be your daily supply of Selenium.

Jesus' follow up statement to Pilate states his intentions and purpose on earth in this linear dimension. All previous decisions that upheld the pledge in the past were made in utter ignorance about the pledge's putrid past, fostered by decades of propaganda repeated in government schools. Even the United States Supreme Court decisions seem to be based on propaganda and ignorance ( and therefore of questionable precedent ) . The other briefs filed in this case are also of questionable value in that they were probably penned by people who have similar ignorance, supplemented with years of learning propaganda. It is hoped that this brief will help to educate everyone about the pledge's horrible pedigree. Most government school students do not know that the 2-word deification in the pledge was not in the original. Undersigned counsel was the first to point out that Francis Bellamy did use the phrase in his original pledge ceremony. That ceremony also touts "Organic Christianity, " a new age, God and religion in various ways. A relative of Francis has been quoted as saying that Francis would have objected to the insertion of the phrase in 1954. That might be true in the sense that Francis would not want other people altering his work. It is probably not true in the sense for which the relative's claim is usually offered. There is no reason to think that the 2-word phrase would have bothered Francis at all if Francis had thought to put it in his own pledge. Francis was pushing "Christian Socialism." The phrase was in the ceremony but not in the pledge. That it was not in the pledge seems almost an oversight ( and it also ruins Francis' pledge beat, but that wasn't the point was it? ) . Francis' original ceremony also makes cryptic references to Edward Bellamy's Bible of National Socialism, and the industrial army, and states "We, the youth of America, who to-day unite to march as one army under the sacred flag, understand our duty." He was America's Leni Riefenstahl. His work was more lasting and is still insanely popular to this day. Photographs confirm it and that is why such photographs are never shown in schools, in the media, in court decisions, and are difficult to find. Due to the way that both gestures were used sequentially in the pledge, the military salute led to the salute of the National Socialist German Workers Party ( NSGWP ) . He died just as his salute and ideas became even more infamous. He had lived long enough to see part of the socialist slaughter in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the beginning of the National Socialist German Workers' Party aping his straight-arm salute. Even when it was performed with the palm up, intelligent people still feared the bizarre ritual, and even moreso when the 1930's arrived. Many religious people were persecuted for refusing to give the straight-arm salute to the national flag. That was the national flag of the USA and of Germany. It was happening in the USA ( to the stars and stripes ) and in Germany ( to the swastika flag ) at the same time. They were good reasons to consider the pledge and the salute to be the sacrilegious worship of government. The world forgets that German National Socialists did not call their symbol a swastika. Most people do not know that a cross was worshiped as the notorious symbol of the National Socialist German Workers' Party. The group called their symbol the Hakenkreuz, not the swastika. Hakenkreuz means "hooked cross." Although the swastika was an ancient symbol, Professor Rex Curry discovered that it was also used sometimes by German National Socialists to represent "S" letters for their "socialism." In Barnette, the Court noted that, "Objections to the salute as 'being too much like Hitler's' were raised by the Parent and Teachers Association, the Boy and Girl [319 U.S. 624, 628] Scouts, the Red Cross, and the Federation of Women's Clubs. ( Fn. 3 ) Some modification appears to have been made in deference to these objections, but no concession was made to Jehovah's Witnesses. ( Fn. 4 ) . What is now required is the 'stiff-arm' salute, the saluter to keep the right hand raised with palm turned up while the following is repeated: 'I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of [319 U.S. 624, 629] America and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.' The Court's footnote 3 stated "The National Headquarters of the United States Flag Association takes the position that the extension of the right arm in this salute to the flag is not the Nazi-Fascist salute, 'although quite similar to it. In the Pledge to the Flag the right arm is extended and raised, palm Upward, whereas the Nazis extend the arm practically straight to the front ( the finger tips being about even with the eyes ) , palm Downward, and the Fascists do the same except they raise the arm slightly higher.' James A. Moss, The Flag of the United States: Its History and Symbolism ( 1914 ) 108." In the footnote, Moss uses the hackneyed shorthand terms that were NOT used by the National Socialist German