Subject: I'm hearing allot of chatter about opening the 9" tire class to anything on 9" tires. Here is my 2 cents on this subject, the DFW Outlaw Class was created for those that could not hang with the King of the Hill cars. Life was good until the King of the Hill cars starting running the DFW Outlaw Class. I heard loads of pissing & moaning over that and the rules. If you open up the 9" class then the exact same thing will happen to it. If it is left as is, then the boys that do not have unlimited funds will remain in and have a class to call their own. I strongly feel like it will grow if the rules are left alone. This class has had numerous winners the past two years and no one person has dominated it unlike other classes. When 5.5 to 6.5 cars can compete, go several rounds and possibly have a chance of winning then it will grow. I'll climb off my soapbox now and wait for the sh*t to hit the fan.

Well who enforces the rules of the class. I have't seen anybody have to pop there hood in a while also the scales have been broke for a while now also. Before they start a new class they need to control the one they already have. (NT)9 inch class19:49:35 11/25/07 Sun
So who do you think is cheating in this class? I think everyone has been running the same times all year long. So that would mean they had to be cheating when the scales worked and they were looking under the hoods. (NT)Derek19:08:11 11/26/07 Mon
Im not calling anybody out on cheating, just stating that if somebody changes there setup that does not fit the rules who would know. I think this is a competitive class and ususally the guy with the most brains and luck wins not the fastest. We all know some of these cars on big tires lay some nice times down but still have not won on nines yet. (NT)9 inch class13:47:57 11/27/07 Tue

Yeah shopmom some can take out that weight, but I know I can't. My car weights 3450 with driver that is with no weight added. Plus the way I look at it is if someone has to cheat win then they are pretty sorry. I think the times will stay about the same will take a low 60 to win. I just hope I Can win more races this year and get the car a little faster. (NT)Derek20:18:00 11/27/07 Tue
Derek, get off your high horse man! The original post was not about cheating. Nobody was referring to cheating and no body was accused of cheating or referred to as cheating. All they asked was is it going to be open to anything goes on 9’ inch tires. Nobody mentioned cheating till you did! Lighten up dude! (NT)..21:43:51 11/28/07 Wed
I've beening running this class for the last two year. We have from time to time popped the hoods and checked motor combos. More a spot check than anything. As for opening up the class, I would vote NO. Most already have a class to race, keep it for the smal fry. (NT)Gravy08:48:35 11/29/07 Thu
Should be called the 9 in nitrous classs since thats all you can run in it. (NT)Mike C.15:26:53 11/29/07 Thu
I think the Cuda weighs about 32-3300lb with Slick Rick in it. I aint scared though. 2-2 RickMike C.15:33:44 11/29/07 Thu
A lot of people add weight right above the rear tires regardless. It helps these cars. I am running a different setup this year. Same motor. I dont think the power adder should matter. You can only do so much with a stock block and nine inch tires anyway. I mean if a big block with a big stage can enter then Ithink a small block with a blower or turbo should be able to. I think its all about getting it down the track on these 9's (NT)Mike C.15:53:44 11/29/07 Thu
Hey this is getting interesting lot of stuff is comming up on this 9 inch board.Seems were getting more people looking to run in the class.thats what we need is for everybody to get together and work at getting a good car count and a even playing field for everyone that wants to race. Tight races is what fans wont to see and the main thing is that we all have fun doing it.If we all can get this class to grow we can all benifit from it down the road. Kelly had alot of good ideals last year he was wanting to do for us racers. Alot of it really did not get around to everybody but this year if we can get everybody together thats interisted in running at a metting a lot of things can be talked about and decided on. Lets make this class grow I really like its fun and everyone involved with it and every racer are a class act. (NT)Bubba Jackson (MONGOOSE CUDA"S)19:00:13 11/29/07 Thu
Hey Russ great thats what we need. If we can get the class to grow it will be a great show and you can sell a great show anywhere. You know were all a bunch of budget racers and dont have the funds to blow a motor and slap another one in for next weekends race. Some of us have slowed our cars down to run 9*S and some are running as hard as they can go but its made for some damn good racing. Kelly told me last year about some ideas he had he wanted to do for the class and I hope he still wants to. When we all get togeather he can tell all and i think everyone will agree. Remember its not if we win or loose its how we play the game. Guys come join us and let the fun began. (NT)Bubba Jackson (MONGOOSE CUDAS)08:34:29 11/30/07 Fri
