There's not much you can do about this year's return. Adjusting witholdings will factor into next year's return. Whatever you do, don't claim amy as a dependant. That's what I did and that's why I owed.

all stocks have taken such a big hit that they cant really go much lower. Yes, I agree that this is not driving the overall market falling but I will say that this is the driving force in AAPL's plunge. If this had happened when AAPL was over 150 and market sentiment was still ok, AAPL would have taken at least a 20% hit. My cousin guesses it would have been 20-25%. I thought higher but hes the expert so Ill go with him.

Jono, I got screwed on my return last year. I changed to married status but fucked up my witholdings. Since you and Amy both have decent jobs, you should be careful about your witholdings. Also remember that you bought a house last year so you should be rolling in the dough on your return.

In addition you and amy should contact your he departments and adjust your w-4 to married with 2 exemptions because that is how you will file your return. Big Ben is actually the bell inside of the clock tower. The actual tower that everyone commonly referred to as Big Ben is actually called the "Clock Tower of London".

Congrats, you are now ready to play who wants to be a millionaire, so that you might find the girl you fell in love with.

Scotch - Single Malt is the only way to go. Might I suggest the very drink I let all of you taste at the SW in Vegas: Glenlivet. The higher ages are more expensive, but unless you truly know single malt scotches and can tell the difference, buying the higher numbers only shows that you are presumptuous.

I plan to work on my resume in the near future just in case. I am still undertermined whether this is just paranoia or not." - Jono, paranoia suggests that they might let you go. Do you have any evidence (sales numbers, etc.) that would prove otherwise? Many times that paranoia can be cured with that. It isn't also a bad thing to ask for honest feedback from your boss as you become more comfortable with him. I am sorry to hear you are stressing about this, nonetheless.

Please, someone show me how to post a picture on the board.

Jono you should file married. It depends on your situation whether it helps or hurts you. For instance this year I do not get a benefit for student loan interest but if I were married to my current gf I would. In addition if the one stops the bush tax cuts as stated it will reinstate the "marriage penalty" because of tax bracket differences that the bush cuts made the same.

i have been contemplating such a switch for some time (mainly because whenever we have a happy hour i am the only one drinking beer) but have yet to make a move. the biggest problem for me is finding the right drink, be it scotch/whiskey/semen. i have, in times past, had some really good scotch, but i always forget the stuff that i like and, even when i remember, i often times find myself not liking what i had and enjoyed before. it's a struggle but i am more than willing to keep up the good fight.

I did not get the "Big Ben" reference from the current board picture until I went down and read posts referencing it. Oh my, I am a retard.

I have come to the realization that when Joo says he texted a picture, there is ao nly a 26% chance of success. I am of the 74%. Joo, please post on the board.

When approaching a urinal to take a pee, it has come to my attention that I have my penis out in full view of any potential person standing in between me and the urinal a good 2 steps prior to resting in my final peeing pose. this is compltely unintentional but shows my efficieny.

The job is going well but my boss is a bit of an overreacting blow hard. He's extremely smart and innovative, but he is quick to judge, quick to talk before fully listening and is a bit intimidating. This is a good thing as most bosses I have worked for are pushovers.

Lately, I have been annoyed with the situation in my office refridgerator. See, it is way too full. Normally, I would be delighted by this as it would cleary indicate that more people are packing lunches and less people are going out to eat, thus saving money and being less fat. The rub is in the overabundance of insulated lunch "boxes" physically IN the refridgerator. My understanding is that you buy an insulated lunch box in order to pack your lunch and keep it at your side without worry of any food spoiling because of the design of the insulted bag (i.e., keeping the hot/cold out while keeping the hot/cold in). So, it boggles my mind that one would buy a device specifically desinged so you DON'T have to have a refridgerator on hand and then put said device in the refridgerator, in effect keeping out the cold air that you're hoping will get inside by placing it in the refridgerator, all the way taking up WAY too much room in the refridgerator and spilling my cottage cheese all over the inside of my "lunch box", a plastic Wal-Mart sack.

I'm really, really into whiskey these days. My home has a constant supply of either Johhny Walker (Scotch whiskey) or Maker's Mark (bourbon whiskey). I order it in bars (rocks with a splash of water). I am in love. However, I do not have a favorite type yet but am hoping to develop one.

Getting back into working out and eating right again has improved my mood as well. It's funny how right these "doctors" are. I feel better and fart/poop a lot more, too. I'm slowly getting back down to wedding form and cannot believe was so lazy and ate so poorly in the 2 months prior to this.