Workers' Party, and Moss follows the modern habit of never using the actual name of the Party. Thus, Moss ( and the Court ) is prevented from making any connection to the Bellamy dogma of National Socialism ( of which the writer was probably unaware anyway ) . The descriptions of the foreign salutes is not only inaccurate, but Moss thus misses their source in the early Pledge of Allegiance, with the question never even crossing his mind. The section states that the original Youth's Companion describes a different gesture, but the section fails to face the fact that the Youth's Companion gesture is NOT how the pledge was actually performed ( until, as Barnette notes, people started to complain about the fact that it was the SAME, and the government realized that they weren't mandating the original description. Later, the government gave up and went for the hand-over-the- heart. IT is amazing that Congress decided to inject itself into the mess, and that it did so after the USA was in WWII ) . There is support for the religious connection from other authors who compare the Holocaust under the National Socialist German Workers Party to an Inquisition ( including religious persecution ) undertaken by the leader of German National Socialism under his religious beliefs. Many of those people in Germany were persecuted, and some were killed. They were also persecuted in the USA for refusing to perform the straight-arm salute in worship of the national flag and the government during the Pledge of Allegiance. Jewish Folks and Jehovah's Witnesses, and blacks and people of various races and backgrounds were required by law to perform the straight-arm salute in government schools in robotic chanting every morning at the ring of a government bell ( just as it is done today but with a different gesture ) . The USA was doing the straight arm salute to the national flag for three decades before German National Socialists started doing the same thing. Some of the major Supreme Court cases in the USA started in the 1930's and weren't decided until the 1940's. At first, the religious children were unsuccessful as plaintiffs and they were expelled from the socialist schools for refusing to perform the straight-arm salute and robotically chant the pledge. The children had to use the many better alternatives, including home-schooling and their own church or temple schools, but they ( and their schools ) were often persecuted by socialists there also. That happened because of socialists who support restrictions on immigration and restrictions on every American's right to hire, to do business, and to freely associate. It was similar to today. Socialists in the USA still support restrictions on immigration and they reject the right of every American in living with, marrying, renting to, selling to, buying from, hiring ( as housekeeper, lawn man, doctor, nanny, teacher etc ) any person with whom that American wishes to associate. People forget the past. The Bellamys were bigots, racists, and xenophobes and they obsessed about immigrants coming into the USA. They wanted to impose a heavy-handed method of brain-washing immigrants and all Americans into accepting their Christian Socialism. Because of the Bellamys, the USA has a long history of turning immigrants away from being good Americans and independent capitalists, and in turning immigrants into socialists who are dependent on government. The Bellamys promoted a government takeover of schools. When the government granted their wish, the government schools imposed segregation by law and taught racism as official government policy. In 1939, the National Socialist German Workers' Party and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics joined as allies to invade Poland in a pact to divide up Europe. After WWII, Stalin and Mao went on to kill even more people. It led to the socialist Wholecaust ( of which the Holocaust was a part ) : 62 million killed under the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; 49 million under the Peoples' Republic of China; 21 million under the National Socialist German Workers' Party. Many Americans are sad examples of how places like that come into existence, grow so large, last so long, and kill so many. At the height of National Socialism abroad, the USA's government deliberately fell farther into the same abyss with national numbering of humans imposed in 1935 with the social security system. The federal government was growing massively and attempting to nationalize the economy in many ways. The US Supreme Court struck down much of the new legislation as unconstitutional until justices were pressured by the "switch in time that socialized nine." Authors of books about the Pledge of Allegiance try to make their stories relevant to current events. Such stories are relevant to the fact that the present government in the USA is anti libertarian and is out-socializing the previous administration by more than double and growing ( in social spending ALONE ) . The demonic dogma of socialism and human sacrifice is still growing all over the world. The USA still follows