  DD will be a senior next year. She has taken all honors and AP classes and does well. She is in French 4 this year and has been recommended for AP French next year. She also is in French Honor Society. She is a natural with French, picks it up quickly, and does well. Problem is she really doesn't like it and doesn't want to take AP French next year. She will take other AP courses and feels she has more than fulfilled the required language for college. Part of me thinks it's a shame to drop French if she is so good at it. She doesn't even try and is good. She says her pronounaciation is bad though and that's what they do in AP French. Would you butt in and make her take the French?

  Any ideas for under-eye makeup to hide dark circles (tired, lack of sleep eyes). When I use concealer or liquid makeup, the lines show up horribly. I'd love to hide the dark circles, though.
  I have so many wrinkles when I smile...my skin must be genetically bad. I look 10 years older than I am, and I'm not vain nor exaggerating. Any suggestions for skin repair, other than botox or surgical fixes?
  I'm wanting to start dating, but honestly, most men won't believe I'm in my 50s. I do look in 60s, especially when you see my skin in bright lighting or sunlight, and when I smile or laugh. It's awful. I let myself go for too many years while raising my kids along, and now I'm paying for it bigtime.

  My New Year's resolution/wish for 2009 has finally come true!! A few weeks late, but it's all good. I wanted a diaper-free house by the start of 2010, and.......
  
  Both my kids are now potty trained!!! My son was in October at 3.5 yrs, and my daughter has been diaper-free for two weeks with only two accidents, and she turned two last Saturday.

  My youngest will be going to high school and it will be a whole new way of life. I need to get her more organized for next year. She doesn't take too well to any system I suggest, so I thought maybe outside help might be an option. The facility we tested with is a good distance away, so I was hoping to find one closer.

  I have a cross country cousin who is my fb friend. I, of course, love getting her family updates and such. She is a photographer and has a fan page for her photography stuff. I am not her fan. BUT, she uses her personal page to promote her photography stuff-- like 6 times a day! She is constantly doing contests and such. Now she has started sending friend invites to MY friends, who live LITERALLY across the country from her. Like 32 hours by car!
  
  Fist off, are there no manners? Shouldn't business things be restricted to business pages. Following that, what is the etiquette involved in asking her to stop bothering my friends-- she has over 700, she doesn't need mine. Is there some type of facebook rule about businesses needing to have a business page as opposed to a regular person page? And finally, is there any way to block her status updates but still keep her as a friend?
  
  Please don't get me wrong, if there were an occasional ad (like once a month) or a single invite sent out to become a fan of her business page, I would certainly have no problem with that-- but this is crazy. I hate to knock her off my friend list, but she is driving me nuts, and now this friending my friends thing. Ugh!

• Advice on repeating kindergarten -- kindergarten mamma, 18:11:32 01/28/10 Thu [14]
  dd has a summer birthday, and our school district is a big supporter of two years of kindergarten. She is doing great academically, but is very immature socially, and has a hard time sitting still, and is impulsive with other kids, etc. She prefers to play with 3 year olds rather than 5 year olds. I was all for her doing two years of kindergarten, but then the teacher recently recommended two years of first grade instead, as she is doing well academically, and they think she would benefit from the reading foundation in first grade. My gut is that is she stays with her current cohort, she will always struggle socially. She is currently the youngest in her class.
  
  She will go to a different school (parochial) for the second year of whatever we decide to do. That was in the plans already. I do not think she is mature enough (yet) to even get that she is repeating. Life is one big party for her everyday...God bless her! Any insights or thoughts??
