Well said Matthias. Badawi should resigned and in fact the whole money sucker UMNO majlis Tertinggi should resign as well. We indeed have a very corrupted cabinet ministers from UMNO. But will Badawi and those moron UMNO ministers will resign? No way, that is their periuk kekayaan, Wawasan 88 88. It is a pity that UMNO does not fight for what they should to be proud of but instead kissing so many of their leader's ass blindly.

The rakyat especially the Malays should raise and demand Badawi to resign, and replace by interim PM, Mahathir even though this guy is also another untrusted person. But look, atleast he has brain. To be serious, right now, only Zaid Ibrahim seems capable to be the potential PM. Najib and Mr Speedy Gonzales, Nazri are definitely out. Mustapafah was a potential until he made a no brainer boo boo onto YB Datuk Ong Tee Keat, who is another potential PM but inexperience.

Wow - that is food for thought.

They'll replace the Constitutional law with Syariah and Huhud. Then it's Taliban time for everyone!!! Rewind your clock 1000years

Sorry to divert from the topic of discussion. But seriously my friends - PAS is not a viable alternative!! If you want to vote for opposition, DAP and Keadilan are the only viable options. At least with these 2, you still have a chance to change later.

Dear Bloggers,
Sometimes I wish there are more bloggers who will tell their opinions from the other side, not just anti-BN everywhere. Far too often, we hear just the bad and the ugly stories about AAB and UMNO/BN.

My point is, it's hard to see the truth when you only hear one side of the story all the time ie.. AAB bashing. We should have more blggers who are more objective and maybe even pro-BN to balance out the big picture in MT. Then the debates will be more meaningful and enlightening.

While I am not pro-BN, I am also not fully convinced that AAB is truly as devious and corrupted as people are saying he is in MT. I think it's the works of KJ and many Mahathir-bred UMNO politicians that are giving AAB the bad raps. UMNO today = 22yrs of Mahathir. I certainly think AAB is trying to change and is far more open and liberal compared to the TDM, like..to allow us to speak so freely here.

What I have against UMNO are the NEP and it's racist policies, not AAB personally. I don't think AAB had much choice when he took over as the PM. These policies are far too entrenched into the lifeblood of UMNO architected and polished to perfection by TDM, that it's very difficult for AAB to try to dismantle and make the change like a flip of the light switch. If he tried to weed out all the corrupted politicians and the rotten policies suddenly, I bet he won't last much longer as the PM/UMNO president.

Having said this, as far as I am concerned, AAB is only as good as UMNO policies at the end of the day. So, if he can't correct UMNO's and BN's corrupted ways and their racist policies, then my vote will still go to the Opposition.

Looks like all the anti-Abdullah bloggers just simply take whatever is dished out as "the truth, nothing but the truth". Looks like common sense and diligent assessment has been thrown out of the door. No I am not saying that they are not true but really just taking whatever is said as THE truth speaks of the level (low) of mentality.

My personal take is that there is too much corruption previously (during the years of MM) which cannot be exposed now; too much to loose. All must to be done to prevent this and at ALL and WHATEVER cost including disrupting the unity and the common good of the country. These people are doing a great job ... our current PM suddenly finds he on the defensive cannot really go all out to right the wrongs ... its a pity really.

No wonder AA Badawi was not happy when the Thai Army took over Thailand. He was telling it is not a democratic way to do. So, if we wait for Democratic process, he and his family with his Barisan Cornies will enjoy for ever.
When first this issue came out in Public, the Good for Nothing Foriegn Minister Syed Hamid, said thst its not our PM but a different Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Can the fool show any Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who has the power to recommend for the deal?
In India, Natwar Singh was the Foriegn Minister, when his name and his son's company was implicated in the report; Sonia Gandhi, the President of The Indian Congress Party, immediately sacked Natwar Singh from Party high office; Natwar Singh on his part, tender his resignation as Minister to the President thru the PM of India. This is to keep up the Country's name, the party, race and religion clean. The case is still under probe by the Indian CBI.
But here the so call Anti Corruption Agency, do not even know, head or tail about the whole issue? They will ask, what Oil for Food Deal?
The best deal for our country now is to advise our King who is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to temperorialy take over the country by the Armed Forces and appoint a intrim Prime Minister. Bring all the those corrupted Politicians to court, past and present, confisticate their properties which are earn illegaly and throw the key of the prison into the sea.

Some bloggers suggested TDM to return to role the country. So to these bloggers , it is alright for TDM to ' tak tahu' (I do not know)about the event without him saying it.

When Pak Lah said ' saya tak tahu' about certain events, many people come up to condemn him.

What a double standard !!!

If Pak Lah is really wrong in this event, TDM should take some responsibity as the PM then.

Whatever, vote for opposition in next GE.

Another one of Matthias Chang's gems:
"They made obscene profits at the expense of fellow Muslims who were suffering from 12 years of brutal economic sanctions! 500,000 children died as a result of the sanctions. This is Blood Money!"

Strong stuff, but does it make sense? Consider the following:

1. Mastek made very little, if any, profit from its illegal trading of 40 million barrels of oil in 2000-2002.

2. At that time, the Iraqis were having great difficulty selling their oil because of the sanctions and the Iraqi government's insistence on the surcharge. As a result, the oil for food programme had become seriously underfunded (see http://www.casi.org.uk/guide/funding.html). If Mastek had not bought the oil, in all likelihood those 40 million barrels would probably not have been sold at all.

3. The US$884,919,027 and US$171,771,487 quoted in this article was the value of the oil contracts. That is, it is the amount paid to purchase the oil under the oil for food programme (It certainly was NOT the amount "earned" by these companies as was implied). This means that most of this money would have then been used for the purchase of humanitarian goods for Iraqi citizens.

So, their illegal actions actually meant that normal Iraqi people received hundreds of millions of dollars worth of food and medicine that they probably would not have gotten otherwise.

Yes, what these companies did was wrong both legally and morally. And they probably did act out of greed rather than any desire to help the Iraqi people. But to say that they made obscene profits while contributing to the deaths of 500,000 children is simply ridiculous.

Furthermore, these 2 companies were not the only ones guilty of sanctions busting. Table 8 of the Volcker report contains a long list of Malaysian companies alleged to have given kickbacks for contracts to supply humanitarian goods under the programme. Interestingly, the list includes a certain car company we all know and love. Aren't these companies all also guilty of taking "Blood Money", Matthias?