similar anti libertarian policies promoted by the Bellamys. Many socialist Bellamy policies caused the USA's big, expensive and oppressive government and its growing police-state. The Pledge still exists along with laws mandating that teachers lead the robotic pledge chanting every day for twelve years of each child's life ( though the salute was altered ) . The government still owns and operates schools, including the same schools that imposed segregation by law and taught racism as official government policy. The U.S. practice of imposing segregation by law in government schools and teaching racism as official policy even outlasted the National Socialist German Workers' Party by over 15 years. After segregation in government's schools ended, the Bellamy legacy caused more police-state racism of forced busing that destroyed communities and neighborhoods and deepened hostilities. Those schools still exist. Infants are given social security numbers that track and tax them for life. Government schools demand the numbers for enrollment. Real Americans don't pledge allegiance. Real Americans declare their independence. It is in keeping with THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE ( U.S. 1776 ) . If government's schools taught the true history of the pledge, then no child would chant it. If Americans knew the truth, then the pledge would cease to exist. Fight the flag hags and their flag fetish. Government's schools should not teach kids to verbally fellate flags each morning. It is like a brainwashed cult of the omnipotent state. For adults it is childish. The Pledge of Allegiance is emotional masturbation. The federal government has no place in education and it is tyrannical. Federal flags are at schools to prevent liberty and to impose National Socialism. The Pledge is the most visible sign of the USA's growing police state. Remove the Pledge from the flag, the flags from schools, and the schools from government.
CONCLUSION For the foregoing reasons, undersigned counsel files this amicus curiae brief arguing that the Court uphold the district court's injunction.

ARGUMENT: Long ago, before government became so massive and before the USA's growing police state, most children were not educated in government schools. Even after government schools began to be imposed ( with more taxation ) , there was no flag, and no robotic chanting in worship of government and its flag.
All of that changed.
For nearly fifty years, laws have been used to compel that flags be placed in each classroom and that teachers begin each day by leading children in robotic chanting in worship of government and its flag. Until the previous panel's courageous decision in this case, and its progeny, it seemed all was lost and no hope existed. Elk Grove Indep. Sch. Dist. v. Newdow, 542 U.S. 1 ( 2004 ) . All previous decisions that upheld the pledge in the past were made in utter ignorance about the pledge's putrid past, fostered by decades of propaganda repeated in government schools. Even the United States Supreme Court decisions seem to be based on propaganda and ignorance ( and therefore of questionable precedent ) . The other briefs filed in this case are also of questionable value in that they were probably penned by people who have similar ignorance, supplemented with years of learning propaganda. It is hoped that this brief will help to educate everyone about the pledge's horrible pedigree. The Pledge of Allegiance was written by a self-proclaimed Christian Socialist who wanted the government to takeover all schools in order to impose his dogma on everyone.

A relative of Francis has been quoted as saying that Francis would have objected to the insertion of the phrase in 1954. That might be true in the sense that Francis would not want other people altering his work. It is probably not true in the sense for which the relative's claim is usually offered. There is no reason to think that the 2-word phrase would have bothered Francis at all if Francis had thought to put it in his own pledge. Francis was pushing "Christian Socialism." The phrase was in the ceremony but not in the pledge. That it was not in the pledge seems almost an oversight ( and it also ruins Francis' pledge beat, but that wasn't the point was it? ) . An educated prospector has a good chance of becoming a successful miner. However, you must be very careful who you are getting your education from. What are the teacher's qualifications? And always remember that an expert is one who knows one more thing about the subject than you know.
Twenty six years ago I faced this dilemma. I made a career move. I lived and worked in the Bay Area. I made a move to the Mother Lode County in Jamestown, California. I thought it would be a lot of fun to become a gold prospector. So I bought two books on "how to find gold." I read the books, went to the creek and started panning for gold. There was a couple of the people out there and they showed me the "right way" to pan-I was impressed! But after two hours of panning the "right way," I had the same results as doing it the "wrong way."
