Subject: CONFINEMENT OF COMPETITIONS ON BASIS OF AREA OF RESIDENCE

10.1.1. In the confinement of a competition on an area basic the area of confinement must be a specific geographic area, for example, a city, county or Region, or an area within a specified radius of the venue of the competititon.

10.2.1. Where a competititon is confined on area basis the normal place of residence of a competitor and not the place of residence of his teacher nor the venue of the class attended shall determine of competitor�s eligibility to compete.

10.2.2. Where a dancer is a student who, for the purposes of full-time education, resides during school or university term elsewhere rather than in the normal place or residence of his parents or legal guardians, then the normal place of residence of his parents or legal guardians shall be regarded as the normal place of residence of the dancer for the purpose of competing in registered dancing competititons unless An Coimisi�n shall authorise otherwise in accordance with the provisions of Rule 10.2.3. below.

10.2.2. In the case of a dancer of the category referred to in Rule 10.2.2. above the permission of An Coimisi�n may be sought to have the place of residence of the dancer for the purpose of full-time education regarded as his normal place of residence for the purpose of competing in registered dancing competititons. Normally such permission should be sought before 1st October and, should the required permission be given, the concession will expire on the following 30th June. The grant or refusal of such permission shall be at the sole discretion of An Coimisi�n.

10.3.1. No Rule pf An Coimisi�n, or absence of an appropriate Rule, shall operate to enable any dancer to tak� part in more than one Regional qualifying competition for the same Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne.