After observing some of the activity that has been going on in my compnay as the actual merger comes to fruition, I feel less and less confident about my future with this company. I plan to work on my resume in the near future just in case. I am still undertermined whether this is just paranoia or not.

Being married is great. Seriously. It is all time.

I plan on going radio silence while watching the Steelers game this weekend. Last week, I had a party and had guests over but I was unable to entertain for the first few hours due to my nerves surrounding the game. This time, it is all business.

Work is awful today. I will be caught up by 8 though.

Monday into Tuesday was spent at the Taj in AC. I turned $40 into $160 at a $5 3-card poker table. It was a completely mindless way of earning money. The Japanese fell in love with this game and we played until 5 am. I gave up my seat around 2 but stuck around to give encouragement to Team Sushi. We were on the bus by 10 am and back by 3 pm. Then I got a call from Kate saying that my car died while she was at Target. I ran (not literally) over and got AAA to come out. The battery was most likely dead. This was confirmed and I shelled out $110 of my winnings to the man. I was still up $10 on Tuesday. Yippee! The evening was spent at Macys for registery stuff, followed by exhaustion. My poop didn't even have the energy it needed this morning to be solid.

Jono, let me know about that tax stuff. I will most likely be in the same boat next year. Poyser would know, yes?

you make some valid pts but you are also using flawed statistics to back your claims at the same time. I agree that they likely arent the same team as when they played the Eagles week 3 but then again neither are the Eagles. And, that line is still atrocious, no matter how they looked against the chargers (who are woeful). Im not saying they are way ahead of the steelers in my mind. Actually its really really close. In the end, I decided the way the eagles and steelers look to me right now, I give the slight edge to the birds in that matchup.

Heres my issue with your argument (point made, just dont like the stats you utilized):

Dude, the Steelers played the Eagles in Week 3!! If nothing else, the offensive line is FINALLY playing as a unit and has helped the team rush for over 170 yards per game over the last two games (chargers - warm temp team playing in snow and browns - 28th in league and final game of season, motivation?). And, Willy Parker is fully healthy again. And the Eagles have given up 143 rush yards per game in their two playoff games (vikings and giants, two of the best rushing attacks in the NFL, and giants game in windy conditions that promotes more running than usual and vikings game was at vikings).

What I am trying to say is that the team that played the Eagles in Week 3 is not this team and I do not expect a repeat performance (if they somehow get past the Ravens, which I have a bad feeling about).

What I do know is that whomever wins the AFC will win the Super Bowl, regardless of opponent.

joo send me a pic mail of the potential shoo as well.

philly fans, ive been thinking about it and as much as it pains me to say, I really think the eagles are gonna win it this year. the titans would have been a bad matchup for the eagles but I think the ravens or steelers are good matchups for them. The key is for Mcnabb to realize his job is going to be to not make bad plays rather than to go out there and make great plays. You also got the Andy Reid factor, but still, I like their chances.

- steelers: horrible, horrible o-line against a jimmy johnson defensive scheme and a d that has really developed into one of the best in the league = problems for pittsburgh.

- ravens: rookie quarterback winnig a super bowl? doubt it. also this team generated 46 yards of ball movement in the first half of the teams' first meeting. Then Reid benched Mcnabb and gave the game away. baltimore didnt win the first meeting, philly lost it.

I would still consider my relationship with Laura to be in the "Dating" phase. I have only been hanging with her for a month, and although she is awesome, it is still too early to be calling her my G-friend. Though we have fooled around quite a bit, she is a good girl (but not, if this makes any sense), and doesn't believe in bumping uglies until she knows the person well and feels comfortable with them. To her, sex is something you do with someone you have a relationship with. I have no problems with this. DEFINITELY worth the wait. No, I do not anticipate waiting 5 months before I show her the Hebrew Hammer. I have no doubt when this occurs, I will be in deep trouble (picture the end of "40 Days and 40 Nights" - Yes, she's a freak). She's a cool chick, a sweetheart, and I enjoy hanging out with her. I might go as far as making her a mix tape (heheh). I just texted you a picture.

The Wednesday hump. Welcome to it, boys and girls. This week has certainly been a shitty one. I chalk that up to the fact that this weekend has two very excellent football games lined up on Sunday. Also, I am staring down the barrel of another 3 day weekend.

Hafer, you will be happy to know that I just ordered Fallout 3. Yay! I cannot wait to be exploring the post-apocalyptic DC landscape.