The next day, someone suggested I had the wrong color of pan. I could hardly wait until I got that green pan. I was sure that must have been my problem so I bought two of them to make sure I had an extra one. By now I'm starting to get frustrated: I'm panning the "right way." I got the green pan. I'm panning where the book said I should be. And had since purchased a sluice box. Now what the hell is wrong? I'm not stupid. My next opportunity came by surprise. I was having coffee at the Mother Lode Coffee Shop and a "local" came in and I overheard him say to the people at the next table, "Nicolneni found a 3oz nugget on Woods Creek this morning in the back of the "Rawhide Saloon." I left my coffee and was on my way. When I got there, he was panning. I introduced myself as the mining supply shop keeper in Jamestown. I told him what "Pete" had just said at the coffee shop and I asked him if he would teach me how to find gold as I someday wanted to teach others not only how but where to look. He pulled out of his pocket a 1/4 DWT nugget and remarked, "Sounds like Pete exaggerated a little bit." He remarked gold stories are a lot like fish stories. I left, went back to the coffee shop and was sure the "local boys" had set me up. But to my surprise the others had left and Pete was by himself so I sat down and asked him. He repeated his story. It was a 3oz piece and it wasn't the first one he saw out of Woods Creek. But he did tell me something that made sense. He said those who are really successful in finding gold are not going to help you or anyone else. Two reasons: personal security and they want to keep the spot a secret. Now I'm really frustrated: I had chased down the "old timers." I have rundown those who have found lots of gold and I have read the books and by now I've been to seminars, bought tapes, joined a mining club and still no luck. I feel like the person for whom "fools gold" was named. But I still have two things going for me. I am the most determined person I have ever met. When I set my goal I give it 150%. I just don't consider failure because I have always found the answer. One day I'm in my shop refocusing on the problem. I know where the answer is. All I have to do is figure out how to get it. The answer and secret lies with those who find lots of gold. I have to figure out how I can get them to share their secrets with me. Then I am trying to figure out what goes with gold, what human characteristics we all possess to one degree or another and I link Gold and Greed together. I think I have discovered the key to the secret.
I ran this ad in the free weekend papers from Mariposa to Downeyville. Ralph Shock at Gold Prospecting Adventures in Jamestown will pay $10.00 more per ounce of gold than anyone else in the gold county---in lots of 5 pounds or more. My logic is, if you have 5 pounds of gold you sure know a lot more about finding gold than I do and that is your Ph.D. and because we all possess greed to some degree or another will cause you to look me up. I won't have to try to find you.
Well not too much happened until about two weeks later. A short guy came in my shop carrying a Safeway grocery bag (3 or 4 bags inserted into each other for added strength) set it on the floor in front of my counter. I was sitting at my desk swatting flies with my feet cocked up on the desk. I wasn't impressed with the bag because people bring bags of rocks into my store every day wanting me to look at them and see if they contain gold and I'm sure that was what he had. But he asked me if I was buying gold. I said yes, he said how much can you use? I said everything you have. (I buy gold for kids to pan out front of my store).Most people bring in one or two DWT of gold and I buy it on a regular basis. Anyway, he walks over to where my gold pans are and returns with a 14" pan, sets it on the counter and dumps the contents of the bag into the pan. From my desk I saw 4 or more nuggets about as big as my fist go into that pan. He got my attention! I layed down the fly swatter, got up and went to the counter and picked up gold nuggets larger than I have ever seen and when I touched them, I knew it was gold. I looked at him. When we made eye contact he said if you need more I have more in the trunk of my car. Outside, in front of my door was an old four door Buick Skylark which I could see through the open door. The rearend was a lot lower than the front, (the trunk was full of gold. I know because when he left, my wife escorted him to a sale where he purchased some of my old mining equipment and paid for it in gold from the trunk). Anyway I am in a state of shock and my knees are weak. Here's my problem: my teacher is here before me and I don't have the tuition fee. I had about $20.00 in my register but I didn't want him to know this yet. I didn't want this opportunity to slip away from me. So, after I collected my composure, I said "I can't weigh this gold. My scales don't go that high. Let's take it across the street to the grocery store." We walked into the store and asked for permission to use the produce scale. It weighed over 11 ounces (avoirdupois) value some where around $140,000.00. I video taped this event. While walking back across the street to my store, I am desperately trying to figure out how to handle this situation. I sure don't want to alienate him since I don't have the money. What else do I have to offer? So when we get back to the store, I remember the old adage the best defense is a strong offense.