In other news, I also finished my reading of the Watchmen. I have no idea how the book is going to translate to the big screen but I think that the movie is going to be really well done. At the very least, it will look damn nice.

Anyone here watch Reservation Road? From what I hear, it is one of the most depressing movies ever made. For that reason, it will not be watched by yours truly. I have no idea why Hollywood makes movies like that, movies that are depressing and without a message. Apparently, it's like a two hour long episode of Mad Men that focuses solely on Don's home life. Booooooorrrriiiiiinnnnggggg.

I do not remember that scene at all. I do remember a scene where you can see her face going through the motions as she is dancing and then she leaves the stage early (i.e., before her song was up). They may have replaced it with that scene.

She is hot, Joo. For any age.

Vic, maybe it's the scene where she is desperately sizing up guys in the strip club just so that she can make her money for the night? The camera follows her around from behind similar to the beginning scene is shot following around Randy the Ram.

As for Gears, I just go through the part where Dom and I use the cranes as we make our way around the main city.

I saw the screener version, Vic. I am not sure if they added/omitted anything when with the actual theatre version, but I am assuming that there is no difference between the screener and the theatre version. Therefore, I did not notice the mentioned scene, so it must have been omitted.

Thoughts on Marissa Tomei at her age, with that body. Good? Bad? Train Wreck?

do you remember this scene:

You know how, in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Marisa Tomei is naked, like, four times? She was clearly preparing for this film, in which she plays a stripper with a heart of talc and is topless and grinding pretty much the whole time. One shot, filmed from her point of view while she’s working, will make you never, ever want to enter a strip club again.

this is from an article written after the writer saw the movie at a film festival, so perhaps they cut this out?

The past 48 hours I have been dealing with a stomach virus. I would say that I am operating at about 65% right now. I cannot wait to get home though because today is already going too slowly for me.

For some clarification, I will not be going to Vegas this weekend. It was sort of a last minute plan by the Mrs. and myself but we never executed. As a result, I will be watching the games from my couch. Thank God though because a weekend in Vegas after the last 48 hours I had would not be a good mix.

I think that I am nearing the end of Gears of War 2. At least I hope that I am. Man, this game goes on forever.

I am delicious. I was walking the dog last night when I saw some dude walking his dog sans leash. They were about 50 yards away so I thought we were fine... Wrong. I hear the dude call his dog, I turn and see it runing toward us. I grab odogg by the collar and the other dog jumps at us and starts playing with odogg. After a second they begin snipping so I reach down to pull the other dog away and, during that time I get bit, although I don't know it until about 5 minutes later when I'm walking home. The other dude is on his cell phone and casually walks over to get his dog. He seems to be out of it and doesn't even really say anything, just keeps talking on his phone. I, thinking nothing has happened, walk home. About halfway there I notice my finger is numb and tingly. I pull off my thin knit glove and see lots of blood. I think awesome. I get back, tell caruso what happened, she freaks, and I begin dumping hydrogen peroxide in my hand. After a quick inspection and wrap job I head to the er. I wait for about 3 hours and finally get a tetnus shot, antibiotics and several cleanings. The pa, who is hot, obviously wants me and I can't blame her, but that is a different story. I finally get home around midnight and attempt to sleep with my hand in the air. That goes about as well as you'd expect. I get up, call to setup my follow up, shower one handed and am currently waiting my drugs. All in all, a typical Monday.

glad to hear you're on board with Mad Men. I still have to download season 2.

How much do you want to motor boat Joan Holloway?

I got my fantasy check from Jono the other day and in typical check exchange fashion, he wrote "sick man on man stuff" in the 'for' section in the bottom left. The teller sort of glanced at it and did a double take and then gave me a dirty look when I got my receipt. I had to hold in the laughter.

Talk about irony...

I can eliminate a few other weekends that I would not be able to hang out if you did come those weekends.

Feb. 14 - Presidents weekend - I may be going to my firm's ski trip in western Maryland that weekend. Also, I know Vic, Lukey and Hafer have plans that weekend too.

Feb. 28 - I will likely be in Allentown for my most recent niece's baptism.

March 14 - my engagement party - you will be getting an invite soon, but I am by no means expecting you to come or spend a night in Allentown when it should be spent in DC. I, on the other hand, have to attend. Also, Allentown is not DC, and by that very principle does not qualify for the trip.

April 11 - I have a cousin's wedding in South Carolina I think on Easter weekend. This would be that weekend.

I am not saying you should schedule around my schedule but I would hope to participate in Conway visit to my lovely town. Ok, false. You should definitely schedule around my schedule. As far as I know, all other weekends are fair game. I am delighted about this news.

The wife and I are planning a trip to DC. In can be anytime, but we're trying to buy the tickets by the end of this week due to a Midwest Airlines fair sale that could get us there for $150/ticket. So the question becomes, what is a good weekend to come down? To narrow it down a bit, we cannot come the weekend of Feb. 20. Other than that, no hold barred.

Want to try for March?
April?
Other weekend in February?

We're all ears.

Also, as I mentioned before, this was win-win football weekend for Joo. The Giants lost, so now he can root on the Eagles. Would've been fine the other way as well.

Was excellent. Got some me time, and some time with Laura in.

Friday - Went to Lucky Strike with Laura and enjoyed it immensely.
Saturday - Had to work in the am, which sucked, but got to enjoy a nice relaxing evening while it snowed outside. I saw The Wrestler from the comfort of my own home, and was very pleased with the movie overall. Good God, Marissa Tomei is old, but still good looking. Played a lot of Fable 2 in the evening...what a great game.

Sunday - "the giants with plax are a COMPLETELY different team."
I agree with this statement entirely, but his absence was not the only reason they lost. Both teams did not play their best, but Tuck, Kiwanuka, AND Jacobs were hurt, and that really put the nail in the coffin for the G-men.
Donovan McNabb's actions in the Giants' bench was UTTERLY CLASSLESS. I am glad he said something, but he shouldn't have fuckin done it in the first place. Donnie, you've got no rings on your fingers, and if the score were reveresed, you would've been out of a job. Completely unprofessional.
Overall, I am excited to see the Eagles play against the Cardinals. I think it will be a close game, but the victor will hopefully be the Birds.

The Steelers played extremely well, I was a little pre-occupied, but I kept hearing "Touchdown Steelers" on a regular basis and was not surprised by the spread at the end. Rivers is a douche. Congrats to the Steelers.
How cool would it be if we had a PA superbowl?

Was supposed to go until 10am just go out, hence my absence.

My thoughts on the football-filled weekend:
- I will say that it was nice to see ONE home favorite pull out a win this weekend, especially since it was my team. I am very, very delighted to be in the AFC Championshit game yet again but am horrified that my boys have to play the Ravens for the 3rd time this year. I would've much rather liked to have had to play the Titans. In any event, a dominating performance by the best remaining team int he playoffs. Go Steelers, indeed.

- Tennessee should have absolutely won that game. No doubt about it and I agree wholly with Vic. This has nothign to do with my intense love affair with him, either. He's simply right.

- (I shall group the piss-poor NFC together) Arizona won! I cannot believe that all that stands in the way of an Eagles Super Bowl appearance is the Kurt Warner led Arizona Cardinals!! Eagles fans must be delighted! Anyway, congrats to Philly fans for having a heck of a sports year so far and for being matched up against a less than superior team. NY deserved to lose. I saw 10 minutes total of the AZ game but after reading the stats and seeing 5 INTs, it looks like Carolina deserved to lose as well. Good luck to both teams.

Now, I cannot wait until Sunday! Goodness! Is it the weekend yet?

Joey, you're going to be in Vegas for those games?!?! My, my.

before i even get to this weekend, i will address next. two haaaauge playoff games and the return of the flight of the conchords. what could be better?

so my observations of championship weekend. 3 teams are birds. this means the stillers are guaranteed a spot in the super bowl. this makes sense, if only to me, therefore, it shall be so. concerning the nfc game (aka, the team that will lose, without question, to the afc team), you really have to like the iggles chances. warner doesn't like getting hit and the iggles like to bring the pain. advantage iggles.

speaking to the latter, i have never noticed how crazy dawkins' crazy eyes look. he is one scary dude. damn. imagine him and ray lewis out on the town. tell me people wouldn't be throwing their wallets at them wherever they went and telling them they didn't want any trouble... and then ray lewis would stab them and get away with it.

now to this weekend. west side story was awesome, as usual. the only thing that i didn't really go for was the fact that all scenes in which only the sharks (or the shark's ladies) appeared were, generally, performed only in spanish, including the songs. this was kind of lame, but i understand why they did this. i also didn't like how, during the song "somehow, someplace, somewhere" some little kid (who had a terrible voice) came out and sang a solo. i am assuming that this is supposed to be the lovechild from the one night tony and maria bang. if i'm right, i really hate their attempt to cheer up the ending of the musical. it's supposed to be sad, it's a friggin' romeo and juliet story. idiots.