I walked behind the counter and I looked this miner right in the eye and I said,"Friend, you have a problem." He looked at me perplexed and said that he was averaging 10 pounds of gold every two weeks for 8 months and he needed to sell some. I said,"Well here's the problem. If you go up and down Highway 49 showing the gold, someone is going to take it away from you."
Let me offer you a suggestion. I don't have enough money to buy your gold but I do own this store and we do a lot of business here on consignment. I will sell it for you and not charge the normal 10% commission in exchange of your telling me how and where to look for gold, (not where you found this gold). He agreed and left me $10,000 worth of gold and asked me specifically what I wanted to know.
So I took a piece of paper and drew an outline of a hypothetical creek (an aerial view showing a primary flow and a secondary flow). Then I put a clear sheet of plastic over this drawing and I simply asked when was the gold found? He proceeded to point out the area saying,"Here, in this spot, we found 30 ounces behind some large boulders underneath the gravel on the bedrock." He said there were many boulders there "but just these two had large deposits" (one was about 20' down stream from the other). Then he pointed to two other spots. 8 ounces in a tree root and 25 ounces upstreaming in some crevices. He didn't have the answer as to why just selected crevices, tree roots and boulders held the nuggets. He left shortly there after. Others bring in large amounts of gold. I make them the same proposition. Each time I put a clean plastic sheet over the same basic drawing. After about six interviews, I am observing something interesting. While gold was found in a tree root at spot one, another prospector pointed out that he found gold at the stream configuration, but in different environments (in a crevis). I studied this for many days. I could not figure it out and I forgot it for a while (I thought). Then all of a sudden, a light went on. I realized the explanation involved some simple laws of physics and hydrology and geometry. Does this mean I had discovered a secret to find placer gold, scientifically? I was excited. I closed the shop and raced to Woods Creek and within 15 minutes I found my first nugget. True it was only about half as large as a pencil eraser but to me that was great. I came back to the store and returned to the creek. About two hours later I looked in a different part of the creek and found my second nugget. It was almost as large as an eraser.

China Plans to Shift Use of Foreign Exchange Reserves (Update2)

Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- China, the world's biggest consumer of coal and metals, will use its foreign exchange reserves to buy ``strategic'' resources, Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan said.
The government will increase the nation's purchases of resources for strategic stockpiling when there are ``plentiful'' reserves, Zeng said in a speech carried on the Ministry of Land and Resources Web site today.
China is seeking to boost returns on its $1 trillion of reserves by buying higher yielding assets and diversifying its investment. Premier Wen Jiabao said last week that regulators will consider more ways of using the cash pile. The nation is building an emergency supply of crude oil and plans to expand that to metals to shield the world's fastest-growing major economy from supply disruptions.
``We want to build a stockpile mechanism for mineral resources,'' Zeng said in the speech. He didn't give any details of how much of its reserves China might use for the purpose. The government plans to increase resources taxes within three years to curb excessive mining and conserve supplies, he said.
China also wants to reorganize the mining and resources industry, including accelerating the pace of overseas acquisitions to boost output, and attracting foreign investment in prospecting, Zeng said. State oil companies in China agreed two years ago to co-invest in oil fields in Venezuala.