now to this weekend's games:
ravens/tit-ans - very simple, too many turnovers vs. 0. tenn shot themself in the foot. throw in more blown calls by the nfl (notice how quick the refs were on the whistle last night for delay of game?) and you get the ravens in the afc championship.

carolina/cards - i still have no idea where this came from. it's like the cards are an nba team and only in the playoffs decide to play defense. throw in warm weather and the cards are in their wheelhouse. oh, and the fact that carolina has delhomme sure didn't help.

iggles/giants - eli looked like the eli of old and not the eli of late last year/early this year (nice interceptions). the wind sure didn't help, but mcchoke sure didn't seem to mind too much. i also think that the giants o-line was atrocious last night. eli was getting smacked all night and the fact that they couldn't pick up at least 1 4th and 1 is terrible. one final note, i predicted the iggles reaching the super bowl. so far so good (ignore the fact i also predicted the bolts reaching the super bowl).

stillers/bolts - this weekend is the super bowl for the stillers and stabbers. stillers are the best team left and will win this weekend and the super bowl, especially if the cards beat the iggles. if the iggles win, the stillers will only win by 10 (building on vic's aberration game theory, the iggles beating the stillers was a prime example).

let the discussion begin.

um, the giants with plax are a COMPLETELY different team. I will say that the eagles game was not as much of an aberration due to the fact that the giants have shown that they have zero consistency on offense without plaxico. Still, giants win that ball game more often than not.

whoever said that the titans were slumping at the end of the year......seriously????? We handily beat pittsburgh in our final game.

also,

titans 391 total yards to 211 for ravens

89 penalty yards for titans vs 40 penalty yards for ravens

3 turnovers for titans vs 0 for ravens

chris johnson (best offensive player) hurt at end of first half (reason why lendale was in when he fumbled) and did not play the rest of game.

blatant delay of game not called on third down of game winning drive for ravens.

yes, this was an aberration game. titans beat themselves. ravens didnt come close to beating the titans.

What I gather from Vic's math, this weekend has been 3/3 on aberration games. I'm pretty sure that's 100% aberration games. The likelihood of this happening is 12.5%. So this, in and of itself, is an aberration weekend.

Because of this I question how Vic determines the quality of a team. He mentioned that a team's quality is higher than the other team if it can win >50 out of 100 games against that team. Clearly there was a momemtum factor to the games this weekend. All of the "Favorites" really looked flat at the end of the year and in their respective games this weekend. Conversely, the Ravens and the Eagles have been on fire. Where these really aberration games?

However you do your math, who the fuck cares. The eagles won baby! Thank you Eli. I'll take that aberration game anytime.

lots of aberration games and a lot of SHITTY teams remaining in the playoffs.

Titans played extremely sloppy and beat themselves yesterday and you dont deserve to be crowned super bowl champs when you play like that. Also, they got some bad luck with non calls and injuries. With that being said they are clearly the best team in the NFL this year. Unfortunately many times that doesnt translate to you winning it all. this has been a frustrating couple weeks football wise.

A Mets fan liking the Yankees is, by far, NOT the best comparison for your polygamous football fandom. They are not in the same division, or even league for that matter. "I am an Eagles fan, but will root for the Giants when they play anyone other than the Eagles."

Being a fan of the Eagles and having a back-up team that is the Giants is the same thing as having the Phillies as your favorite team with the Mets as the back-up team (note: this is just a little bit less than having the Yanks as your team with the BoSox as the back-up team).

You cannot be a fan (primary and back-up) of two teams in the same division.

I recant the following statment:

"I am an Eagles fan and root for the Eagles, but I'm not an ignoramous, who say fuck everyone else if the Eagles don't do well (which is usual)."

This was clearly contradicted in the last statment of the same paragraph. Furthermore, it was harsh and uncalled for.

I, therefore, apologize.

To enlighten some of you dumb fucks.

A) I NEVER said that the G-men were my favorite team. Find the fucking post that says that I did, ESPECIALLY against the Eagles. I'M BEGGING YOU TO FIND THAT FUCKING POST.

B) Read the last fucking post I made. I was merely stating facts, then supported the Eagles. The G-men are my back-up team, and I learned to like them because of my family (hmmmm, funnny. Not like I have said this to everyone 30 FUCKING MILLION TIMES). I am an Eagles fan, but will root for the Giants when they play anyone other than the Eagles.

Gentlemen, this conversation should not occur. "The teams are bitter rivals and there is no way that you can possibly like them both." BULLSHIT, yet typical of a Philly fan (we're not the brightest). I am an Eagles fan and root for the Eagles, but I'm not an ignoramous, who say fuck everyone else if the Eagles don't do well (which is usual). I became an Eagles fan because I essentially started watching a lot more professional footbal after college, and most of the games I was exposed to were the Eagles, and I loved watching them play. I, quite frankly, could give A SHIT about what any of you want me to do. I root for the Eagles, especially against the Giants. However, if the Eagles lose out, I would rather see the G-men (based on my family) get a ring other than any other fucking team in the NFL.

My response to the statement "Well, I think that's bullshit and gay" is this:

Do ya?

The issue is closed.

Jono -"No matter who wins, you can claim that they are your favorite team!" - I want you ESPECIALLY to find the post where I claim that BOTH are my favorite teams. Chop-Chop.

In the words of Hafer: That is all.

I will post another oldie... enjoy.

*****

Frankly Vert, you should know better. We have Baya, who's obviously a whore (mini-whore b/c she's so tiny), and Ryan who will be the most dynamic and cause the most drrrama. There is also some black chick with huge (fake?) cans. Kate says they are fake; I didn't get a good enough look/feel. Also, I hate shows with trannies. Hate it. I can't stand looking at a hideous human being who has girl parts but who walks and talks like a man. Ugh. It makes me want to blow chunks. Nothing against that type of lifestyle...I just hate it when I'm forced to watch it during my daily smut. And are UG-LEE. I'm sure Ryan will make "it" as he referred to her/him/it feel right at home. He may be my idol by the way. And we share the same name!

Ok, idea check...Kate will officially be moving in later this month and we need to find a place to put her car without paying lots of money. We don't want to pay a lot because we won't need it that much. We figure we can get by with my car for the most part, but want Kate's car handy for freedom purposes. I was impressed when she came up with this little idea. The garage at the Ballston Mall (4 blocks away) charges $8 day and is probably $150-175 monthly. But it only charges a max of $25 for a lost ticket. I think at most we would ever take out the car is 4 times a month (on the weekends), but most likely only 2-3 times a month. So we would only be paying on average about $75 a month if we "lost" our ticket each time. Is there any way this plan could back fire? It is a '98 or '99 Honda Civic. I am not worried about its integrity.

Tonight, boozing with Maurer will hopefully be done. Tomorrow will entail registry shopping. I am bubbling with excitement.

i have one question concerning your team quality rankings. didn't utah just beat (rather easily) 'bama? i know bama was missing a bunch of players but can you really put them that much higher than the team that just beat them? if you're going on the fact that bama plays in a much tougher conference and you don't think utah could live through one sec season then i can understand.

very disappointing. even more disappointing is the fact that college football disappears for several long months now. sigh...

BUT, as chin points out, march madness is right around the corner!!! woo!! here's my question, is march madness really that good or is the perception of the tournament improved because there are no other sports (nhl doesn't count as it isn't a real sport) going on? i think it's the former but the latter certainly helps.

picks for the nfl this weekend? here are mine:
1) giants
2) panthers
3) stillers
4) ravens

anyone else?

joo, i've been using the torrent version of windows 7 beta and i must say i am very impressed. vista was, without question, a huge failure, so i went into 7 very skeptical. after 2 weeks of use i can say, without a doubt, that it is obvious that microsoft learned from their past mistakes (vista). we'll see.

at least thats what the announcers in yesterday's game led me to believe.

what i feel the rankings should be:

1. Utah
2. Florida
3. USC
4. Texas
5. Oklahoma
6. PSU
7. Alabama
8. OSU
9. TCU
10. Boise

What I think the quality of teams are (at years end):

1. USC
2. Florida
3. PSU
4. Texas
5. Oklahoma
6. OSU
7. Alabama
8. TCU
9. Utah
10. Iowa/Oregon tossup

You seriously need to keep your TV tastes to yourself. As they say, "It's better to keep your mouth shut and thought of as a fool than to open it and remove all doubt".

The Hills, The City, and Bromance are all, BY FAR THE WORST TV shows in the history of television. The people on those shows are more pathetic than Islamic terrorists, and anyone who would want to be on the show Bromance should be shot, with their parents being charged for the cost of the bullet, gun, and labor. Are fucking kidding me? In the words of Vic:

Hafer, Seriously!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

No. You're joking. You have to be. That's it; you're joking.