Geological Fund
China, the second-largest holder of Treasuries, trimmed purchases of U.S. government debt by 1.7 percent in the first 10 months of 2006 to $346.5 billion. The government may set up an agency to manage $200 billion of its reserves modeled on Singapore's state-owned Temasek Holdings Pte, wrote Standard Chartered Plc economist Stephen Green last week.
China completed a 3.7 billion yuan ($476 million) oil storage tank in Zhenhai in October and has started filling it, Jiang Weixin, vice chairman at the National Development and Reform Commission, said Oct. 17. China is building storage tanks for crude oil in the cities of Zhenhai, Zhousan, Qingdao and Dalian. The facilities are set to be completed in 2008.
The country's oil imports rose 14.5 percent in 2006 to 145.2 million metric tons (2.9 million barrels a day), customs said Jan. 11.
The nation last year set up a geological fund of 2 billion yuan that is aimed at boosting exploration for 16 key minerals including coal, iron ore, uranium and copper.

You look at old folks just being forced to live against their will and wonder why we don't have a viable suicide option in place. Everyone wants a quality of life and fulfillment and yet a time comes when we realise we're losing out and the course is certain, sure and irreversible and this when we really give up any rational expectation of improvement like being sick and bedridden in misery very late in life and it makes me think this life is a punishment being forced on people like that. I can understand suicide because of dissatisfaction with life not going the way you might like too, maybe even agree with it. I'm tired of what other people think, it's high time we took control of our own life and death as far as timing is concerned, so my proposal is to make suicide legal, affordable and convienent. Wouldn't it be nice to stop by your local druggist for a quick perscription of the right amount of sodium barbituate to sleep forever. ) I was reluctant to post this but I did because it is part of an argument I'll explain. First, it is failure to thrive in the policestate environment evidenced by declining birthrates in the west and secondly an outright rejection of society and life itself yielding to immutable death. After all who wants to live being controlled and dominated. I think this idea should fare as well or better than gay bars which are springing up all over the Uk. At last we reach the end and post a disclaimor saying never try this yourself and many happy days to you, so it is more an arguement, commentary and perspective because the world is already very discouraging anyway. Just keep hope alive.

OOf, crunch, PUKE, splat! you're in jail on trumped up felonies, no help, hold hands with your cellie, jail is kinda gay anyway. I'm trying to say you have no idea of reality, some people say that to me because I won't shut up, but if rape victims remain silent how can anything be done, not that I am a rape victim except of my rights and the police etc are concerned about recieving just recompence for their labors. But thats illustrative of how other people help me" screw them and whatever god they serve, do I help people, of course and do I treat them with respect and civility, of course and conversely? So really read ayn rand on the virtue of selfishness because you are your last best hope and only one to wipe your ass, other people may rip your ass off etc but I wouldn't rightly expect much positive from them. What you and everyone needs is a framework of rules to work within and thats where real govt comes in and everyone stands for the common law and peoples rights and their are courts that administer justice. But go look and let me know where you can find them in this world, I've thought about where I fit in and where I belong, I like anyone want to have a home, but people and society keep ruining it for me, so I'd like to get away and I will in time. there are so many ways to solve problems - why does everyone make it more difficult than it has to be. most people are not in the intended audience - some people would rather make payments on a new couch and fridge. people need motivation to change and a lecture will not motivate. others just don't have access to money. maybe gardening or brewing their own beer would be more suitable to their situation. Mostly, one group of people fear another because they see the other supporting the enemy. the other sees the first supporting their enemy. In fact, they both have the same enemy and both support that enemy.

I made a notation of our conversation in hopes some passersby would read some of the links I think are worthwhile, but Eldorado is disappointing me acting like a poser cop provocateur as well as being whiney. morbius is pretty good, so stop back and read some of the ideas here if you get a chance, but I'm hoping to retain coherence and not greatly devolve to chit chat and titty flopper icons etc even if it is mozel's discretion. What I do is pop in here and try to post mozel links, then some others that know me check in here and post as well, trying to keep it a serious discussion board that can be understood. gone soon for tonight at least.