Sugar Bowl (which apparently already happened, according to Hafer) - Does everyone expect Tebow to pass the shit out of the ball? I am thinking that Oklahoma's defense can keep the running offense at bay. I think FL will win, but am hoping for an Oklahoma victory. Laura will be stopping by and watching it with me, as she LOVES sports. If the game becomes a serious barn-burner, we will flip to the Bruins/Senators game.

I know, Joey!! What the fuck? He loves the Hills and now loves The City and is nearly watching and wanting to be on Bromance. I saw 0.3 seconds of Bromance the other night and almost tore my TV off the wall. What the fuck, dude?

Now through 6 episodes, I still think Mad Men is only so-so. I don't understand what all of the fuss is about just yet. Amy and I plan to finish out Season 1 and will then make the decision whether to download Season 2. I mean sure, Don Draper is a cool character and his back story is interesting and his wife is the hottest woman on the show and the red-headed seretary has giant boobs, but that's barely enough to keep me in the show at this point. I'm still waiting to be wowed.

Lukey, that is all time. I got to sit about 10 rows back on the corner of the court and while that was awesome, I was still very envious of the people in the front couple of rows who had the waitresses and were literally on the court. You must be a proud man today.

Florida wins by 2 TDs. My Tebow man-crush grows.

Some guy yesterday, after working in this part of the building for almost 3 months now, stops me and said that he's been watching and staring at me for the last few months because I remind him so much of his son. "You're tall just like him and he wears his hair dark just like you do," is what he said to me. I wear my hair dark, eh?

It was ridiculous; however, it may have ruined going to bball games for me, not having those seats will be such a let down. Pete almost got hit in the head with the ball, you could hear the guys talking, calling out screens, etc. The Wizards are just putrid. I was also excited to see Eden on Tyler the other day, Although she didn't look as hot as she did on the show. I would still give my right nut for a threesome with her and Kimber.

Even with the decline of Michigan and Wisconsin this season, I still think the Big 10 overall is a contender for strongest conference.

I know you guys were talking about this the other day, but I also saw Burn After Reading over the weekend. It was OK. I gave it a C. I then upgraded it to a B- after I watched the DVD extras and saw the Cohen brothers' interviews. Man, just screw this week in the ass. Seriously, do it. This week completely stinks. In what used to be the "Friday" of the week during the past several weeks, we find ourselves in the midst of a true Wednesday.

Work is going well for me. Lots of stuff going on and I am behind in just about everything. However, I am really looking forward to the NFL playoff games this weekend. I love two days in a row having two NFL games. It is really one of the best ways to end a work week.

Over the past few days, I have come to realize that I hate college football. I just really don't care about it. The bowl games don't mean shit and there is not a playoff. PSU plays 4 cup cakes and then moves into a Big 10 season in which it will lose 1-3 games. The Big 10 doesn't have a championship game and may be a conference on the decline.

That being said, I am still going to watch the BCS champ game tomorrow night with Pat and Tom.

I am on the final episode of the Shield. I cannot wait to get home and finish it tonight. Not because I need to see how it ends so much as I need to stop watching TV and getting back to video gaming.

I will check it out.

Because I have worked Friday-Today, today definitely seems like it should be at least Thursday, if not Friday. The good news is that if I keep at it for the rest of the week, I won't have to work this weekend, or the next. Go heavesie, go!

I went out and bought FO3 last night. Just kidding.

First, I find it completely awesome that you watch and keep up with Bleach. Very surprisingly awesome.

If you want to download the episodes in high quality (I don't know how good the quality of your source is), go to the site below and use the following login info:

There's some other good shows on there as well, including the Gundam 00 series I was talking about.

I can't get a read on whether or not Hafer is into FO3. It must be really easy for him to like it so much. I bet you can just take it out of the box, plug it in and play with little to no learning curve. Ahh well, just a random thought on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon.

I found the game unwatchable last night, too. Thankfully I recorded it and watched it in about 1/4 of the actual time after I plower through a few episodes of Season 1 of Mad Men.

I've got nothing else.

i was perplexed by the decision at the time as well and spoke to lukey about it who was just as confused. However I thought about it some more and I think the logic of the decision was this:

- if they score they will go for two if you dont. you had just marched down the field and had momentum and confidence. if you kick the PAT and they score, you will be defending a conversion attempt after theyve regained momentum and absolutely deflated your team. Thus, the feeling was prob we have a better chance of converting than defending one.

- if you convert the conversion and they score you can still block the PAT for a tie. if you kick the PAT and they score you are down no matter what. only you are not sure if you are down 1 or 3.

given the above I actually now agree with the decision.

other notes:

- pryor is disgusting at throwing the football.

- whats the deal with pryor running OB 4-5 yards too early every time he scrambles??? this seriously could have cost OSU the game.

i played through gow 2 twice and have now moved on, fully, to fo 3. while gow 2 was very enjoyable, i really have developed a man crush on fo 3. as i've said, it has a really steep learning curve but once you get over that it's amazing, easily better than gow 2. why? fo 3 has some rpg components included, but these components aren't really in your face. also, there are tons of customization options built into the game (character appearance, strengths/weaknesses, etc.), and the gameplay is wide-open (over 100+ of gameplay). again, get it.

That really annoyed me when OSU went for 2 at the 2:00 mark. Did anyone else agree with it? I understand it would have made it a 6 pt (2 field goal) game, but I don't feel like there would been enough time for Texas to pull that off if they had to go that route. Instead it left OSU with an at best chance to tie if Texas scored a TD. I can't wrap my head around this decision. Like it matters.

So Hafer, Fallout 3 is really super good? I'm glad I recommended it to you. Are you playing this now instead of Gears 2?

Joe, when we arrived in the Borg there was 6 people on the list so we went downstairs for lunch. When we came back up 30 min later the list was at 30. I think you arrived about an hour later and the list was supposedly in the 70-100 range.

Harrah's is really nice looking but I took a horrid beat there once and refuse to go back. Plus it's not the most convenient place to get to.

I plan on making frequent AC whilst the weather is cold.

Joey Mac and I went down on Friday afternoon. The wait list at the Borgata was ridiculous. As a result, Joey Mac and I hit Harrah's. Harrah's has a really nice poker room now and it was also completely packed.

I had a donk-ish day at the tables. I quit the day down $40 (worthless) and Joey Mac ended up $350 after about 4+ hours of playing. This is something that I definitely want to get in the habit of doing more often.

I watched Magical Mystery Tour with my cousins over xmas, with "I am the Walrus" obviously being the best song. I decided to look it up online and besides the obvious that John wrote the majority of it on two separate acid trips, I found this about the Eggman:

Who was the Eggman?

Eric Burdon, lead singer of The Animals, is claimed by some to be the 'Eggman'. The reason for this is that Burdon was known as 'Eggs' to his friends, originating from his fondness for breaking eggs over naked girls. Burdon's biography mentions such an affair taking place in the presence of John Lennon, who shouted "Go on, go get it, Eggman..."[11]
--

Just spectacular, we have enough bachelor parties coming for this to be pulled off - we need to make this happen, preferably on film.

My day and future days this week have been and will be flooded with them. Ugh. I hate meetings even when they accomplish things. Just send me an e-mail telling me what to do and when it needs to be done and I'll get it done. Ya heard?

The Royals are hot, yes. Matters? No. They do have the biggest scoreboard IN THE WORLD at Kauffman Stadium now. I'm excited to see that and possibly eat in the all-you-can-eat section of the stadium.

I'm reading an Einstein (Albert) biography and came across this tidbit:
- Before WWI, the German mark was worth $0.24
- At the beginning of 1920 it fell to $0.02 and at that time a mark could buy a loaf of bread
- At the beginning of 1923, the bottom fell out and a loaf now cost 700 marks
- By the end of 1923, the same load cost 1 billion marks
- I repeat, 1 billion!!!
I find this extremely interesting and ridiculous.

Softball tonight and it's a late game. 8:30pm start time which means no sun and surprisingly cold air being as it is sunny as hell right now and only in the mid-50s. Ugh. I am not looking forward to the combination of the night game and cold weather. In related news, volleyball was cancelled last night due to the all-day rain we had. I was not disappointed as I was not in the mood to play at all.

Speaking of Vegas, what do you say we all just go there for JF: BP Ed., eh?

I think you're lying. I think you want him so bad you can taste him, and you want to make sure that you're waiting for him at the aiport, wearing a wig and a dress, with a big sign that says "Dave, I'm Pregnant!".

I'm actually picturing this, and laughing histerically.

I'll let you all know as soon as he arrives. Saturday might be a safer bet, though.
